Chapter 116: Chapter 114: Getting The Demonic Night Market Started (3)

News that the Demonic Sects had opened a night market quickly spread throughout the Cultivation World.

Everyone was curious. What exactly was a night market?

They had heard of black markets, but what was this night market? Weren’t stalls always set up during the day? Who in their right mind would set up a stall at night? And who would be bored enough to go browsing?

Driven by a desire to see what the fuss was about, so people ford groups, planning to investigate on opening day. Others went even earlier, before it opened, only to be stopped by Demon Cultivators and denied entry.

The Demon Cultivators didn’t drive them away, though. They were allowed to watch from nearby, as long as they didn’t go inside.

A sign was thoughtfully hung next to the Demonic Night Market, stating that before the grand opening, no one was allowed entry except for registered rchants.

Soone tried to take advantage of the pre-opening period to cause so destruction, even throwing an explosive talisman. But to their surprise, the night market had a complete Defense Array. It activated automatically when attacked from the outside, so the explosive talisman failed to cause even a scratch. Instead, the two saboteurs were caught by the Demon Cultivators who arrived on the scene.

It was none other than Elder Lowell, who had co to inspect the site, along with a few of his disciples.

The two n had filthy socks stuffed in their mouths and were being held down while soone slapped them across the face. SLAP! SLAP!

Elder Lowell said, "Well now, you’ve got so nerve, daring to cause trouble on my Demonic Sects’ territory. I see you’ve got a death wish, huh?"

"SLAP! SLAP..."

A few disciples from the Bloodfiend Den unleashed a flurry of punches and kicks on the two, without even using their Cultivation. It was just a straight-up beating, aid right at their faces.

These Demon Cultivators were all uniformly dressed in black clothes and cloaks, making it hard to tell them apart at a glance.

The ones being beaten could only make muffled cries, their faces already bruised and swollen. With the CRACK of bones, their faces were beaten crooked in just a few monts.

"Speak! Who sent you? Are you going to talk or not?"

"Still not talking? Keep hitting them."

Tears stread down the two saboteur Cultivators’ faces.

’This is so unreasonable!’

’Even if they want us to talk, they should at least take the things out of our mouths! These evil Demonic Sects shouldn’t exist. They’re too outrageous!’

At this point, one of the Demon Cultivators spoke up. "Elder Lowell, his lips are sealed tight. He won’t say who sent him."

"If he won’t talk, then he’s asking for a good kicking. One kick should do it."

Hearing this, the leading Elder Lowell sent one of them flying with a kick. The filthy sock finally fell out of the man’s mouth, and he let out a howl.

"Stop hitting ! You stuffed my mouth, how was I supposed to talk?"

Upon hearing this, the Demon Cultivators put their hands on their hips and laughed. "Heh, of course we knew you couldn’t talk. We were just looking for an excuse to beat you up."

"Exactly. We need a reason to hit people. The Madam said that our Bloodfiend Den is a respectable Demonic Sect. We don’t just act recklessly."

Elder Lowell let out a sinister chuckle.

He added silently in his heart, ’We just aren’t human when we do act recklessly. After all, people call us the goddamn Demon Cultivators for a reason.’

"You... you all... This is outrageous! The Bloodfiend Den, with all your crooked, demonic ways, a respectable Sect? You must be trying to fool ghosts!"

"So what if we are? Get lost."

"Still got a mouth on you, huh? You lot, break his arms and legs, cripple his Cultivation, and throw him far away. What an eyesore. Don’t let him ruin the fortune of this place."

"Yes, Elder."

"You... you wouldn’t dare."

"There’s nothing we don’t dare to do."

As they spoke, several Demon Cultivators went right to work, snapping the arms and legs of the two would-be saboteurs.

"Get outta here."

With their Cultivation crippled, the two were grabbed, swung around, and then flung toward the horizon. The crowd only saw a streak across the sky before they vanished from sight.

