As Dragonite landed, Julian got off from its back. Sceptile did not attack, seemingly waiting for him to get down.

Sceptile: "Now we can start the battle, right?"
It looked at Dragonite and tagross, eyes full of excitent—almost like a pet, eager to challenge them both.
Then, it pointed at tagross.
Sceptile: "You."
Earlier, tagross had smashed its Energy Ball with a single punch, to Sceptile, it felt even stronger than Dragonite.
Julian chuckled: "You really picked a good opponent."
"ta~"
tagross floated forward, facing Sceptile, it had been a while since it last fought—a little warm-up wouldn’t hurt.
But Julian shook his head. "tagross, no need to use a sledgehamr to kill a chicken, let Gengar take this one."
Sceptile was only at the early Elite level, with tagross' strength it would be defeated in just a few moves.
A battle like this wouldn’t even count as a warm-up—so there was no point, might as well let another teammate handle it.

tagross nodded, uninterested in fighting Sceptile anyway.
Seeing tagross floating away instead of fighting, Sceptile was imdiately unhappy, but before it could protest, Gengar erged from Julian’s shadow.
"He’ll be your opponent," Julian said.

Sceptile: "Just him?!"
It looked at Gengar with disdain, Gengar wasn’t even at the peak of pseudo-Elite tier—not worth its ti.

Gengar, however, wasn’t the least bit offended, instead, it grinned at Sceptile.

The bracelet on Julian's wrist glowed in rainbow colors, and at the sa ti, Gengar’s body radiated with the sa brilliant light.

ga Gengar grinned wickedly, staring at Sceptile.
At this mont, Sceptile's expression finally changed—no longer carefree or dismissive.
It didn’t understand why Gengar’s strength had suddenly increased so much, but aura radiating from its opponent made one thing clear:

Julian’s mouth twitched slightly, this Sceptile... Why does it feel like a battle-hungry ani protagonist?
A single leaf drifted from the trees, falling gently through the air, as if it was a signal for battle to begin, Sceptile vanished from its original position.

A gleaming, erald Leaf Blade slashed toward ga Gengar, moving at such blinding speed that even from a hundred ters away, Julian felt a sharp sting on his face just from the sheer force of the strike.
If not for tagross and Dragonite standing beside him, Julian wouldn't be commanding the battle at such a close distance.
Even a stray shockwave could seriously injure him.
ga Gengar’s body slipped into another dinsion, causing Sceptile’s attack to miss completely. Instead, its Leaf Blade crashed into the ground—

A hundred-ter-long fissure appeared on the ground.
The forceful wind blast from the attack sliced through a massive tree ahead, cutting it cleanly in half.
Sceptile’s combat instincts were top-tier. The mont its attack missed, it imdiately leaped away, using its imnse agility to move rapidly between the trees.
With explosive power in its legs, its movents beca a blur, making it incredibly difficult to track.
ga Gengar reappeared, frowning slightly. It had planned to lick Sceptile, but the lizard refused to stay still.

Spotting ga Gengar, Sceptile whipped its tail, releasing a storm of razor-sharp leaves spinning in a violent whirlwind—

ga Gengar raised both hands, condensing a basketball-sized Shadow Ball between its palms.

The two attacks collided violently.
A shockwave like a hurricane tore through the battlefield, uprooting trees, sending debris flying, and shaking the ground like an earthquake.
tagross used its psychic power to shield Julian from the destruction.
Both sides were evenly matched in that exchange.
But when the dust settled—
The entire battlefield had changed, within a thousand-ter radius, there was no grass, no trees—only barren, cracked earth.
A battle at the Elite level was devastating to the environnt, the energy left behind would make it impossible for anything to grow here for years.
However, since this Secret Realm was dominated by Grass- and Water-type Pokémon, once the battle ended, a swarm of Grass Pokémon would soon restore the area.
Sceptile didn't care about the destruction of its ho, right now, it had only ga Gengar in its eyes.
If it won, it would beco stronger.
"Kehehe…"
ga Gengar grinned wickedly.
It swung its arm, summoning a large number of Sludge Bombs.
Even though the battlefield was now stripped bare of trees, Sceptile’s speed on the ground remained astonishing.
The poisonous projectiles rained down, but not a single one landed. Sceptile dodged effortlessly, weaving between them with blazing speed.

Sceptile’s attack struck cleanly, sending ga Gengar sliding back several dozen ters. Although he was hit, he still had a grin on his face.

Sceptile: "Let's see if you're still laughing in a second!"
"Focus."
Julian’s voice reached ga Gengar’s ears.
He knew his Pokémon well—Gengar wasn’t fighting seriously, if it were, Sceptile’s speed alone wouldn’t be enough to land a clean hit.
"Kehaha~"
ga Gengar nodded, but the smile on his face remained unchanged.
It spread its arms again—another round of Sludge Bombs.
Sceptile: "Tch, this won’t—"
Boom!!
Sceptile, who got hit by the Sludge Bomb, was stunned.

Another hit.

And another.

Sludge Bomb had a chance to poison the target, yet despite over ten direct hits, Sceptile remained unaffected.
tagross rolled its eyes. 'Don't you know your luck well enough by now?'
Under the Sludge Bombs, although Sceptile was injured, it wasn’t out of the fight yet. It was just dirty and looked a little disheveled.
