Alex watched Marnie run off towards the prisons while he focused his attention on the battle. There were a few dozen guards, each with three to six Expert ranked and above Pokémon, and the aura of a Champion radiating from the main building. Easy pickings for Alex and his teams.

Once Mantine lowered to the height of the walls, Alex’s attack team imdiately scattered. Raticate’s team took the left, Kommo-o’s team took the right, Grim’s team took the towers, and Lucario’s team teleported everywhere, bringing down trainers one after another along with their Pokémon. The defense and water team anwhile rode on Mantine towards the open courtyard that seed to double as a luxurious garden. There, they began providing support for the attack team in terms of single target attacks, buffs, and status conditions, allowing them the freedom to deal their damage without contest.

The guards didn’t take long to be wiped out before the Champion of the compound finally arrived. It was a well dressed man wearing a suit, his hair combed and his posture noble. He rushed straight for the defensive team and released his Pokémon, six Champion ranked Flying types. There was Corviknight, Braviary, Mandibuzz, Noivern, Talonfla, and Togekiss, top tier Flying types who were no doubt well trained and expensive.

Before he could even shout out a command, the attack team pounced. Raticate bit onto Corviknight’s left wing and executed an armbar while Arcanine and Ceruledge wailed on it with Flathrower and Bitter Blade. Togekiss tackled Braviary to the ground with Extre Speed right into Kommo-o’s waiting arms for a chokehold and Dusknoir’s Gravity. Lucario’s team teleported on top of Noivern, each grabbing a limb before pumling into it with relentless fury.

Grim held onto Mandibuzz’s neck with Jaw Lock, keeping it in place, while Knight used Spirit Break and Hydreigon used Thunder Fang on its wings. Talonfla was bombarded with Water Pulse from Clawitzer, all three Maushold, the Lucario pair, and the water team, drowning it midflight before it could even use a single move. As for Togekiss, it was harassed by the Crobat couple and shot at with Sludge Bomb by Weezing, leaving it distracted enough that it couldn’t protect its trainer as Alex approached.

“Do you know who you’re ssing with?” the man exclaid.

“No, but I bet you’re going to tell .”

“I am the heir to the Everhart family, Richard Everhart, and you’ve just made an enemy of my entire family. Just wait until my father hears about this. I’ll have your head by the end of the day. Mark my words!” he spat out, sounding like a proper third-rate, spoiled brat.

“Not before I have yours” Alex threatened with a wild smile as he punched him in the face.

Richard crumpled to the floor like a puppet with its strings cut, offering zero resistance. He might have been Champion ranked, but he likely only trained enough for an aesthetically pleasing body without ever actually pushing himself past his limits.

“That’s it?” Alex asked, disappointed. “People really need to start working out.”

Suddenly, a dangerous Dark type aura radiated from the prison, drawing Alex’s attention. He didn’t doubt Marnie had found who she was looking for, and given the overwhelming hostile intent overflowing from the aura, he could guess what she had found wasn’t pretty.

He raced over with Gardevoir and Clawitzer by his side, anticipating a grueso scene, and found himself trapped outside an amorphous ball of Dark type energy. Marnie was pissed and didn’t seem to be in control of herself.

Quickly, Alex released his own energy to cover his body and pushed through Marnie’s energy. He waded through the darkness, feeling around blindly before finding the cold tal of the prison cell bars. He searched for the cell door, correctly guessing Marnie would be near it, before finally reaching her.

He wrapped his arms around her from behind and gently whispered in her ear.

“Eliza will be fine, Marnie. Control your energy or she will suffer even more.”

Like a tide, Marnie’s energy retreated back into her form, the outer edges dissipating around the prison and leaving the place darker, colder, and more sinister.

Once she cald down, she placed her hands on Alex’s arms, her eyes searching for Eliza, but Alex quickly covered them as he continued to calm her.

“Let

take a look first,” he whispered softly in her ear. “I didn’t find any Psychic type Pokémon in the compound, so this shouldn’t be tricky to fix. Just trust .”

Marnie nodded against his hand and rested her head back on him, surrendering herself to his control. She cleared her mind and simply took in the comfort of Alex’s energy wrapping around her, bringing her peace, reassurance, and a sense of completeness she had never known before. It was honestly addicting and quite arousing.

