Chapter 789: Chapter 779: Causing Aunt to Laugh
Jiang Ning thought for a mont and asked Gucheng, “What do you think the chances are of getting Gufeng to stay with ?”
Gucheng thought seriously, then shook his head, “I don’t know.”
“Why do you say that?”
“Generally speaking, it’s impossible. However, Gufeng made a mistake and deserved to die originally. Seventh Miss saved him, maybe the General would agree.”
“Really?”
Jiang Ning began to calculate in her heart.
Her own martial arts skills were virtually negative, and learning self-protection wasn’t an overnight task. Ever since Gucheng had co to her side, her sense of security had increased greatly.
But after all, Gucheng was only one person, and he acted alone like an owl. Even after knowing him for so long, Jiang Ning still felt that she was close yet distant from him, unable to guess his thoughts.
Most importantly, Jiang Ning didn’t want him to be too tired.
At Gucheng’s age and physical condition, it was the ti to be lively and active. However, he suddenly fell seriously ill, and it might not have been without reason due to overexertion.
Jiang Ning didn’t want him to guard her side day and night. If soone could take turns with him, it would be more than perfect.
With a plan in her mind, she turned and headed towards Jiang Mubai’s study.
Although Jiang Mubai was a military general, his accomplishnts in literature were no worse than Jiang Ruobai’s.
Both of these brothers who graduated from Spring Autumn Academy were talented in both literature and martial arts, but one beca a civil official while the other beca a military general, leaving completely different impressions on people afterward.
People who didn’t know the situation thought Jiang Ruobai was just a scholar with no power to bind a chicken, but he was actually good at horse riding and archery.
Most people naturally assud Jiang Mubai was a rugged, powerful figure, unaware that he was good at poetry, song and writing, and his calligraphy was as lively and powerful as any master of painting and calligraphy.
When Jiang Ning entered the room, the general was standing behind a desk, admiring a piece of writing.
“Uncle, I thought you were still helping my parents.” Jiang Ning smiled.
“I ca back when Sixth Sister left. Nothing more to do. Co, co, Seventh Sister, you ca right on ti.” Jiang Mubai waved with a smile, “What do you think of this new piece of writing I got?”
Jiang Ning took a closer look and exclaid in amazent, “My goodness, which master’s masterpiece is this? Let think, is it Master Liu’s or Master Su’s? This boldness and sense of killing… it can’t be Master Liu, can it? But I’ve seen so of his authentic works, and none of them are as good as this one.”
She looked at Jiang Mubai, asking humbly, “Uncle, whose unknown masterpiece is this?”
Jiang Mubai burst out laughing.
“This child’s discerning eye isn’t very good.” Madam Ge entered the room with tea, smiling softly, “Seventh Sister, I just ca back from your mother’s side and I heard you’re here. I brought you so snacks.”
Jiang Ning hurriedly reached out to take them, “Aunt, let .”
“Don’t touch it, be careful of getting burnt. This tea was just poured.” Ms. Ge stopped her quickly, afraid that she would really get burnt, “You sit down and wait for the tea to cool before I give it to you.”
Jiang Ning obeyed with a smile, “I haven’t read many books, so I made Aunt laugh.”
Upon hearing this, Jiang Mubai glared fiercely at his wife, “What are you laughing at? Don’t you think my writing is good?”
Jiang Ning was shocked, “What? This is actually Uncle’s own handwriting? Really? Uncle is actually a master of calligraphy?”
