Chapter 144: Chapter 142: This Crybaby is a Divine Artifact?

Hearing her son, Celeste Grant smiled. "It certainly is a treasure."

’The Divine Artifact the author planned for the heroine. But it’s ours now.’ A smug look crossed her face. ’The heroine can get lost and stay lost.’

’As a side character, if the book’s dear author won’t give

a power-up, I’ll just have to take one for myself.’

At that thought, she simply flipped off the air. ’Sorry, dear author, but your side character is going off-script.’

Aaron Sinclair asked, "Mom, what are you muttering about?"

Celeste Grant waved her hand and chuckled. "Haha, it’s nothing. Quick, look down below."

At that mont, the entire Silverstream Valley was wracked by landslides and fissures, the ground caving in like a tidal wave. At the sa ti, a massive tripod began to rise slowly from the earth.

Celeste Grant hovered in the sky above Silverstream Valley, her vantage point offering a crystal-clear view of everything below.

Before her eyes, the tripod was imnse, nearly covering the entire valley. The terrain was a deep gorge shaped like a ladle, and now, it was as if the tripod rested perfectly within its bowl. This ant the people of Silverstream Valley had, for generations, been living atop a Divine Artifact.

The Divine Artifact rose slowly into mid-air. It was a colossal bronze tripod that radiated an ancient aura. Handles flanked its sides, and rings of inscrutable red runes floated around its top.

The scene scread of high fantasy.

This was a scene that a TV show could never capture; it was sothing you could only witness in the Cultivation World.

Although, in terms of shape, it looked a lot like a giant cooking pot.

Even Celeste Grant had the urge to comnt. ’Now that’s a fine pot.’ If you used it for hot pot, you could feed ten thousand people.

Celeste Grant’s gaze was fixed on the giant tripod floating in mid-air, and she couldn’t help but murmur, "So this is the Divine Artifact, the Purple Fire Tripod."

’It looked truly majestic and imposing. How could I let the heroine get her hands on sothing this good? One look was all it took for

to know this thing was fated to be with my family.’

The Purple Fire Tripod ascended into the sky. From below in Silverstream Valley, it must have looked like a massive shadow blotting out the sun.

The giant tripod began to vibrate, a deafening roar filling the air. As soon as the sound began, even Celeste Grant felt a terrifying pressure emanating from the Purple Fire Tripod.

To keep the Purple Fire Tripod from escaping, Celeste Grant’s hands flew through a series of seals. As she channeled her magic, a chain materialized in her grasp. With a flick of her wrist, she sent it coiling around one of the tripod’s handles, pulling it taut.

It was just as she had expected; the Purple Fire Tripod was trying to flee the mont it erged. Luckily, Celeste Grant pulled with all her might and held it fast.

The tripod she held trembled, trying to get away. Then, Celeste Grant heard a child’s voice, one with a very cocky tone.

"Hey! Let go! I know I’m drop-dead gorgeous and that everyone wants a piece of , but I’ll never be yours! So just give it up, woman!"

"You might be a bit of a looker, but that’s no reason to grab

and not let go! I will never betray my master! Let go, or don’t bla

for what happens next! Let go! Let go, or I’m gonna get rough!"

"That voice?"

Celeste Grant’s eyes widened as she stared at the giant tripod before her.

"Was that you talking?"

She was sure of it now; the child’s voice was coming from the giant tripod floating before her. Celeste also sensed that, despite its threats, the tripod wasn’t actually attacking her.

At her question, the voice grew angry.

"Who do you think you’re looking down on? Look at you, you look like you’ve never seen anything in your life! I’m a Divine Artifact! Of course I can talk! What’s the big deal? Back in the day, my master and I wreaked havoc in the Upper Realm... Oh, right, my master! Where’d my master go? Where in the world did my master go?"

"Who... Who’s my master? Master, where are you? WAAAAH... Master... My handso, dashing, suave, and spectacular master, where did you go?"

Celeste Grant: "..."

’This tripod is surprisingly well-read. "Handso, dashing, suave, and spectacular"... who is it even talking about? I’ve never heard anything about the Purple Fire Tripod having a previous master.’

"WAAAH... My master... Do you rember your little tripod from Cerulea Cloudrest? D-do you have another tripod now? Is that why you don’t want

anymore? Oh, the cruelty!"

As it let out a great sob, she watched as streams of water began to gush from the tripod.

Celeste Grant stared, dumbfounded, unable to stop herself from saying, "This is utterly ridiculous."

’This crybaby is a Divine Artifact?’

’Is that water from its crying... are those tears?’

Celeste Grant rubbed her eyes in disbelief.

"What am I seeing?"

’A Divine Artifact can CRY!!!!’ She’d really seen it all now.

’It’s not strange for a Divine Artifact to be sentient and able to speak, but have you ever seen one that can cry like a fountain? And so sorrowfully, too.’

She was still holding onto the chain. With all this wailing, anyone who didn’t know the situation would think she was abusing a child.

The voice continued, unrelenting. "Let go! I don’t want to hurt you. I need to find my master! If you don’t let go and I accidentally hurt you, that’s on you!"

’It’s going to find its master?’

’Jocelyn Grant?’

’In the later parts of the book, although she wasn’t clear on so of the details, she knew this Purple Fire Tripod was Jocelyn Grant’s destined opportunity.’

’So that’s it. The Divine Artifact is so damn loyal, it’s going to run off to find Jocelyn Grant even though she’s not here.’

’If it had been awakened with Jocelyn Grant’s blood, it probably would have acknowledged her as master on the spot. But...’ Celeste’s thoughts were a jumble. ’No, that’s not right. According to the tripod, it had a master *before* Jocelyn Grant. It’s looking for its *original* master. So there’s only one possibility: Jocelyn Grant must have said sothing to make it willingly go with her.’

Just as the Purple Fire Tripod was about to struggle free from Celeste Grant and fly away, a figure appeared. It was Javier Sinclair.

He was the one who had gone down into the space where the Divine Artifact was sealed and released it. He just hadn’t expected it to try and flee the second it was free.

Javier Sinclair used his cultivation to instantly immobilize the Divine Artifact.

"Let

go."

"Let

go now!"

"Impossible! The laws of this world are incomplete. How can soone so powerful exist here? Who in the world are you?"

Javier Sinclair hovered in the air, a blood-red light flickering in the depths of his eyes as a black and red aura swirled around him.

"Form a contract with my son and beco his Magic Treasure, or be destroyed by . Pick one."

The Purple Fire Tripod struggled with all its might, but it was useless. "You’re ganging up on ! If my true form wasn’t damaged, a villain like you could never trap ! You’re bullying a tripod! This is just too much! Master, WAAAH... where are you? Help! Help ..."

Aaron Sinclair appeared. He had been concealing his presence nearby, waiting for a chance to help.

Now that his father had the tripod under control, he stopped hiding his presence and flew to his dad’s side.

He stared at the massive tripod in the air, his face filled with wonder.

"This tripod looks amazing! If I used it for alchemy, it would definitely never explode!"
