Far back to the center of the Pride world, Tristan city still looked destroyed, no different from an abandoned town at all. Right now, it had beco the shelter for a large group of players who had ford a significant army called “The Alliance,” which had thousands of those who wanted to crush the four gods completely in the sa place.

This strategy helped William sustain so tiny chances for his guild to win this war unless he had the risk of being targeted by others because he owned one of the holy crystals.

But for the past several days after the war ga had been changed, it could be said that it was not bad for them to survive this long.

Not only that he could still keep the crystal,

He could beat Sven’s force up in their faces, too!

Even though those achievents were not earned by his skills at all.

Right now, the tall body of William was walking grumpily on a street in Tristan city that looked almost empty. There were only so mbers of the alliance force talking, while they were walking sparsely in groups.

William decided to walk right inside a hotel in this city with a frustrated expression. He went straight past many players who were holding their hands up to greet him, however, his eyes behind the glasses did not look at any of them until he could bring himself to the front of the VIP room on the top floor of the hotel.

If he had so manners, he would have knocked on the door first. However, William never had that in his entire existence, so he just pushed the door open right away.

“What is this?!”

He shouted aloud right after he walked into the room.

His eyes behind the glasses were glancing at everyone in the room furiously.

In front of him, there were two n playing chess on the coffee table with unbothered expressions. One of them was a short, blond-haired man with red eyes. The other one had long hair and glasses, looking like he was in a good mood.

Sitting afar from these two, there was a beautiful lady dressed in old-fashioned clothes, looking like one of those noble British won from the Colonialism era. Her dress had pretty layers and laces. Her shiny black hair was kept in a tight bun. Her eyes were blue like the sea. She was relaxing on a large couch in the room, sipping so excellent, tasty tea from the cup in her hand carefreely.

anwhile, the last one was by the window, sitting on a large armchair that was placed backward with the others, so they could see only the back of his head and so part of his back behind this chair.

“Oh, hello, Mister William. Is there any urgent business bringing you all the way here to our room? If not, would you like to join us?”

“Check mate!”

“Yikes! Did you cheat , Allen? How did you just break in here out of nowhere?”

“No, I didn’t. You just didn’t pay enough attention to your fight.”

Hearing these two talking so carefreely, William clenched his jaws in frustration. These guys just greeted him as a matter of courtesy. They never cared about why he was here!

“So, Mister William, would you like to have so afternoon tea with ?”

The woman who was sitting in the other corner spoke in a splendid voice. Her smile was spreading out friendly, but William made a clicking noise in his throat in response.

“Can you all stop acting so unbothered?!”

He bawled out aloud with a red face of anger. However, his loud complaints did not get the attention of these people at all. The first two who were playing chess were still bickering with each other about getting cheated, while the other woman was just enjoying her tea.

“Why did you disobey my order? Why did you tell my guild to put up a defense here, even though we had just beaten Sven’s force? We should have been going out to finish him off by now, but instead, you’re just sitting back here to play chase, sip tea, and space out at the sky. Are you all crazy?!”

SHUNK!!

Right after his sentences ended, a sharp object looking like a dessert fork flew across the room at a speed that eyes could not catch, and it stunk clean into the wall only a few inches from William, making the one who almost got attacked jump.

“You never stop complaining, Mister William. If you may, please have so manners and quiet down, because my leader is resting over there.”

The woman that the incoming fork belonged to, curled up a soft smile as she spread her hand to the other tall man who was sitting still on the couch by the window.

“I ...I ...I don’t care,” William shouted, but in a volu-down tone, of course. “I just need the answer as to why you all didn’t follow my order and refused to attack the Catarals!”

Hearing that, the only woman in the room smiled cutely at him,

anwhile, the two chess players glanced at each other and then shrugged.

“What an uncultured man. You really need to at least learn how to talk to won nicer than this.”

“It’s just typical barbaric behavior.”

“Shut up, Allen, Nero. Don’t try to ss with !”

“We didn’t even do anything.”

The long-haired man with square glasses shrugged, looking unbothered. And that made William feel annoyed even more,

“Stop ssing with him now, Allen, Nero.” The woman spoke in a gentle voice.

“Well, we’re not, Miss Scarlet.” Nero smiled delightedly. “We’re just teasing Mister William a bit.”

Hearing that, the owner of the na Scarlet shook her head wearily, before turning to William once again.

“Is there anything bugging you, Mister William?” She asked with an innocent face.

“Y ..yeah. it’s how you’re still sitting back calmly like this. Why are you refusing to follow the Catarals and finish them off when this is just a great chance to crush them down!”

“There’s no significant reason why, really.” The woman smiled at him. “We’re just lazy.”

Hearing that, William widened his eyes.

“Lazy?!”

“That’s right. I was exhausted from the battle yesterday, so we just wanted to take a day to relax. That’s all.”

William almost spit. They really said that they were exhausted from the battle yesterday? How could they be, since they did not even drop a sweat in the fight, especially this woman who ‘cast away’ hundreds of the Cataral players so easily?

“But that’s not the point. You should do as I say. If I didn’t take you all in my army, do you really think you would get this much opportunity to fight?!”

Listening to that, the three looked at each other. And then, the two n burst out laughing like they had been holding it for a long ti. anwhile, Scarlet put her hand on her mouth to hide her laughter.

“The hell are you laughing about?!!”

But William was still William. He spoke like he was better than anyone in the room. However, that was just too hilarious, because they had never seen sothing so shaless before.

“Don’t get it wrong, Mister William,” Scarlet said in a delighted voice.

“...What?!” The man snapped.

“We don’t have to follow your order. We do what we want. And if we don’t want to do sothing, no one can ever force us to, not even you.”

After her voice ended, William could not find words to talk back, because right now, her indigo-blue eyes were flashing with so threatening aura openly!

“Another thing.” Scarlet’s smile went wider. “We didn’t ask for your permission to join your army, we commanded you to take us in. So, if you don’t like this, then go order soone else to do it, and see if there’s anyone following orders from a leader like you in the war or not.”

William did not say anything more. He tried to stare at the three who were smiling like they had the upper hand...

And that was when he started to feel like it was a mistake taking these people to help fight the war.

At first, he thought they were so kind of freelance rcenary.

He saw that they had high levels, and looked like they were good at this,

But now, it turned out to be like he was digging his own grave the whole ti.

These people were not only good at skills, but they were also scarily tricky and hard to read!

“But don’t you worry, Mister William,” Scarlet said. “We’re out in the battle in a while. Very soon, really. We’ll play defense and believe that you’ll get the victory you wanted surely.”

“What do you an?”

The listener raised his eyebrows confusedly.

And seeing that, they all looked at each other and smiled knowingly.

“It ans we’ll battle with the one you’re familiar with so well. I assure you that soon you’re about to get your revenge on that man totally.”
