Chapter 167: Chapter 165: The Arrogant People of the Demonic Sects Crash a Wedding?
Now, with Jocelyn Grant in the clutches of Silas Stowe, a twisted drama of possessive love began—a frantic ga of cat and mouse where she had no hope of escape.
anwhile, sothing else was happening in the Bloodfiend Den.
The reason was that one of their Bloodfiend Den’s female cultivators, a woman nad Yvonne Sawyer, had gotten involved with the Young Sect Master of the Falling Snow Sect, one of the Seven Great Celestial Sects.
One was passionate as fire, the other a silent iceberg, and just like that, they fell in love. Word was, the Young Sect Master had confessed his desire to marry her, only to be beaten half to death by his own father, locked up, and forced into an engagent with soone else. The engagent ceremony was today. And so, the two poor souls were torn apart.
Celeste Grant listened, a look of surprise on her face.
’Isn’t this just the classic tale of the Immortal Sect’s Young Master and the Demonic Sects’ Enchantress?’
"How exciting. That girl’s really sothing. You’d never guess it, but when she makes a move, it’s for an Immortal Sect’s Young Sect Master."
This Yvonne Sawyer was Elder Sawyer’s niece, and he was grooming her as his successor. Even Elder Sawyer himself probably never imagined things would turn out this way. Good looks clearly ran in their family; Elder Sawyer, with his long white hair and youthful face, was ridiculously handso, and his niece was tall, slender, and gorgeous.
"I am ashad. I failed to teach the girl well."
He said, taking out the Law Enforcent Token.
"I ask The Exalted One and Madam to pass judgnt. This ti, the child Yana has made a mistake, and I failed to enforce the law impartially. I know that I am no longer worthy of wielding this token. I ask The Exalted One to take it back."
’As the elder of the Hall of Enforcent, my own niece getting involved with the Young Sect Master of the Falling Snow Sect has already brought sha upon our sect. And to top it all off, that irresponsible brat is now getting engaged to soone else. My girl was just abandoned? Unforgivable! As soon as I step down as elder, I’ll storm the Immortal Sect and wring their necks to consecrate my war banner!’
Javier Sinclair slamd his hand on the table.
His face was grim.
Elder Sawyer fell to his knees.
"The Exalted One, please forgive ."
Javier Sinclair turned to him and sneered. "What have you done wrong? You co reporting such a trivial matter? You’ve completely embarrassed ."
Celeste Grant chuckled and chid in. "What your Exalted One ans is that we can’t just let this go. A son-in-law chosen by our Bloodfiend Den is going to run away? Just grab your weapons, storm the Immortal Sect, and drag him back. Our heads can be cut off, our blood can be shed, but we cannot lose face. If we can’t even snatch one man, won’t people think The Demonic Sects have no one left?"
Elder Sawyer’s eyes widened.
’Just... snatch him?’
His gaze shifted to Javier Sinclair.
’Is that what The Exalted One ant?’
Javier Sinclair said flatly,
"Go. Take more n. And bring betrothal gifts. Don’t let people think our Bloodfiend Den is poor."
’If they won’t let him marry her, then he can marry into our family! We in The Demonic Sects don’t care for such strict social hierarchies.’
Celeste Grant burst out laughing.
"That’s our Exalted One for you... Going right for the psychological kill! HAHAHAHA."
Javier Sinclair said, "Take your token back. You may leave."
Elder Sawyer was deeply moved.
’That child Yana made such a huge mistake, yet The Exalted One and Madam aren’t blaming her. They’re even willing to clean up her ss.’
"I have failed you, The Exalted One."
"I know what must be done now."
With that, he stood, bowed deeply, and took his leave.
’If I don’t get our honor back today, my girl will beco the laughingstock of the entire Cultivation World. She’ll be judged and criticized by those people... Do they even have the right? This groom-snatching is happening. If we don’t, they’ll really think The Demonic Sects are a pushover.’
’It’s a matter of pride.’
’Even if we just snatch him and let him sit around, it’s fine.’
Celeste Grant tugged on Javier Sinclair.
"Co on, let’s go watch the fun."
When it was ti to depart,
Elder Sawyer looked up at The Exalted One and his retinue standing on the grand ship, and he froze for a mont.
’Such a small matter as a groom-snatching? The Exalted One and Madam are personally coming to back us up?’ At that mont, tears of gratitude stread down his face.
"The Exalted One... Madam."
"Old Man Lawson, you all..."
Elder Lawson replied, "It’s just a groom-snatching. If Yana likes him, we can go snatch eight or ten of them for her, not a problem."
