The Ruthless Bandit never forgot the name Avalon, and he most certainly never forgot the star tattoo. Later, he tried to find out who Avalon was, but came up empty-handed.
However, even after countless years had passed, he still remembered it, and today he finally saw the same star mark again, only this time it glowed on his wife’s forehead.
Kent wanted to know more about it since his [Omniscient Jade Eyes] failed to see through it. However, before that could happen, he was challenged.
"Kent, my love, how about we spar so I can test how much stronger I have bee?" Elina demanded, a smile playing on her lips as she gazed at him.
"Aren’t you being shameless right now, Elina? You are an Immortal Lord, while I am merely an Immortal King. This would just be you bullying me," Kent replied with a smirk.
However, as if his wives had planned it, they all rolled their eyes. They knew that even if Elina had emerged as a Demigod, there was no way she could defeat Kent. So he was merely being shameless at this point.
A minute later, he stood opposite Elina, his expression relaxed. While the star tattoo was important, he knew Elina would only talk if he accepted her challenge, so he did, and now they stood facing each other.
Kent remained clad in his robe while Elina summoned a silver armour and a glaive. She pointed it at Kent and warned, "Be careful, Kent. I don’t know how strong I am right now."
The moment she finished speaking, her body moved, and before Kent could blink, she appeared before him, her glaive carving a deadly arc through the air. Kent didn’t expect her to move that fast.
However, just as the glaive arrived before him, his left hand moved in a graceful pattern and deflected it, the impact sending Elina flying back several steps.
She smiled and moved again, appearing before Kent once more, this time with a thrust of her glaive toward his chest. Kent smiled, realising the skill Elina had employed in her movement.
’So she awakened the Void Dragon Step, huh?’
The Void Dragon Step allowed instantaneous movement through space. It was one of the most powerful movement techniques a dragon could dream of possessing.
The reason why it was regarded as one of the best is that it grows alongside the wielder, so if she wanted to, she could rely on this skill alone for as long as she wished.
However, Kent, who had been a dragon before, had long since developed a countermeasure against such a technique.
So the moment her glaive arrived before him, his body shifted, effortlessly evading her attack.
He then reached forward and grabbed the shaft of her glaive, hoping to disarm her.
However, the moment his hand touched the weapon, a smile formed at the corner of Elina’s lips, and the glaive’s shaft turned crimson as lightning snaked around it.
Kent pulled his hand back, but he wasn’t fast enough.
A strand of lightning struck his palm, sending jolts of pain down his spine. His eyes widened, and as if his life were in danger, Kent retreated using a movement technique.
"Is that the Crimson Calamity Lightning?" he asked, his expression turning serious as he watched the crimson lightning slither around Elina’s glaive.
She nodded with a smile on her face.
"Yes. I have awakened four of the Nine Tribulation Lightnings. I don’t know to what extent I can use this lightning yet, so bear with me."
Crimson lightning surged around her body.
Then she moved.
This time, her speed was several times faster.
Kent recognised the challenge, and so he summoned a sword forged from ice and met her attack head-on, the two exchanging hundreds of blows in mere seconds.
While he was nowhere close to his limit, he knew Elina wasn’t as simple as he had expected. For a moment, he seemed to have forgotten just how monstrous the Nine Tribulation Dragon Bloodline truly was.
Elina managed to snap him back to reality, and as they moved, exchanging blows, more memories of Kent’s first incarnation as the Primordial Chaos Dragon began to return to him.
Lost in the chaos of it all, the two lovers grew more serious.
Standing two kilometres away, the ladies watching wore smiles.
"I never knew Elina was this good in close bat," Vexthra muttered, watching Elina weave between attacks, countering and delivering blows of her own.
Since Elina died before she could realise her true potential during the primordial era, they never expected her to possess this much close-bat experience.
"I don’t think this mastery is her own," Pandora suddenly said. "The mastery she is displaying is very deep, something only a seasoned warrior could possess."
"Are you saying she inherited her close-bat mastery from her bloodline?" Umai asked.
"I am not sure, but that could be the case. Perhaps it is something else entirely, but I know for a fact that she isn’t fighting solely from her own experience."
The ladies became intrigued.
Just then, the lightning around Elina changed colour from crimson to azure.
Kent, who met her glaive in a violent collision, felt his soul tremble slightly. He smiled wryly, realising Elina had activated the [Azure Soul Lightning].
This lightning element targets the soul and one’s consciousness. He had learned that the hard way when he fought the Void General, the original owner of the Nine Tribulation Dragon Bloodline.
With the Azure Soul Lightning activated, the battle changed immediately.
Now, Kent had to fight on the physical, mental, and soul planes simultaneously, since every clash of their weapons attacks all three parts of his being.
However, just when the battle entered a more dangerous phase, the lightning changed colour again.
"The Violet Void Lightning," Kent said with a smirk.
His senses spread wide as he prepared for what was ing.
Elina smiled and moved, only for her body to vanish into the void.
When she appeared again, her glaive was mere inches away from Kent’s neck. He ducked and moved back, only to find his body being pulled toward Elina.
Her smile widened as the blade of her glaive brushed past Kent’s neck, scraping against metallic scales.
The third lightning, the Violet Void Lightning, granted her the power of both the Void and Space.
Essentially, with an affinity for this lightning, she could wield the powers of the Void and Space without possessing a direct affinity for either element.
However, as if fate had decided to reward Elina, not only did she possess an Absolute-Rank affinity for four Tribulation Lightnings, but she also possessed affinities for both Void and Space.
This made her Violet Void Lightning even more dangerous.
But when the colour of the lightning changed to gold, Kent knew he had to use the power of his [Omniscient Jade Eyes].
Why?
Because with the Golden Fate Lightning activated, Elina gained access to a skill called [Future Sight].
This skill allowed her to see five seconds into the future.
With that power in play, Kent finally became serious.
Elina noticed the change and smiled.
Then she moved.
Her spear thrust toward Kent, who reached out with his right hand to block it. However, at the very last moment, she shifted her stance and pivoted her attack, redirecting the spear toward Kent’s right thigh instead.
A smile appeared on her face, knowing she had finally managed to use the future to her advantage.
However, just as the spear was about to strike Kent, a dagger was suddenly pressed against her neck.
Kent’s thigh was pierced, but instead of blood spilling out, his entire body dissolved into a shadowy mist.
She has affinities for four deadly elements, namely Crimson Calamity Lightning, Azure Soul Lightning, Violet Void Lightning and Golden Fate Lightning, each at the absolute stage, yet she still failed to defeat Kent.
"The future can be disappointing sometimes, can’t it?" Kent asked with a faint smile.
