Chapter 769: Fairy Elite Four
Not long after Prison Island was destroyed, aboard a warship, Lorelei looked with lingering fear at the drastically changed sea in the distance.
Fortunately, the scale of Prison Island wasn’t large, so the current scene should recover after so ti. However, from what she saw, Lorelei was reminded of a legend.
According to legend, in ancient tis, there was a vast archipelago in the Orange Archipelago region that, affected by external forces, suffered destruction. During its annihilation, a great disaster struck the surrounding area, forcing countless Water Type Pokémon to abandon their hos. In the end, if it hadn’t been for the Sea God Lugia intervening to quell the catastrophe, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
One must understand that, on Earth, the destruction of an island would barely cause a stir. But in the Pokémon world, every blade of grass, every rock, seems to be imbued with mysterious energy, making nature in the Pokémon world incredibly enigmatic and unpredictable.
After taking a deep breath, Lorelei suddenly sensed soone approaching her side. She turned around to see that it was Agatha.
"Senior Agatha, that previous attack—what was it?"
Recalling the fairy light emitted by the ice moon above Prison Island and the Destruction Light that shattered Giovanni’s attack, Lorelei wore a look of confusion.
Was there such a hidden expert in their traveling party?
That final Destruction Light that smashed the giant mass of rock, Lorelei could tell that it contained terrifying energy. Moreover, Lorelei did not doubt at all that this was a complete, core combo move system. Even for her, while it wouldn’t be difficult to defend against such a move, causing the sa level of destruction with her own water or ice army would be extrely hard.
It could be said that the Fairy Light under the combination of ice moon and Fairy Aura was made purely for destruction.
Once Terrance’s fairy army grows, they might even be able to produce the sa island-destroying power as Giovanni.
The two ultimate moves, with ga Altaria and Ninetales as their cores, were nad by Terrance as Fairy Light and Destruction Light.
The two are essentially based on the sa principle, only differing in form: the forr is an attack launched by firing multiple rays, while the latter is a focused attack that gathers all the power into one strike.
Depending on the form of attack, Terrance predicted that Fairy Light and Destruction Light could manifest in different ways. At present, Terrance was still developing them.
It could be said that this was the first public appearance of Terrance’s fairy army, and this debut deeply shocked both Lorelei and Agatha with his talent.
"I didn’t know he’d made such trendous progress in such a short ti, either."
"Looks like the Fairy Type is about to welco its first Master."
Agatha was inwardly amazed.
"Who is he?" Lorelei asked.
"Terrance, the Fallarbor Gym’s Gym Leader from the Hoenn region. You’re not unfamiliar with him. You’ve seen his video where he froze the Acapulco sea," Agatha replied.
"So it was him..." Lorelei was stunned. She had indeed seen the video of Terrance’s Castform freezing the Acapulco sea. In Lorelei’s view, Castform’s control over ice was quite impressive, already approaching the strength of her own main Pokémon. For that reason, she had always been rather curious about Terrance. After all, few people could train a Castform to such a degree.
"I rember he wasn’t specialized in any particular type, and even if he were, as a Bug Type Gym Leader, how did he beco a Fairy Type master?"
Lorelei asked in confusion. Once you reach the Elite Four level, specializing in training Pokémon of a single type is actually very understandable. Moves of the sa type can be fused more easily, and the overall training concept is similar, allowing a Trainer’s foundation to grow rapidly. For example, Lorelei’s ice and water army can, by working together as a team, instantly freeze and lock down an entire island.
But if you have six Pokémon of different types, even if they’re equally strong, they absolutely cannot create such a shocking effect.
After all, combining moves of different types perfectly is extrely difficult.
Of course, there are exceptions, such as fire borrowing the power of wind, or ice borrowing the power of water. Lorelei herself is a representative of Trainers who combine ice and water, but there are very few types with such close compatibility.
"A Fairy Master from a Bug Type Gym?" Agatha cackled when she heard Lorelei’s doubt.
At that mont, a black dot flew over. As the wind pressure surged in, both Elite Four looked up.
"He’s here," Agatha said.
It was Terrance, riding on Altaria. After jumping down from Altaria, he took out a Poké Ball and recalled Altaria, then walked over to Agatha and Lorelei.
"Master Agatha, Master Lorelei," Terrance greeted.
Tapping her cane, Agatha smiled and said, "Honestly, I thought you’d need at least three years to reach this level. Your performance this ti really surprised ."
"Master Agatha, you flatter ," Terrance replied awkwardly. Of course, if he’d followed a normal path, it would have taken him at least two or three years to build a capable Pokémon team. But, as luck would have it, he’d obtained Fairy Aura and the Fairy Mark, these miraculous powers.
They were abilities similar to psychic power or Aura power. With them, even if Terrance were a bit slow, becoming a Top Trainer was just a matter of ti.
"Gym Leader Terrance, we should exchange ideas soti. I’m very interested in the ice moon you created," Lorelei said to Terrance.
As an Ice-type master, Lorelei could imdiately tell how the special ice moon was constructed. Just by observing, she was sure she could easily create an ice moon herself.
However, the ice moon that could gather and absorb the moves of many Pokémon. It was sothing she couldn’t understand.
If the ice moon had been constructed by just one Pokémon, fusing only its own moves, that was still within Lorelei’s grasp. But that final Destruction Light clearly wasn’t the power of just a single Pokémon. Lorelei judged that the ice moon must have accumulated energy from Fairy Type moves released by multiple Pokémon.
The mystery within this process made Lorelei very curious.
However, Lorelei would never have imagined that while the ice moon relied on itself to absorb Ninetales’s moves, absorbing, condensing, and strengthening the fairy power of other Pokémon relied on the special ability Fairy Aura. So, if she only studied the ice moon, she would never achieve the sa effect as Terrance.
"If there’s a chance, I’d also like to exchange ideas with Master Lorelei," Terrance replied.
At that mont, Agatha spoke up again, directly voicing Terrance’s concern: "As I thought, you intervened. It seems there’s soone on Prison Island you care about?"
"We just received a report, there were 54 people registered on Prison Island, but one person is missing. Looks like you spirited that one away." Agatha looked at Terrance in amusent and said with a sly smile, "Aren’t you afraid of Team Rocket’s retaliation afterward?"
"Even if you didn’t show your face, figuring out that you’re the master behind the ice moon would be a piece of cake for Team Rocket. After all, there are too many loopholes."
Terrance’s heart skipped a beat, but his expression remained unchanged as he said: "I’ll handle whatever cos my way."
Agatha smiled lightly and said, "Interesting, I knew I wasn’t wrong about you. Don’t worry, Giovanni is broad-minded and likely won’t go after your family or friends. But you personally may have caught his attention."
"You must know Giovanni’s strength by now, right? And this ti, he acted in haste and probably wasn’t even fighting at full power. Aren’t you afraid?"
Looking at the calm Terrance, Agatha again showed a sly smile. "Say, are you interested in becoming one of the Elite Four?"
"The first-ever Fairy Elite Four!"