"Oho, they flew pretty far. We left you alive, so rember to live well, you hear? After all, you have a long life ahead of you."

’We really are too kind, HAHAHAHAHA!’

The onlookers who had gathered from a safe distance took a step back.

’These Demon Cultivators are so ruthless!’

’It’s a fate worse than death. Breaking their limbs and crippling their Cultivation... isn’t that more miserable than just dying?! Still, for their night market to have such a powerful Defense Array, it must be very safe.’

Having dealt with the troublemakers, Elder Lowell turned around with a smile. "My apologies for the scene, fellow Cultivators. A couple of blind fools showed up, but they’ve been dealt with. As you have all seen, the night market opened by our Demonic Sects is equipped with a very strong Defensive Array. It is quite safe here."

"We open in three days, at night. Everyone is welco to co and take a look. For those who co on opening night, we’ll even be giving away Spirit Stones—one for every person who shows up."

Here, his tone paused slightly before he continued, "We warmly welco any fellow Cultivators who co to the night market to shop or browse. However, if anyone uses this as an opportunity to cause trouble... well, those two small fry you just saw are an example of the consequences. It’s true we are Demon Cultivators, but we’re not crazy. We won’t start trouble, but our Demonic Sects have never been afraid of it, either."

’If it doesn’t work out, we’ll just fight. Simple as that.’

They wouldn’t be like those from the Immortal Sects, always hesitating and worrying about saving face. In their Demonic Sects, face was sothing to be maintained when necessary, and when it wasn’t, it was sold by the pound.

"Alright, nothing to see here. Everyone, disperse."

Soone walked over. It looked like a rchant who had seen a business opportunity and was interested in the night market.

"Excuse , is it true that rchants can really set up shop here, and that the first three months are free of charge?"

Elder Lowell smiled and nodded.

"Of course. Let’s go inside and discuss the details."

"Soone, prepare the finest spirit tea for this fellow Cultivator..."

The onlookers who witnessed this scene felt that the Demonic Sects’ style was... very different. ’Have these Demonic Sect people fallen into a pile of money?’

’Is this the sa Demon Cultivator who was twisting off people’s arms just a mont ago? His attitude changes so fast!’

「anwhile.」

The people from the Seven Great Celestial Sects who got the news were also curious. What were the Demonic Sects really trying to do by opening a night market? Were they really just selling things, or were they planning so shady business?

’No, we have to find out what’s going on.’

For the people of the Righteous Immortal Sects, the Demonic Sects were lifelong mortal enemies on their path of Cultivation. It was their duty to eliminate demons, defend the Righteous Path, and protect the common people. Therefore, they would never pass up any opportunity, no matter how small, to bring about their enemy’s downfall.

Take this ti, for instance. They had already thought of a way to use this opportunity to make the Demonic Sects go broke.

「Inside the Azure Sky Sect.」

The elder of Seven Vistas Peak looked at the promotional flyer his disciple had brought back. He stared at the words written on it, frowning slightly.

’Five Spirit Stones for every person who shows up? What kind of idiot in the Demonic Sects ca up with this? Aren’t they afraid of losing everything, down to their last pair of pants?’

’Just imagine, five Spirit Stones per person. What if tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, or even more people go? Let’s see if they can afford to give that many away.’

"Giving away Spirit Stones... I’d like to see just how many Spirit Stones you have to give."

If there was one thing the Seven Great Celestial Sects had in abundance, it was disciples.

Thinking of this, the elder of Seven Vistas Peak began to smile.

"Soone, pass down my order to the disciples of the Sect. In three days, they are to go to the Demonic Night Market to collect their Spirit Stones. Tell them to take the stones and leave, no need to be polite. It’s a free giveaway, so why not take them? Who knows where they plundered that ill-gotten wealth from anyway."

"Yes, Elder."

"Demon Cultivators... I’ll let you run wild for a few more days..."
