Chapter 132: Chapter 130: These People Have Designs on Her?

"You’re outsiders?"

"They really are outsiders."

The people before them wore the attire of an ethnic minority. Seeing them, words like "witchcraft" and "Poisonous Insect Technique" popped into Celeste Grant’s mind.

She waved. "Hello there."

An older-looking woman standing not far from her looked at her with excitent. "Miss, are you from the outside world?"

Celeste Grant nodded slightly.

"Yes, my husband and I ca here by accident. May I ask what this place is?"

’So, where did we get teleported to?’

Javier Sinclair froze for a mont, his gaze fixed on Celeste Grant. This was the first ti she had referred to him as her husband in front of others, and a warmth spread through his chest.

He reached out and placed a hand on her shoulder. "That’s right. This is my wife."

Celeste didn’t know what she had said wrong, but the woman who’d questioned her grew agitated. "Finally! Soone has finally co!"

The rest of the people beca equally excited.

Soone had finally co. They had been waiting for so, so long.

For nearly two hundred years. Finally, they had a chance to leave this godforsaken place.

Celeste Grant swept her Divine Sense over the people before her and froze. She saw a red insect inside each of their bodies, near their hearts.

’A red insect... Is that a Hex-bug?’

’No way!’

Celeste’s mind raced as she recalled plot points related to the Poisonous Insect Technique. A guess ford in her mind, but she still asked, "Can you tell

what this place is?"

The woman standing before her smiled faintly and said, "This is Silverstream Valley. I wonder if you’ve heard of it, madam."

’Silverstream Valley?’

’Silverstream Valley!’

Hearing the na, Celeste imdiately rembered so crucial plot points from the book. ’Well, I’ll be damned. It really is this place!’

Silverstream Valley was a place isolated from the rest of the world. It was a location that only appeared late in the book’s story. Celeste Grant never expected that a mishap with the Teleportation Array would bring her here.

The people living in Silverstream Valley were all ordinary mortals who couldn’t practice Cultivation.

’No, they aren’t exactly ordinary people, either.’

To achieve immortality, these people had turned themselves into The Hexed, attaining a so-called eternal life. In reality, they were just half-dead, like Corpse Demons. But sotis, people would do anything for longevity.

Celeste Grant looked at the people before her, and a chill ran down her spine as she recalled the original plot. Who could have imagined that these seemingly kind people were monsters who had lost all humanity?

As far as she knew, the original inhabitants of this place were pure-hearted and lived in peace, content with their simple lives. They worked from sunrise to sunset, and while they enjoyed raising Hex-bugs, they never used them to harm others.

But then a group of outsiders stumbled in and were injured by poisonous gas. The villagers saved them. However, when these outsiders learned that the Poisonous Insect Technique could be used to beco The Hexed and achieve immortality, they developed vicious intentions. They murdered everyone in the valley, stepping over their blood to achieve their so-called eternal life.

In turn, it was as if they had been cursed. They were left half-dead and trapped here, unable to leave. If they tried, they would turn to white bones and suffer a violent death.

The only way to break the curse was to feed the blood of a Cultivator to their Hex-bugs, then use the bugs in Alchemy to create a cure. After taking it, the Hex-bug would be removed, and they could leave. And though they would lose a significant portion of their lifespan, they could live as normal people again.

In the book, Jocelyn Grant arrived here much later in the story. She descended like a goddess and redeed these people. She also gained a Taoist Companion skilled in poisons, Timothy Ford, who was her last man.

The kindhearted Jocelyn Grant even collected the bones of the original villagers who had been murdered. On their behalf, she forgave their killers. In her words, ’The dead are already dead. The living must live on well. May they rest in peace.’

To think she’d actually ended up in Silverstream Valley... The plot had gone so far off the rails that even the author wouldn’t recognize it.

’Since I’m here, shouldn’t the protagonist, Jocelyn Grant, show up to join the fun?’ she thought.

Outwardly, however, her expression remained placid and unknowing. "No, I’ve never heard of it. What kind of place is Silverstream Valley?"

"It’s a small place. It’s normal that you haven’t heard of it."

’When we first ca here, we’d never heard of it either. And haven’t we lived here for nearly two hundred years all the sa?’

This place was too small. Having seen the outside world, being trapped here made every day feel like a year. There wasn’t a single mont they didn’t want to get out.

But this was a deep valley. They weren’t Cultivators, so they couldn’t fly out from above. The only path out was shrouded in a poisonous fog, making it completely impassable. The mont they stepped into it, they would turn to white bones and die a violent death.

When Javier Sinclair and his companion appeared, they had co flying in with a WHOOSH from a distance. The villagers knew at once that these two outsiders were Cultivators, which ant there was hope for them to escape.

No matter what it took, they had to keep these two here.

In the past, as ordinary people, they wouldn’t have dared to provoke anyone from an Immortal Sect. But now, thinking of how powerful their practiced Poisonous Insect Technique had beco, they instantly felt confident again. ’They’re just two random Cultivators. No one will ever know if they die here.’

At this mont, the people were incredibly enthusiastic.

"You can fly, so you must be from an Immortal Sect."

"We haven’t had outsiders here in a very long ti. Since you’re our guests, you must stay for a few days before you leave."

Javier Sinclair’s gaze swept over them.

’Heh. I don’t know what these people are planning, but their intentions are written all over their faces.’

Celeste Grant cut them off directly. "I’m sorry, but we don’t have ti right now. Once I find my son, I’ll definitely stay for a while."

"What? You’re leaving?"

Hearing that the two were about to leave, the expressions of everyone present changed in an instant.

Celeste Grant waved her hand, grabbed Javier Sinclair’s, and vanished on the spot. "Don’t worry, we’ll be back soon."

"Wait—"

But Celeste Grant and her companion were already gone.

"How could they just leave like that?"

"Why are they gone? It’s all your fault! Why didn’t you make them stay?"

"It’s been almost two hundred years! I want out! I want to get out!"

"Get lost! You think I didn’t want to? But they don’t play by the rules! They just left!"

"It’s all your fault for dawdling! Why didn’t you just use a Hex-bug on them? After all this ti, a living person finally shows up in this godforsaken place, and you just let them walk away! AHHH! It’s all your fault! Go die!"

Then, the amiable expressions on their faces twisted into ferocious snarls. They began to brawl, their faces contorted with rage. Soone was even stabbed, spilling green blood all over the ground, yet they did not die.

Concealed in the shadows, Celeste Grant watched this scene with a cold expression.

’These people are targeting , wanting my blood for their Hex-bug Alchemy. How audacious.’

’When I get back, I’ll kill them all.’

’But for now, I have to find my son first. I have no idea where he was teleported to, or if he’s in any danger.’