Standing to one side, Yvonne Sawyer raised a hand.
"That won’t be necessary. Snatching just one will be enough."
Celeste Grant nodded.
"Snatch him. We must snatch him."
They were Demon Cultivators, after all.
As if they were supposed to reason with people.
Yvonne Sawyer looked a little embarrassed.
She bowed to Celeste Grant.
"Thank you, Madam. I, Yana, have brought sha upon you and The Exalted One."
Celeste Grant waved her hand dismissively.
"It’s a trivial matter."
And so, the grand procession from The Demonic Sects set off toward the Falling Snow Sect...
「At that mont, in the Falling Snow Sect.」
Victor Rhodes stared furiously at his father.
"I told you, I only want Yana in this life! I don’t want anyone but Yana! Have you ever cared about , not once, in my entire life? When you left
to fend for myself, to fight with dogs for scraps, you didn’t care about
then. Now that I don’t need you to care, you suddenly want to control ? By what right?"
Raymond Rhodes roared, "Insolence! I am your father! Everything I do is for your own good!"
"For my good? That’s a joke. It’s not for , it’s for your own status! Didn’t you drive my mother to her death for the sake of your position?"
His words hit a nerve.
His father slapped Victor Rhodes across the face.
"Shut your mouth! You’re fooling around with an enchantress from The Demonic Sects, and you think *this* is ’good’?"
"This marriage has already been arranged between myself and your senior uncle from the Crimson Sun Sect. You won’t be getting a bad deal."
"I’m not willing! Don’t you understand? If you like her so much, you marry her."
"You’ve been corrupted by that enchantress, talking back to
now. Soone, attend to the Young Sect Master and help him change. The people from the Crimson Sun Sect will be here soon."
Victor Rhodes’s cultivation was sealed, and he was immobilized, left at their rcy. He hated his own powerlessness. He also feared what foolish things Yana might do when she heard news of his engagent.
’Dammit.’
’If only I were stronger.’
’I wouldn’t be a puppet on a string like this.’
Today, the Falling Snow Sect was festively decorated in red from top to bottom.
Victor Rhodes was brought to the Grand Sect Hall and forced into an engagent ceremony with another female cultivator.
He was furious, but he couldn’t speak or move.
"The auspicious hour has arrived! The blood vow..."
Victor Rhodes’s heart trembled.
’What do I do?’
’Yana.’
’He only wanted Yana.’
His hand was grabbed, his finger was cut, and as he watched a drop of blood about to fall onto the marriage contract, his heart died.
In the Cultivation World, marriage contracts were sealed with blood and witnessed by the heavens. Breaking such a vow would surely result in a severe backlash.
He had already made up his mind. Even if it ant suffering the backlash himself, he would never let them get their way.
But just then,
The marriage contract in front of him instantly burned to ashes.
It wasn’t just the contract; the clothes of several people standing near him were also caught in the blaze, instantly incinerated, leaving them in nothing but their underpants.
These were people who were normally very concerned with their image. Having their clothes suddenly burned away, exposing their pale, flabby bodies, they reacted with flushed faces, scrambling to find sothing to cover themselves with.
"Who... Who dares cause trouble in my Falling Snow Sect?"
A voice echoed from the sky above.
"Your Falling Snow Sect seems quite lively."
The mont this voice was heard,
Everyone’s expression changed drastically.
Each one of them looked as if they were facing a formidable foe.
"Javier Sinclair?"
"The Blood-Venerate."
’Why is that demon Javier Sinclair here?’
Raymond Rhodes stood up.
All eyes turned to the outside.
A great ship had appeared in the sky, a group of people standing on its deck. The flag of the Bloodfiend Den fluttered from its mast, and nurous skulls hung from the hull. The mont the ship appeared, the sky filled with a dense, dark mass of people.
Their aura...
Seeing this display of force, everyone’s first reaction was the sa.
’The Demonic Sects are attacking!’
’Is a great war about to break out today?’
"I was not aware of The Blood-Venerate’s arrival. Please forgive my failure to welco you properly."
Raymond Rhodes stepped forward, offering a simple cupped-fist salute.
Javier Sinclair gave a cold laugh.
"Heh."
Raymond Rhodes felt the sting of humiliation.
’This demon is truly going too far.’
"Our Immortal Sects and your Demonic Sects have always stayed out of each other’s way. For The Blood-Venerate to bring his forces here today is rather inappropriate, isn’t it? Or are you trying to start an Immortal-Demon War?"
