Chapter 96: Chapter 94: Since You’re Here, I’ll Plant You in the Ground
The sight of Celeste Grant made Jocelyn Grant’s stomach churn.
"Celeste Grant."
She called out her na, her voice cold and her face contorted with fury.
Just seeing Celeste now brought back the mory of tumbling in the sheets with the man impersonating Morgan Quinn. A wave of nausea washed over her, and she felt the urge to vomit.
"URP..."
Seeing her reaction, Celeste Grant stroked her chin and chuckled. "Congratulations, congratulations. Looks like you’re pregnant."
"What?"
Jocelyn Grant’s expression soured.
"What nonsense are you spouting?"
She retorted, but panic flared in her heart. ’If I really am pregnant, it could only be from that ti in the Secret Realm. No, impossible! How could I possibly be carrying that kind of man’s child? It’s too disgusting!’
At this thought, Jocelyn Grant imdiately used Magic to scan her body. After confirming she wasn’t pregnant, she relaxed. "Celeste Grant, I’m not pregnant at all."
"So you’re not, so what? What’s the big rush?"
Celeste Grant didn’t seem to care one way or another; whether Jocelyn was pregnant had nothing to do with her. Still, she deliberately goaded her, "What a sha you’re not pregnant. I guess being too fat is a problem after all. As the male lead, he couldn’t even manage a one-shot knockout. It’s just too bad you already killed him, otherwise a few more rounds and you’d have surely gotten pregnant. But don’t be sad. It’s not your fault you can’t carry on his line. If you really miss him, I’m sure he’ll visit you in your dreams tonight."
’Visit
in my dreams?’
Just imagining it made goosebumps crawl all over her skin. It was absolutely revolting.
Seeing how Celeste was humiliating her, Jocelyn Grant’s face flushed red with anger. "Shut up! So you admit it, don’t you? Everything in the Secret Realm was your doing."
"That’s right!"
Celeste Grant nodded. "Yep, I did it. I’m the type to own up to what I do, unlike so people who love doing shady things behind others’ backs and then playing the victim."
Jocelyn Grant: "It really was you! Celeste Grant, how could you be so vicious?"
She clenched her fists.
"Aren’t you afraid of retribution for what you did to
in the Secret Realm, for being so malicious?"
Hearing this, Celeste Grant gave a gentle smile. "My, my. Malicious and wicked? Are you talking about ? Jocelyn Grant, don’t act like you’re so saint. Everything I did, wasn’t it just what you tried to do to
first? You hypocrite, now that the shoe is on the other foot, you finally know what it feels like to be hurt. That’s not right. Are you saying only you can hurt , but I can’t hurt you back? This is what you call mutual destruction."
Jocelyn Grant’s expression was ugly.
But she still tried to argue, putting on an innocent and naive facade. "I was just trying to scare you back then, I didn’t an it. But you’ve targeted
ti and ti again. We’re even now, Celeste Grant! I don’t owe you anything."
Celeste Grant sized her up.
"Jocelyn Grant, I really underestimated the depths of your shalessness. ’Didn’t an it’? You think a stray dog on the street would believe that? ’We’re even’? Are you kidding ? Our relationship was always fated to be a matter of you dying..." She pointed at Jocelyn Grant, then at herself.
"...or
living."
’As the villainess, I have my professional ethics. I promised I’d be a stumbling block on her path to Cultivation, and I always keep my promises.’
Jocelyn Grant: "Celeste Grant, do you really have no regard for our sisterly bond?"
Celeste Grant: "Sisterly bond? What damn sisterly bond do I have with you? My parents only have one daughter. Who the hell do you think you are?"
"You shut up! Celeste Grant, do you think you’re so great just because you can cultivate now?"
