Chapter 730: Chapter 719: Being Followed
Qiao Jing pursed her red lips, tapping on the screen to reply:
“You know very well whether you’re faking illness or not, I’ll be coming over tomorrow for your re-examination.”
After sending that ssage, she put away her phone and stopped paying attention to Wu Xirui.

Qiao Jing and Zhan Nanqing walked out of the research institute together.
While walking, Zhan Nanqing was scrolling through videos on her phone and beca excited when she saw a new tasty shop opened by a certain store, enthusiastically grabbing Qiao Jing’s hand.

“I have to go and re-examine Wu Xirui later.”
Even though she was aware that Wu Xirui claiming to be unwell yesterday was quite likely untrue, it was indeed ti for his dical re-examination.

“Okay, then can I co with you?”
Even though her family had recently had so business friction with Wu Xirui, it didn’t affect her desire to supervise him and prevent him from getting close to Qiao Jing.

She could acutely sense that these people were definitely not bodyguards sent by Zhan Qipei.
Because the bodyguards Zhan Qipei sent would maintain a certain distance from her, but these people were indeed sowhat closer.
Qiao Jing pursed her lips again, took a few quick steps forward, pretending she wanted to turn her head back to speak with Zhan Nanqing.
“Nanqing, where are you planning to go later?”

“Soone is following us.”

Could it have been sent by Zhan Kaiyang? But logically speaking, their audacity shouldn’t be great enough to make a move near the research institute.
Upon hearing this, Zhan Nanqing was startled, her eyes widening slightly.
“Aren’t those bodyguards sent by my brother?”
Qiao Jing’s delicate brows furrowed, and she squinted her phoenix eyes slightly. Using Zhan Nanqing’s body as cover, she glanced behind them again, trying to gather more information about those people.
Perhaps they had sensed her scrutiny, as the group hid themselves away, refusing to co out into the open.
She whispered, audible only to the two of them, “No.”
Zhan Nanqing now felt sowhat panicked, warily observing her surroundings.
“Should we call the police then? Who are they following?”
She had thought they were bodyguards sent by her brother, but they weren’t.
Seeing Zhan Nanqing beginning to panic, Qiao Jing imdiately looped her arm through the other’s, letting her lean on herself, while her other hand pressed down on Zhan Nanqing, preventing her from looking around indiscriminately.
Upon considering who the group might be targeting, her eyes darkened.
“We don’t know yet who they are following, let’s split up and contact each other later. Don’t look around anymore; we must avoid startling them.”
She could feel that those who were following them were most likely after her.
Because just monts earlier, she had unintentionally caught a glimpse of a pair of blue eyes, fixed intently on her.
Blue eyes… certainly not those of soone from the empire.
If Zhan Nanqing continued to walk with her, she could likely beco a liability.
After hearing Qiao Jing’s words, Zhan Nanqing didn’t dare to look around anymore and looked worriedly at her companion.
“But… if they’re after you and I leave, what will happen? You’re pregnant now, and if sothing happens… No, we should stick together!”
If those people were targeting Qiao Jing, then leaving her alone would be dangerous, especially since she was currently pregnant with triplets!

She had certain self-defense capabilities, while Zhan Nanqing was completely defenseless. Staying together would definitely slow her down.
Zhan Nanqing hesitated for a long while before finally agreeing to split up.
“Qiao Jing, be careful. I know you’re capable, but you’re pregnant. If they’re after you, don’t fight them. I’ll contact my brother imdiately,” she said.
Qiao Jing gave a light nod and walked in a different direction.
Zhan Nanqing wanted to stand still and watch Qiao Jing walk away, but the situation was too urgent, she couldn’t stop; otherwise, she might be discovered.
She bit her lip and hurriedly turned to leave.
A few minutes after Zhan Nanqing left, she felt like no one was following her at all.
She imdiately stopped, turned to check, and found that indeed no one was trailing her, which made her heart sink.
If no one was following her, that ant those people’s target was Qiao Jing!
With this thought, Zhan Nanqing shakily took out her phone from her pocket and called Zhan Qipei.
“Doot—Doot—”
She dialed for quite a while, but until the call disconnected, no one answered.
Zhan Nanqing quickly called Tang Yan, only to find the sa result: no one answered.
