wtwo carried Ryuuske through the sky beneath the clouds, its telekinesis shielding him from wind resistance as if he were seated inside an aircraft cabin. Even at high speeds, Ryuuske could speak effortlessly.
Inside his mind, wtwo projected a real-ti map of w's erratic flight path. Studying the chaotic, patternless trajectory, Ryuuske frowned.
"...It's like it's playing a ga."
"Last ti in Viridian Forest, I thought w's thought process was childlike. Now it's clear—it really is just a child. It's completely ignoring our hostility and battle intent, treating this as so kind of ga."
[I can sense fragnts of w's thoughts. As you said, Ryuuske, despite being created after it, my ntality is far more mature than w's.]
wtwo's voice resonated in Ryuuske's mind, devoid of arrogance—rely stating a fact.
"Even among other Legendary Pokémon, wtwo, you stand out as mature. It's not about age, but how closely your thinking aligns with humans. w wants to play gas with us, but we don't have ti for that. We can't waste energy on a pointless chase. My body can't endure prolonged combat. wtwo, attack it directly!"
The mont Ryuuske gave the order, wtwo's high-speed flight ca to an instant halt. The transition from extre motion to absolute stillness was seamless, not even causing Ryuuske the slightest discomfort.
Standing a thousand ters above the ground, Ryuuske gazed down at the desolate landscape below. wtwo raised a hand, its body radiating a visible purple glow—a manifestation of condensed psychic energy so dense it beca tangible. With a low shout from wtwo, Ryuuske watched as the distant clouds suddenly dispersed, as if struck by an invisible force.
A faint pink figure plumted from the scattered clouds. Even with his enhanced perception, Ryuuske barely caught a glimpse of the fleeting silhouette before it vanished.
This ti, wtwo held nothing back. Born for battle, it gathered another visible wave of energy between its hands—a blade of pure psychic power, sharp as a spatial rift. The attack descended silently from the sky, cleaving a massive fissure into the earth a thousand ters below.
Psycho Cut—an invisible, undodgeable blade. If Sabrina's Alakazam could use it to slice boulders and cliffs, wtwo's Psycho Cut could sunder the earth itself.
[w has been hit. I sense its anger.]
"Good. Dive down, wtwo! We don't have ti. End this battle with the fastest, strongest attacks possible!"
A streak of purple light tore across the sky. In Ryuuske's vision, a sprawling wasteland of abandoned ruins ca into view. wtwo descended like a teor, its psychic energy distorting the air as it crashed into a derelict warehouse.
A deafening explosion erupted. The rusted tal ceiling shattered into fragnts, and with a groan of collapsing steel, the entire warehouse imploded. At the center of the destruction, a crater several ters deep spanned the entire structure.
From the wreckage, wtwo and Ryuuske levitated upward, untouched by the collapsing debris. Before them, a small, pink-and-white creature hovered, its childlike eyes now filled with confusion and fury.
"Decades ago, at the peak of industrial pollution, Cerulean City's outskirts housed a massive factory complex. Workers and their families settled here, forming a satellite city. But after the global war, humanity abandoned these polluting factories, leaving this place to rot. Seems like this is it."
Ryuuske scanned the surroundings—derelict skyscrapers, rusted machinery, overgrown weeds, and patches of blackened soil. The wind carried a stale, acrid stench. The desolation mirrored another world's Chernobyl, a ghost town haunted by mories of its forr prosperity.
"w is a Psychic-type. wtwo, use Shadow Ball!"
Ryuuske took a deep breath, his voice icy. He didn't know how long his body could last, but before his cells fully deteriorated, he had to finish this battle between Legendaries.
"Hah!"
At his command, a swirling sphere of darkness ford between wtwo's hands. The mont it appeared, even the shadows beneath them seed to tremble.
"w?!"
Finally sensing danger, w's innocent eyes sharpened. wtwo hurled the Shadow Ball, its trajectory cutting through the air like a blade of void. w barely dodged, transforming into a pink blur. The attack struck a rusted steel fra behind it—engulfing the structure in an expanding black sphere before vanishing without a trace, as if swallowed by another dinsion.
"It's still trying to run. wtwo, use Psychic!"
Annoyed by w's reluctance to fight, Ryuuske decided to escalate. wtwo raised its arms, and the air within a kiloter radius warped violently. Purple flas of psychic energy erupted from its body.
Abandoned six-story apartnt buildings trembled—then, as if shoved by an invisible giant, collapsed in a thunderous chain reaction. Tons of steel and concrete buried w beneath the rubble.
BOOM— BOOM— BOOM—
The simultaneous collapse of multiple buildings shook the earth. A storm of dust and shockwaves billowed outward—yet before they could reach Ryuuske and wtwo, the debris parted unnaturally, as if repelled by an unseen barrier.
Then—
A surge of energy erupted from beneath the rubble. Chunks of concrete and twisted rebar shot upward, each piece wrapped in psychic energy. Hundreds of tons of debris launched like cannonfire, hurtling toward Ryuuske and wtwo at bullet speed.
"Whoosh— Whoosh—"
The sheer mass and velocity turned the debris into artillery fire. At the sa ti, unnatural winds spiraled around wtwo, forming a colossal tornado that stretched from the ground to the sky.
——
Green's Jigglypuff floated sluggishly as she followed w's trail toward the abandoned city. Even from kiloters away, she could feel the unnatural distortion in the air—as if the entire area had beco a realm of psychic dominance.
"Why is my heart pounding so hard? It feels... dangerous. I'm just going to watch. It should be fine, right?"
She pressed a hand to her chest, her throat dry. Watching Pokémon battles was no different from spectating Trainer matches—there shouldn't be any real risk... right?
