It may co as a surprise, but after its rank-up, Charizard was much more powerful than Arcanine. So, it was already decided that Charizard would face off against the leader, while Arcanine would just assist and battle other Darmanitans.
Charizard first attacked with 'Dragon Claw'. The leader Darmanitan woke up just before the attack, so it could not dodge. It couldn't even tell what the hell was happening and was hit by the attack.
ROARRRRR! It gave a painful roar and was thrown down the mountain. Charizard had already used 'Dragon Dance' four tis before.
"Use 'Sunny Day' and 'Substitute'."
Pseudo-King rank Pokemons had heightened senses. In a normal environnt, Darmanitan would have sensed them from a mile away. However, this was not the case now. The heat on the top of the mountain was so intense that any sense of sll would vaporize here. It didn't have any way to sense Charizard.
Darmanitan controlled its fall and got ready to fight. anwhile, Arcanine was fighting against three other Darmanitans. While these three Darmanitans were not as powerful as the leader, handling three pseudo-king rank Pokemons was not an easy task.
The leader Darmanitan started to get angry and pounded its chest with its hands. It fired up with 'Flathrower', but Charizard easily dodged it.

That was a powerful Pokemon. Both of its ability and hidden ability were at 100%. Axel thanked the gods that they were not 'mastered'. Axel had seen 'mastered' in Butterfree's stats when he fought it.
The stats of Darmanitan were nothing to scoff at. It was very close to being a king rank Pokemon. Axel was surprised that it had not ranked up yet. Axel realized why it was the leader of the group.
If Charizard didn't have that red orb then there was no chance that it could have won. But there was hope now. It had 2 new moves called 'Icy Force' and 'Molten Punch'.
Axel didn't know what 'Icy Force' was, but it must be sothing of an ice-type nature. Axel could not understand how it could learn an ice-type move being a fire-type Pokemon. Charizard was not weak to ice type, so he was okay with it, but he had to be careful.
Regarding 'Molten Punch', Axel could already guess what it was.
"Charizard, use 'Fla Wings' and 'Wing Attack'," shouted Axel.
First of all, one of its wings started to glow white in color. It looked like a coating of white glow, but there were so differences. Instead of a normal coat of energy, the shape of the coat was like a saw blade. It was sharp.
The blades of the coat were tiny but nurous. It looked like it could shred anything.
Then the white glow changed to reddish color. This was 'Fla Wings'. It had also leveled up greatly to level 50. Leveling up to 50 enabled Charizard to not only increase the intensity of the fla and power but also manipulate the shape of the move.
With a burst of power and speed, it flew towards Darmanitan to strike. Darmanitan was not a scaredy owth. It beca ready to strike too.
CLASH!
Any normal pseudo-king-ranked Pokemon may have been sliced to death or even heavily injured by the attack, but not Darmanitan. It held onto the attack and used 'Hamr Arm' towards Charizard. Charizard was blasted to the ground by the attack.
Darmanitan was also hurt. There were major wounds on both of its hands and on its chest, but it didn't care. It was ready to attack with another 'Hamr Arm' when,
"'Dragon Energy', FAST!!!" shouted Axel.
Dragon-type energy enveloped its body and was transmitted to Darmanitan. Charizard had to use it fast, so the move was not at its full power. However, the move did give it ample ti to dodge the attack and create so distance.
Even then, it would not have been able to dodge the attack if the 'Substitute' didn't take the hit.
The 'Substitute' vanished after taking a powerful 'Hamr Arm,' and Darmanitan was blasted off by a powerful 'Flathrower'.
Darmanitan was having a good sleep. After killing the leader Charizard and the majority of its tribe, it was in a good mood. The Darmanitan tribe and Charizard tribe had been fighting for hundreds of years on this island.
So, it was happy that it had done a significant amount of damage to the tribe. It was also anticipating winning the competition after 4 years and being blessed by Heatran. It had only heard stories about it from its ancestors.
But its sleep was disturbed, and it was injured too by that DAMN CHARIZARD TRIBE AGAIN. It didn't know from where such a powerful Charizard ca, but it was going to crumble it to death.
It was going to show this asly lizard what it was made of.
This low life wanted to disturb its sleep and takeover the mountain? It can just dream on.
Rage started to fill up inside its heart and head. This Charizard was a powerful Pokemon, so the battle would take a long ti. However, it didn't want to wait for so long. It was going to end it in a couple of minutes.
It was ti to take out the big guns and show this Charizard that it had made a mistake, a grave mistake.
ROARRRRRRRR.....
It roared from the top of its lungs and started to beat its chest with its injured hands. The chest started to cave from the impact, and the skin tore from the chest area.
It started to feel the power from adrenaline and the power from the move it had used. It was now ready for the final round.
It had used 'Belly Drum'.
