Silph also stared back at him, bloodshot eyes wide with fear.

Logan was not a bloodthirsty killer by nature. Before being thrust into this world, he had been nothing more than an ordinary graduate in his ho country, just another weary salaryman in the grind of society. But thanks to years of devouring countless web novels, he had at least gained one important insight: when faced with choices that determined life or death, he could make the most logical decision without hesitation.

People often said a book was like another life. To carefully read a novel was to live through a life that wasn't your own. And though web novels were often dismissed as low-brow entertainnt, no one could deny this truth—they were still books, still lives in words.

Through those countless stories, Logan had seen it all—victories, betrayals, prosperity, destruction. Reality would never fully mirror fiction, of course. Yet, when everything was laid before him in this very mont, he found himself standing steady, unshaken.

Maybe… maybe fusing with wtwo's cells changed more than I realized.

He sighed inwardly. wtwo, the Pokémon said to have the most violent heart of all. To think its DNA had no effect on his own personality? Impossible. Logan had prepared himself to act decisively when needed, but to feel nothing as death unfolded before him—that was undeniably wtwo's influence.

And so—

"Jolteon, Thunder Wave!"

In the panic-filled reflection of Silph's bloodshot eyes, Logan's Eevee leapt from his arms, evolving midair into a Jolteon. Its body crackled with electricity as invisible pulses of electromagnetic energy filled the spacious office. Within seconds, every piece of electronic equipnt sparked, circuits sizzling and burning out with violent crackles.

"Now—Thunder Fang!"

The Jolteon snarled, its fangs wreathed in searing lightning. In the blink of an eye, it lunged and sank its teeth into Silph's body. Muffled by the gag in his mouth, the man could only produce guttural "mmph! mmph!" sounds as he convulsed. His eyes bulged grotesquely, his body lit with electric arcs. Within monts, his organs were cooked from the inside, heat rising from his body as life fled him completely.

The mission accomplished, Jolteon's body shimred and reverted back to its Eevee form, bounding happily into Logan's arms, where it was rewarded with a gentle pat on the head.

To Pokémon, morality didn't exist. There was no concept of good or evil—only the will of their trainer. Even a Pokémon like Eevee, who had once suffered mistreatnt, bore no concept that "because I was hurt, I cannot hurt others." No. If Logan gave the order, it would obey.

In fact, being praised by Logan ant more to Eevee than anything. If he wanted it to kill a man, it would. If he wanted it to slaughter dozens, it would do that too—all with the sa wagging tail, all for his approval.

Weapons had no inherent morality. Only the hands that wielded them gave them aning. Humans labeled things good or evil, but Pokémon? They were only ever what their trainers made them.

"By destroying every hidden cara in this office with Thunder Wave, then killing Silph with electricity, you've made it look like Lt. Surge was responsible. Even if his body is discovered, suspicion will fall only on him. And even if both Surge and I denied it, who would believe us? We're already condemned as mbers of Team Rocket. Logan, you truly are cautious—never leaving anyone an opening to exploit."

Giovanni praised him with a dark smile.

Suddenly, Giovanni shrugged off his suit jacket, revealing six Poké Balls that clattered onto the carpet, rolling slightly before stopping. "Silph is dealt with. That ans it's ti for our business. As the Gym Leader of Viridian City, I challenge you to a true man-to-man battle. What do you say, Logan? Do you have the courage to accept?"

The six Poké Balls glinted on the floor.

Logan's eyes narrowed, staring at Giovanni for a long, silent mont before his lips curled upward. "…Fine. Let's do it. A battle between n, Giovanni."

He recalled his Eevee, slipping its Poké Ball back onto his belt. Then, with both hands, he tossed out his remaining four Pokémon, their Poké Balls clattering and mixing with Giovanni's six across the floor.

Giovanni sat back in his chair. Logan leaned forward on the sofa. Both n's eyes glead with the sa sinister satisfaction, as if their sches had aligned perfectly.

anwhile, elsewhere, Green's battle against Sabrina had reached a fever pitch.

Contrary to Logan's expectations, Green was actually dominating the fight!

Sabrina's Alakazam was powerful, yes, but it was her only Pokémon in this battle. Against Green's full team, that left her at a severe disadvantage. Her reputation as a psychic prodigy ant little here. Instead, Green's trickery and relentless tactics left Sabrina battered, her Team Rocket uniform torn in several places.

