The north wind howled, but it didn't feel cold or harsh. Instead, it carried a refreshing warmth, like a gentle spring breeze.
This was likely why Suicune was called the "Pokémon embodying the gentle spring waters."
On the boat...
As Johan sailed under Suicune's guidance, he couldn't help but think:
Could those trainers at Cerulean City's Pokémon Center be after Suicune?
The boat, now under the pull of the north wind and the river's current, eventually drifted to a natural basin surrounded by forest.
On the shore...
"Ka-kah?"
Gengar and Johan's team disembarked, looking around curiously.
"Why did Suicune bring us here?" Johan muttered.
But when they turned back, Suicune had already disappeared.
With no other option, Johan and his team ventured into the forest ahead.
"Stay alert," Johan reminded them.
Unknown forests often teed with wild Pokémon, and so could be aggressive. A surprise attack was always possible.
The Pokémon nodded, but an air of excitent sparkled in their eyes.
"Cha-cha~!"
Tinkaton swung its hamr energetically, speaking in hushed tones.
This feels like a little expedition!
"Ka-kah~!"
Gengar fully agreed, puffing out its chest.
This is a proper Pokémon Adventure Squad!
Even Kubfu nodded solemnly, caught up in the enthusiasm.
Johan sighed and rubbed his temples.
"Seriously? With all the exploring you've done in the Isle of Armor, are you really this excited about a forest?"
The forest trail...
Following Dragonair's lead, Johan and his team crossed a small stream and ca to a gently sloping hill.
At the top of the slope, they spotted a weakened Magnemite lying on the ground.
"Magnemite?" Johan's expression grew serious as he approached the small Electric-type.
The Magnemite struggled to rise when it saw them, but its movents were weak.
"Ka-kah~"
Gengar erged from Magnemite's shadow, waving its hands to signal they ant no harm.
However, Gengar's sharp grin had the opposite effect, causing Magnemite's eye to roll back montarily.
"Driii..."
Dragonair descended gracefully, but it was Vulpix's soft cooing that cald Magnemite.
Magnemite seed to relax a bit, though it still appeared drained.
Johan crouched beside it, observing its condition.
"It doesn't look injured. Could it be... out of power?"
Magnemite relies on electrical energy to float. Without it, it loses the ability to stay airborne.
Johan gently exuded his Aura to reassure the Magnemite of his intentions. With a glance at Gengar, he signaled for assistance.
Zap!
Gengar smirked, conjuring a small spark of electricity.
The faint arcs of energy were carefully absorbed by Magnemite, whose eye brightened slightly.
"Draa~!"
Dragonair landed nearby, gesturing with its tail toward the top of the hill.
It reported that a structure, possibly abandoned, stood there—along with signs of human activity.
"Humans?" Johan frowned.
The ntion of humans in the wilderness stirred mories of poachers, leaving Johan wary. Still, he chose not to jump to conclusions.
"Carry it carefully, Tinkaton," Johan instructed.
Tinkaton bead and gestured confidently. "Cha~!"
It placed its hamr on the ground, allowing Magnemite to stick to its tallic surface.
"Thud!"
Magnemite attached itself to the hamr like a magnet, looking around in mild confusion.
With Magnemite safely secured, Johan and his team climbed the hill.
At the summit...
The group erged onto a plateau dominated by an old building.
"Is that... the Abandoned Power Plant?" Johan murmured.
The structure, with its rusted tal walls and towering antennas, was unmistakable.
Suicune's silhouette flickered in the distance before vanishing once more.
Behind the building, Johan spotted several more weakened Magnemite.
Their dim glow and sluggish movents mirrored the one they had just rescued.
"These Magnemite... they look like they've been drained of electricity," Johan said, his concern deepening.
Tinkaton's hamr now resembled a mobile magnet, with a growing number of Magnemite clinging to it.
"Draa!" Dragonair pointed out human activity near the building, its tone cautious.
Johan furrowed his brow. "Gengar, scout it out."
"Ka-kah!"
Gengar gave a thumbs-up and vanished into the shadows.
Monts later, a blood-curdling scream pierced the air.
"G-G-GHOST!!!"
A loud crash followed as sothing—or soone—hit the ground.
Johan quickened his pace, turning the corner to find Gengar scratching its head, looking unimpressed.
In front of it lay a young man in a lab coat, unconscious on the ground. His ssy blond hair looked like a bird's nest, and his red-frad glasses hung crookedly.
"Ka-kah~" Gengar shrugged innocently.
All I did was pop out of the wall.
Johan stared at the fallen researcher, a sense of déjà vu washing over him.
"Isn't that...?"
Before he could place the face, two more figures appeared—a middle-aged man and a young woman, both also in lab coats.
"More poachers?" the man asked, flanked by a vigilant Yamper.
The woman, calm and composed, assessed the situation carefully.
When their eyes t Johan's, they froze.
"Johan?!"
Johan sighed. "Professor Cerise. Chrysa."
The two figures were none other than Professor Cerise and his assistant, Chrysa, from the Cerise Laboratory in Vermilion City.
The unconscious man? None other than Ren, Cerise's other assistant.
"Of all the people to run into out here..." Johan muttered under his breath.
So ti later...
After Ren was revived (and fainted again upon seeing Gengar), the situation was clarified.
Professor Cerise and his team had been investigating electrical disturbances in the area.
Unstable power readings and sightings of weakened Electric Pokémon had led them to suspect poachers were stealing electricity from the abandoned power plant.
However, sothing more mysterious seed to be at play.
"This place feels... off," Chrysa admitted.
Johan nodded. "I thought it might be poachers too, but Suicune led here. There's more to this than we know."
"Suicune?!"
Professor Cerise's team was floored by the revelation.
Before Johan could elaborate, Ren's shout interrupted them:
"Professor! There's an intense energy spike on the monitors!"
A brilliant bolt of lightning crashed down, illuminating the darkening sky.
The roar of thunder reverberated through the air as the group turned toward the power plant.
Golden arcs of electricity danced through the tal structure, crackling ominously.
Johan narrowed his eyes at the sight, muttering to himself:
"...Why does this feel familiar?"
Could it be?
Is Raikou here?
