Upon hearing the voice, the three figures were horrified. None of them dared to respond for fear of offending the terrifying creature. They knew, after all, how cold the creature they called their master could be.

There was silence in the cave before the deep voice echoed once again, "Inform Number 2 and the others to accelerate our plans for that location. The sooner it’s completed, the sooner we can move to a larger world."

The three figures bowed respectfully toward the deep shadows before turning and exiting the cave. After they vanished, the voice spoke once more, its tone laced with interest.

"Kranos, huh? How interesting... how truly interesting!"

...

The three walked in silence for a while. Once they were sure they were far from their master, they began to speak among themselves.

"The master is truly furious... To think that kid actually killed Number 3," the first figure said in a hushed voice beneath his hood.

The second figure beside sneered in disdain. "Number 3 was always overconfident. Instead of requesting backup from either of us, he thought he could complete the task alone."

"Everyone, now is not the ti to think about these things. let’s get down to business. The infiltration is reaching nearing its final phase. Soon, we’ll be able to fully corrupt this world and leave." the third person finished speaking and began walking away.

The second figure clicked his tongue in annoyance. "As expected of Number 1. Always so serious... Never even a mont of fun, Hmph."

...

In the blink of an eye, nearly two weeks passed by. in this ti, Kranos’ cultivation had progressed by leaps and bounds. He had already reached the fifth stage of the Foundation Establishnt Realm and was close to breaking through to the sixth. They had been journeying for a while and finally Kranos could see the faint outline of a golden barrier.

Kranos’ eyes widened in surprise before a wave of joy washed over him. He recognized what it ant — they had finally arrived at Safe Haven, the last sanctuary for living beings in this world.

"Finally," Ross breathed out in relief, his voice filled with emotion. The others shared his sentint. They knew that without Kranos, they never would have made it. They could still recall the terrifying battle before reaching the city — Kranos had been surrounded by nearly a hundred monsters, including corrupted humans, animals, and even an awakened tree that had launched a few deadly attacks.

Luckily they survived thanks to his efforts. As they walked a few more steps forward, they ca to a stop. A pale golden barrier blocked the path in front of them. Kranos looked and couldn’t see an entrance into the safe haven. He turned to Ross for an explanation.

Ross imdiately understood what Kranos was asking. he gave an awkward cough. "I... don’t know how to get in. I only knew the direction." Realizing Ross had no clue on how to get into the safe haven, Kranos thought for a mont before taking out Eternal hunger.

I have no choice but this, he muttered inwardly before slashing at the barrier with all his strength.

Bang!

A loud, impactful sound rang out from the collision, and the barrier trembled slightly before stabilizing again. Frowning, Kranos continued attacking the barrier with a barrage of sword strikes. Soon a few minutes had good by but the barrier was still sturdy, there were no signs of it cracking.

Just as Kranos was about to strike again, the barrier rippled faintly, and two middle-aged n stepped out.

Kranos put away his ti sword, sensing no hostility from them but he was still on his guard. He faced the two n who had reached him at this mont.

The man on the right studied Kranos and the others with mild surprise. "A kid?" he muttered, before shaking his head. The power behind those strikes made it clear Kranos was no ordinary youth. "My na is Ju Ming. Young friend, may I ask why you’re attacking our protective array?" Ju Ming asked, flashing Kranos a polite smile.

"My na is Kranos. I apologize for the disturbance. My companions and I made it here safely, but this was the only way I could think of to get your attention," Kranos replied politely as well, seeing that the man was not as overbearing as he thought.

Ju Ming nodded at Kranos words then asked,. "How may I be of assistance?"

Kranos thought for a mont thinking of how to phrase his sentence, "i need your help... in resolving the issue with this world..."

Upon hearing Kranos’ words, Ju Ming’s expression changed drastically; he didn’t expect Kranos to say such a statent. "Resolving the issue with this world? Young man, do you think this is a joke?" he asked with a frown, his face also showed disbelief.

He still recalled that horrifying battle, the creature that blotted the sky, the despair they all felt trying to kill the creature that had an immortal body, and the innurable number of experts they lost in just that battle alone was too much to count. Thankfully, one of the elders had a plan in mind, ultimately saving them in the end.

"I know what I’m saying," Kranos replied. Truthfully, he wasn’t sure if he could trust Ju Ming. After all, the last enemy had appeared completely human. But he had no choice. "This so-called Safe Haven may not be as safe as you think," Kranos said looking calmly at Ju Ming, causing him to be shocked.

Ju Ming’s face darkened, and the man beside him took a step forward. "You’d better have a very good reason for saying that, boy. Or else— Hmph," the man snorted coldly.

"Let’s head into the city first," Kranos said calmly. He had already assessed their cultivations — both were in the Foundation Establishnt Realm like him, though slightly stronger. Still, if it ca to a fight, Kranos was confident he could escape. Unlike before, he wouldn’t need to protect anyone — his life was the only priority now.

Ju Ming hesitated, then nodded. There were many powerful cultivators inside the city. Though he was confident in his own strength, sothing about Kranos made him wary, he felt Kranos was quite... Enigmatic?