As she spoke, she released the aura of the Late Stage of Golden Core. She lifted her chin slightly, looking at Celeste Grant with arrogance. "I bet you didn’t expect this, did you? I’ve already broken through to the Golden Core Stage. So what if you can cultivate now, Celeste Grant? I entered the Golden Core Stage at twenty. I’m a cultivation genius of the younger generation."
The implication was that even if Celeste could cultivate, she was still trash.
Jocelyn Grant was extrely proud of her Cultivation speed. Reaching the Golden Core Stage at twenty was a feat few could match, even in the entire Cultivation World.
"Not bad, Late Stage of Golden Core."
’I suspected she would break through to the Golden Core Stage soon, but I didn’t expect her to jump straight to the Late Stage. So, is this the protagonist’s special treatnt?’
She smiled faintly.
"It must be fate. Look, just like you, I’ve also broken through to the Golden Core Stage."
As she spoke, she raised a hand.
Then, she released her Cultivation of the Mid Stage Golden Core. It instantly radiated out from her, the powerful Spiritual Power blowing Jocelyn Grant’s hair back.
Jocelyn Grant’s eyes went wide.
"No, impossible!"
Her face was a mask of disbelief.
"You... Mid Stage Golden Core."
She had gone through hell and back to raise her Cultivation and break through to the Late Stage of Golden Core. She thought she could finally reclaim her dignity, but she never imagined Celeste Grant would have broken through as well.
"How could you possibly have reached the Golden Core Stage? Even if you grew a Spirit Root, you couldn’t possibly cultivate this fast!"
’She’s just a good-for-nothing!’
’How did she do it?’
"Don’t make such a big deal out of it. Didn’t you also break through to the Late Stage of Golden Core? You’re even stronger than ."
’Too bad her Cultivation is unstable, and her foundation is weak. This power was clearly forced. I wonder if her body will be able to handle it if she keeps breaking through like this. She might just explode. I’m actually a little excited to see it.’
Hearing this, Jocelyn Grant felt her confidence return.
’That’s right, so what if Celeste Grant broke through?’
’I’m already at the Late Stage of Golden Core, stronger than her. And isn’t there a family tournant today?’ At this thought, she spoke up: "Celeste Grant, you’re only acting so fearlessly because of that Nascent Soul expert by your side. Do you dare to have an honorable fight with —?"
Before she could finish, Celeste Grant’s figure flashed, and she appeared right in front of Jocelyn Grant, swinging a hand for a slap.
SLAP!
Jocelyn Grant’s face was knocked askew as she was sent flying, crashing through a wall. "So noisy. Who wants to have an ’honorable fight’ with you? Who do you think you’re insulting?"
Jocelyn Grant spat out a mouthful of blood.
’How could this be?’
’Isn’t she just at the Mid Stage Golden Core? How is she this strong?’
"Do you think you’ve won just because of this?"
She circulated her Cultivation, flew out from the rubble, and hovered in the air. Her red robes fluttered as she looked down imperiously.
’Looking at her like that, I have to admit, she has the aura of a protagonist.’
"Celeste Grant, you’ve gone too far! Today, I’ll show you that there’s always soone stronger!"
With a shout, the light of a sword flared in her hand. She swooped down, charging toward Celeste Grant, her blade radiating a brilliant glow.
"How arrogant, daring to fly higher than ."
Celeste Grant stood her ground, simply raising a hand and gesturing. "Get her."
The mont she finished speaking, Jocelyn Grant, who was still in the air, was kicked in the waist and sent flying. Nerida, who had appeared in a flash, struck her in the chest with a palm, causing her to spit blood and plumt from the sky.
The instant she hit the ground, Nerida, who had followed her down, grabbed her and slamd her headfirst into the dirt, leaving only the lower half of her body sticking out.
Belatedly, Jocelyn Grant ca to her senses and realized her hip was dislocated and her bones were broken. The pain caused her to spit out another mouthful of blood and let out a strangled, honking cry.
"HONK HONK... It hurts! AHHH!"
’That’s the sound.’
’So satisfying!’