Alex, anwhile, gave Gardevoir permission to proceed through telepathy, allowing her to approach Eliza’s unconscious body. She seed to have suffered from being overwheld by Marnie’s Dark type energy, which has a tendency to flood others with fear.

Gardevoir moved forward and quickly cast Heal Pulse, repairing any surface level physical injury, before Clawitzer stepped in and washed her with Water Pulse. After removing the water with her Psychic energy, Gardevoir imdiately dove into the girl’s mories.

She had been ambushed a week ago by Team Dominion’s patrolling forces, her Pokémon kidnapped and controlled with Dominion Restraints before she was handed over to the compound for processing. Then, for the next week, she was tortured, drugged, and assaulted as they tried to break her mind before she was finally rescued.

It was an easy fix as far as Gardevoir was concerned. Years of conditioning, like in Lina and Mira’s cases, were difficult because their minds would have developed coping chanisms over ti that were tricky to remove, but a week of trauma was simple by comparison. All she had to do was remove the mories from the mont she was captured onward, and there would be no lasting psychological damage.

Once Gardevoir finished, Eliza slowly began to regain consciousness and suddenly cried out in panic.

“No! Dubwool! Drednaw! Liepard!” she shouted before noticing Marnie in front of her. “Marnie?”

“Eliza?” Marnie asked as Alex removed his hands and retracted his energy, allowing her to finally see her friend clearly.

Marnie rushed forward and pulled Eliza into a tight hug, tears streaming down her face.

“Eliza! Thank Arceus you’re alright.”

“Marnie! What happened? What are you doing here?”

Alex left the pair to catch up and instead focused on assessing the compound as his Pokémon began cleaning up. The place was basically a secret hideout that doubled as a training facility for the Crimson Veil’s prostitutes, who were trained in old fashioned ntal manipulation.

Their top girls were those who were willing, while those who catered to the lower masses were drugged and kept out of their minds like Eliza. It seed this base was connected to more than just the Crimson Veil, as Rotom had found connections to multiple other brothels throughout the region.

A few minutes later, Marnie joined Alex as he surveyed the compound.

“Eliza is concerned about her Pokémon but doesn’t have any mories of the week-long abuse,” Marnie said. “I called the League. They should send people to finish the cleanup soon.”

“You do know the Everhart family will free him, right?” Alex said.

“I know. He has to die,” Marnie said, her tone cold and thirsting for blood.

“I’ll take care of his Pokémon.”

“Thank you,” Marnie said as she headed back to the prison where Richard was temporarily kept.

Once she arrived at the cell, Morpeko on her shoulder morphed into its Hangry Mode before rabidly biting the unconscious man. Screams echoed through the prison as Marnie watched him slowly die, eaten alive by Morpeko.

When she was done, all the hate and anger left her body, tiring her out even more than before. Who knew saving an acquaintance could be even more exhausting than a Galar League competition? Honestly, she was done for the day, unwilling to work any longer and ready to leave everything to the League to finish. She had found Eliza, and that was more than enough for an entire day’s effort.

She returned to Alex, who was sitting leisurely in the luxurious garden, having finished killing Richard’s Champion ranked Pokémon. She sat beside him on the bench, placed her hand on his lap, leaned her shoulder against him, and rested her head on his shoulder.

“Can you stay with

tonight?” Marnie whispered, her usual embarrassnt gone, fully focused on just forgetting everything that had happened today.

“Of course,” Alex replied, taking her hand and giving it a light squeeze as he radiated his Dark type energy, wrapping them both in comfortable darkness.

A few hours later, the League arrived, swept the place, and took custody of everything. They had so sorting to do between the Team Dominion base, which held plenty of mind-controlled Pokémon, and the female trainers in the compound, who were the likely owners. This included Eliza, who was eager to find her and the Nursery’s Pokémon.

anwhile, back at Iron Orchid Mansion, the mistress was on the phone with the Everhart family, making sure they knew exactly who was responsible for their heir’s death. Her voice dripped with vengeance as she spoke Alex’s na, carrying the weight of the greatest insult she had ever suffered and promising that he would pay.