Beneath the tattered uniform, her flawless, snow-white skin was revealed. Green grinned mischievously, her tone playful as she taunted, "Sabrina, you should just give up already! No wonder your skin looks so dry—you're always frowning and stressing out."

Yet, even as she mocked her, Green couldn't deny the truth. Sabrina wasn't just beautiful; she was breathtaking. Her aura, her poise, even her skin—silken and luminous, the kind that seed to glisten with every subtle movent.

Still… why hadn't Sabrina summoned Moltres? After the battle at Cinnabar Island, had the fiery legendary stopped obeying her? Was Sabrina no longer in control of it?

Green's brow furrowed. Even if Sabrina had deployed her other Pokémon to guard Saffron, she should still have Moltres at her side. Green had prepared herself specifically to face that monster—prepared not to faint outright in its presence.

But why wasn't it here?

The question, however, was quickly drowned out by her excitent. If Sabrina wasn't using Moltres, her path to victory was clear.

But Green's greatest weakness… was her tendency to get carried away.

"You sharp-tongued little brat," Sabrina sneered, arms folding across her chest as she floated calmly above the battlefield. "Let's see if you're still smiling after this. The ti has co to end this."

Her voice was cold, sharp as ice.

She raised her hand slowly, two fingers pinching a badge between them—the Saffron Gym Badge. Green's eyes widened in shock, preparing for Moltres to erupt forth…

But then she noticed sothing else.

Between Sabrina's fingers weren't just one badge… but three.

Saffron's badge. Vermilion's badge. And Fuchsia's badge.

Green's heart skipped a beat. "Impossible… How do you have three badges? Then who exactly are Surge and Koga fighting outside with Red and Blue?"

Sabrina's smile was like the cut of a knife. "The badges given to ordinary trainers are nothing more than fakes. The true ones—the ones that command Zapdos and Articuno—have always been in my hands."

The revelation hit Green like a thunderbolt.

"Throughout history, humans who tried to command legendary Pokémon all shared the sa fate—death. Every single one. To covet the power of gods is to die. That is the law of the world. None have escaped it."

Sabrina lowered herself gracefully to the floor, her Alakazam panting heavily at her side. Yet her gaze never wavered, sharp and full of cruel clarity.

"Tell , girl. You're well-read, aren't you? Do you know the only way a human can command a legendary Pokémon?"

Green swallowed hard, hesitant, but answered honestly. "…Unless one uses force to control them, the only way is if the Pokémon's will and the human's will align—if their goals are the sa. Only then can they cooperate… temporarily."

Knowledge that had once been whispered to her by the shadowy figure who captured her.

"Correct," Sabrina said coldly. "But rember this—the gods never truly stand with humans. They are the destroyers of civilizations, not saviors. Perhaps for a mont, they may ally with a human. But never… never for a lifeti. No one has ever made a god truly theirs."

Her eyes narrowed. "The reason? Human lives are too short. Compared to the endless lifespans of gods, humans are nothing. Our wills cannot truly align. We cannot understand them. And so, from the beginning of ti until now, no human has ever bound a god forever."

Her lips curled into a faint smile. "Well… perhaps one did. But that 'god' was a man-made one. An exception. A copy. Not the real thing."

Logan and wtwo.

The thought crossed Green's mind imdiately.

But why was Sabrina telling her all this?

Was it to hint that true permanence could only be achieved if human and Pokémon wills fused absolutely? Was she trying to lecture her in the middle of battle?

But no researcher of myths would call this secret knowledge. Anyone with access to records knew it.

Then Sabrina's tone shifted, sharp and dangerous. "Since true gods cannot be mastered, the next best option… is the mythical Pokémon. They lack divine authority, but they are immortal, capable of regeneration, and far stronger than common Pokémon. Best of all… commanding them requires no sacrifice from humans."

Her eyes glead as she took a step forward. "And since you fear birds more than anything, let show you Team Rocket's masterpiece—apart from wtwo itself. Behold… the Three Legendary Birds!"

For once, Sabrina smiled beautifully, her icy deanor breaking into sothing hauntingly enchanting. Her lips curved upward, her long eyes glimred with malicious delight.

And as her smile deepened, the illusions around them shattered.
