The cold wind swept across the snowfield, where an ancient titan lay, the ground around it scarred with deep trenches and destruction.

With Regigigas now asleep, the three Regis stopped moving, standing by its side like sentinels.

Thud—

Flint and Aaron collapsed onto the ground, letting out long sighs of relief.

"It's finally over."

Between the two of them, they had sent out twelve Pokémon in total, and only four were still standing...

Lucian was exhausted too, but he managed to maintain his composure, leaning against Bronzong and adjusting his glasses.

Looking at the sleeping Regigigas, softly snoring, Lucian muttered in awe, "Johan is incredible!"

Defeating Regigigas?

That was probably impossible.

But putting it to sleep? That was another way of "winning."

Seeing the light fade from ga Evolution, returning Gengar to its normal form, Lucian felt a surge of curiosity.

ga Evolution?

What kind of power was that?

ga Gengar felt significantly stronger after evolving—maybe not enough to match Regigigas outright, but its hypnosis ability had definitely improved.

Well, that was a question for later.

Johan, having finished the ga Evolution, turned a little pale, his body swaying slightly as if he could collapse at any mont.

"You okay?"

Fortunately, Cynthia caught him in ti.

Johan shook his head.

ga Evolution still took a toll on him, and with his Aura almost completely drained, his body felt utterly exhausted.

"Milotic, Life Dew."

"Draaa~~"

Cynthia's Milotic gently swayed its tail, releasing a soothing blue light that wrapped around Johan, making him feel significantly better.

Then, Johan pulled out a Sitrus Berry and started eating.

"Johan, give one too."

Flint and Aaron, helping each other up, walked over. Flint imdiately reached out.

Johan wasn't stingy—he handed out berries all around.

Lucian hesitated, looking at the Sitrus Berry in his hand, then at Flint and Johan casually eating them alongside their Pokémon.

Wait...

Aren't these supposed to be Pokémon food?

"What about Regigigas?" Cynthia asked once Johan had recovered.

Although it looked like Regigigas was sleeping soundly now...

It hadn't reverted to its dormant "Stone of Light" state, and the three Regis remained standing guard.

If Regigigas woke up angry again...

Johan waved a hand dismissively.

"Yeah, its wake-up mood swings are a bit intense."

In the Pokémon world, plenty of legendary Pokémon had serious temper issues after waking up.

Groudon and Kyogre in Hoenn, for example.

Or Yveltal in Kalos...

"But right now, it's probably having a nice dream."

Johan glanced over at the giant.

Although ga Gengar had orchestrated the hypnosis, Johan and Ninetales had intervened to ensure it wasn't a nightmare.

After all, what kind of nightmare would work on Regigigas?

Throwing it into a fight against Giratina?

It would probably start a dream battle with it.

A good dream was the better option.

"That's a relief," Flint and Aaron sighed in unison.

They really didn't want to fight Regigigas again.

A single punch from that thing could take out an entire squad—who could handle that?

"But the volcano—"

Lucian hesitated before bringing it up, knowing it would kill the mood.

But with Regigigas asleep, that was now their next big problem.

The human-caused volcanic eruption!

The very thing that had enraged Regigigas in the first place!

"Let the big guy rest first."

Johan continued, "Once it's in a better mood, I'll try talking to it."

Honestly, Regigigas wasn't that difficult to communicate with.

When Johan had pretended to be an emissary of Rayquaza earlier, Regigigas—despite its rage—had still been sowhat willing to listen.

The problem was just...

The sheer level of anger from being woken up.

Even if Rayquaza itself had co, Regigigas probably would've fought first and talked later.

It felt like the kind of Pokémon he could actually build a friendship with.

After resting for a while...

Johan felt ready.

He stretched, standing up and slowly approaching Regigigas.

"Regi!"

Regice, Regirock, and Registeel imdiately turned their attention to him, their postures tensing.

Johan didn't go too close.

He stopped at a safe distance, with Cynthia and the Pokémon by his side.

He closed his eyes again.

A soft pulse of Aura spread from his body.

At the sa ti...

Johan noticed sothing.

His Aura felt stronger, more refined than before.

Could he finally use Aura Sphere?

With that thought, he used his Aura to "enter" Regigigas' dream.

Since he was the one who had created this dreamscape, he had left himself a "backdoor" in.

Inside the Dream—

In a vast, icy snowfield, a natural hot spring bubbled with warmth, steam rising into the cold air.

A shrunken-down Regigigas—less than four ters tall—lounged lazily in the water, a small white towel on its head, its face tinged red with relaxation.

Johan arrived, wearing a bath towel around his waist, stepping into the hot spring.

"Regi?"

Regigigas finally noticed him, blinking in mild confusion.

And a little irritation.

Even in a dream, it rembered what had happened before.

This human had thrown a ton of debuffs on it, and that Gengar...

Had mooned it.

But Johan just smiled.

He hadn't co empty-handed.

A floating wooden tray drifted across the water.

On it were all kinds of food—Pokéblocks, Poffins, fresh berries, Moomoo Milk, and juice.

Dream food was free, after all.

Seeing the feast, Regigigas imdiately forgot about being mad, swallowing its saliva.

When Johan nudged the tray toward it, Regigigas didn't hesitate, grabbing a handful.

Johan had always wondered—how did Pokémon like Regigigas and the Regis eat?

He quickly got his answer.

Regigigas scooped up a handful of Pokéblocks, and the food simply dissolved into its body.

So that's how it eats?

"Regi!"

Its signal lights flashed in a strange rhythm.

"Well? How's it taste?" Johan asked.

[Pretty good~]

Regigigas leaned back lazily in the hot spring, giving a satisfied sigh.

Seeing it like this, Johan rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

So this was probably the state Professor Oak's Pokédex described.

That would explain a lot.

Using food as an icebreaker was always effective.

Whether for regular Pokémon or legendary ones.

Especially for a big, goofy legendary like this.

With the ice broken, this was Johan's specialty—Pokémon psychology.

"Sorry about what happened, Regigigas. We didn't an to make you mad."

[I wasn't mad!]

"You weren't?"

[No!]

"Here, have so more Moomoo Milk to calm down."

[Well... I do have a little trouble sleeping.]

"A little trouble? You sleep for hundreds of years."

Still...

"I can help with that. Putting Pokémon to sleep is my specialty," Johan grinned.

[Really?]

Johan gestured at their surroundings.

"Aren't you having the best sleep right now?"

Regigigas blinked.

Was it awake or asleep right now?

And if it was asleep...

Had it actually eaten anything?

"Regi...?" (Confused noises.)

"Anyway, when you wake up, I'll get you a real al, and then... I'll help you sleep even better."

[Hey, you're actually a pretty nice guy!]

And so...

Man and Pokémon soaked in the hot spring, chatting away.

When they got to Regigigas' legendary feats, the titan got excited and slung an arm around Johan.

[I tell ya, back then—massive teors, shifting continents, crazy flas—I was there for all of it—]

...Why hadn't Johan realized earlier that Regigigas had such a thick accent and was a total chatterbox?
