The fourth Elite of the Hoenn Region.

Drake, the Dragon-type Elite Four mber.

He was the oldest among the Elite Four and also the most powerful. Even with an Ice-type Elite among their ranks, he was still considered the strongest Elite Four mber, which clearly demonstrated his incredible strength.

Yet such a formidable Elite chose not to have his final Elite Four battle with Chris.

"Go ahead, Wallace is waiting for you," Mr. Drake said, stepping aside to reveal the door behind him.

"You... won't you battle ?" Chris asked with confusion.

At least Glacia had fought him once with her ace Pokemon.

"There's no need. Your strength has already earned my recognition, and another battle would be nothing more than a waste of ti."

"Besides, I'm eager to witness the champion battle myself."

From Drake's words, it seed he already regarded Chris as a champion-level trainer.

Well, if old man Drake felt that way, then Chris had no choice but to accept his respect graciously.

Chris walked into the fifth chamber.

This was the end of Victory Road, the seat of the champion's throne, the pinnacle of all trainers.

Pushing open the door, Chris found himself in a massive space, far larger than the previous four chambers.

In the center of the room stood a football field-sized arena, clearly designed for Dynamax battles.

Beyond the battlefield, an enormous space stretched out like a stadium, with the battle field in the middle and the champion's throne positioned directly opposite.

An elegant man with a slender figure sat upon the throne, wearing a pristine white suit, a white beret, and a flowing white champion's cape. He appeared to be dozing peacefully.

This refined gentleman was none other than the champion of the Hoenn Region, Wallace.

Wallace was renowned as the champion of both beauty and strength.

He wasn't rely a champion but also a world-famous Pokemon Contest coordinator! There was even a coordination competition nad in his honor—the Wallace Cup—held annually to trendous popularity.

Hearing movent from the entrance, Wallace opened his eyes.

Seeing the young Chris and the four Elite Four mbers who had followed behind him, he chuckled softly to himself.

"Suddenly I feel like the final boss being challenged by heroes."

As he spoke, Wallace rose from his throne and spread his arms wide. "Welco, young challenger. I haven't seen a new face here in quite so ti. I hope you can bring so pleasant surprises!"

The Elite Four behind Chris heard Wallace's words and exchanged glances with one another.

"Did any of you inform Wallace about Chris's Elite Four matches?" Drake inquired.

The three shook their heads silently.

"He shouldn't have been notified," Glacia confird.

"But... judging from his's expression, he doesn't seem to know about Chris's true strength," Phoebe said, touching her large red flower earrings thoughtfully.

"Wallace didn't wake up from all that commotion earlier?" Drake looked puzzled.

Sidney suggested, "Maybe the champion was sleeping too deeply?"

Chris hoped to keep Wallace unaware of his capabilities. If Wallace underestimated him, the process of defeating the champion might prove easier than facing the other Elite Four mbers.

Both sides took their positions. The Elite Four moved to the spectator stands while the referee stepped onto the field.

"This is the Hoenn Region Pokemon Victory Road Championship Challenge! Champion Wallace will face Trainer Chris! The battle rules are a full team battle. When all Pokemon on one side lose their ability to battle, the match concludes!"

"Please release your Pokemon, both trainers!"

Chris and Wallace simultaneously picked up their Poke Balls, nodded respectfully to each other, and hurled them into the air.

The first Pokemon from both sides materialized.

Wallace's opening Pokemon was a Level 90 Politoed.

Politoed appeared as a large green frog with distinctive blue curly hair atop its head. As its na suggested, it served as the king of the Poliwag evolutionary family.

It truly possessed the ability to command all frog Pokemon, thanks to its "Drizzle" ability that automatically summoned rain weather.

The mont Politoed appeared on the battlefield, thick storm clouds gathered overhead.

The sky darkened ominously as large raindrops began falling intermittently. A massive rainstorm was approaching!

Standing confidently in the downpour, Politoed looked like an invincible monarch preparing to rule the world!

The Pokemon Chris sent out seed quite ordinary by comparison.

It couldn't undergo ga Evolution, didn't possess an exclusive Dynamax form, and had no signature Z-Move.

It was simply an average legendary Pokemon.

Zeraora!

"Zer!" The large white-furred cat stood in the rainstorm, facing Politoed with electricity crackling at its fingertips. It didn't mind rainy weather at all.

However, it suspected that Politoed, being a Water-type Pokemon, might develop a distaste for rainy days after this battle.

"What?" Wallace stared in astonishnt.

The legendary Pokemon Zeraora?

The Elite Four watching from the stands also looked bewildered.

Sidney stared blankly at Zeraora, then turned to ask Phoebe, "So... the Blaziken I just battled might not even be Chris's main team?"

Phoebe didn't respond to Sidney this ti; she was muttering to herself, "That Gengar... was it even his main force?"

The referee confird both sides were ready and imdiately announced, "The battle begins!"

"Politoed, return!"

"Zeraora, use Pursuit!"

Wallace and Chris issued their commands simultaneously.

In rainy conditions with himself using a Water-type and his opponent fielding an Electric-type, Wallace genuinely couldn't find a reason not to switch Pokemon.

If he chose not to switch his Pokemon, Chris would only need to call "Thunder," and there would be no need to replace Pokemon—just prepare to send out the next one after Politoed fainted.

Chris, however, didn't choose to have Zeraora use Thunder. He predicted Wallace would switch Pokemon, so he opted for Pursuit instead.

Although Zeraora wasn't a Dark-type Pokemon, it could still learn Pursuit. With its high physical attack stat and Pursuit's doubled power against switching Pokemon, the strategy was devastating.

So unfortunately for Wallace, whether he chose to recall Politoed to its Poke Ball or not, the frog Pokemon was dood!

As for how Chris could predict Wallace's opening Pokemon choice...

There was no helping it—as a champion, Wallace shared the sa fundantal weakness as the Elite Four mbers.

Their Pokemon types were far too predictable and specialized.

Sidney used Dark-types, Phoebe Ghost-types, Glacia Ice-types, Drake Dragon-types, and Wallace Water-types.

Therefore, gaining an opening advantage was remarkably simple!

Chris started with Zeraora specifically to devastate his opponent's first Pokemon!

Wouldn't it be easier to defeat a champion using the legendary Pokemon Zeraora with "Zapdos's Treasure" than destroying an Elite Four mber with ordinary Pokemon?
