Chapter 768: Energy Core Exhausted
“What is that?” Lorelei swept her gaze over and stared at the giant ice moon floating in midair, its surface reflecting countless rays of light. She looked utterly shocked; she was certain this was definitely not the work of her Pokémon.
anwhile, Giovanni, still locked in a standoff with Agatha, looked toward the helicopters in the sky that were wobbling and falling into chaos. His expression grew even darker.
“Didn’t think the League would resort to underhanded tactics too. Who is it? Is it Lance?”
Seeing Giovanni’s expression, Agatha let out a hearty laugh. “Looks like sothing you didn’t account for just happened, Giovanni.”
At this mont, Agatha was also deeply shocked. The Fairy Light had reflected from the giant ice moon and locked onto the helicopter, giving her a huge fright.
But what made Agatha laugh was the ssage coming through her earpiece: all hostages had been successfully rescued.
Inside the naval warship’s reconnaissance system, the commanders stared, dumbfounded, at the image of the rapidly expanding ice moon. The system clearly showed that the attack was being created by a special Altaria, a Ninetales, and a Castform.
The Arctic Ninetales stood atop the ga Altaria; the two similarly colored Pokémon seed almost fused into one. As they flew among the clouds, the abilities they displayed shocked everyone on site.
Those beams of light descending like divine punishnt carried overwhelming power, yet their control was astonishingly precise. They caused no wide-scale damage to the helicopters, reaching an ingenious balance. This was all thanks to the Fairy Aura’s calculations.
At this mont, Giovanni’s emotions were extrely complicated as he glared furiously at the sky.
The next second, several of Giovanni’s Pokémon combined their strength, gathering the power of earth to form a colossal mass of rock resembling Continental Crush. Like a teor falling in reverse, it hurtled toward the giant ice moon high in the sky!!
Seeing this, Agatha frowned and was about to order her Pokémon to block it, but when she caught sight of the ice moon suddenly flashing with blinding light from the corner of her eye, she inexplicably stopped the command.
“An anger-fueled attack beyond even an Elite Four?”
Terrance murmured. A massive rock tens of ters in diater. If it fell from high altitude, the destruction would be unimaginable. It could easily obliterate most of a small town like Fallarbor Town.
Even now, though rising instead of falling, under the control of Giovanni’s Pokémon army, it displayed terrifying might.
At this mont, Terrance felt a surge of competitive spirit. He imdiately gave commands through the Fairy Mark, ordering all of them to gather their power and counterattack!

As the colossal mass of rock hurtled closer, Ninetales’ eyes flashed blue. The next second, the giant ice moon reflected a super beam of light!!
The super beam filled with fairy power was surrounded by swirling frost. The imnse energy had been gathered to its limit, even causing countless arcs of lightning to flicker around it. This Destruction Light combined the strength of four Pokémon, along with the fusion of the ice moon, enhanced reflection, and the supportive amplification of Fairy Aura. Its power and speed was terrifying, and at this mont, it was as if the entire sky had been illuminated.
As the colossal giant mass of rock surged upward, the Destruction Light descended. The two terrifyingly powerful attacks instantly collided, erupting in an earth-shattering explosion!

The mont the two moves collided, everyone on the island felt their pupils contract as they instinctively covered their ears. For a mont, their bodies froze.
At the sa ti, countless fragnts of shattered rocks scattered in all directions under the force of the two colossal powers. The scene was one of utter chaos, resembling a picture of apocalyptic destruction!
“Who is it!!!”
Giovanni’s deep gaze fixed on the sky. After just one round of exchanges, he already understood that the unknown opponent was not Lance, but another master-level powerhouse specializing in a certain type.
“The island is collapsing!!”
At that mont, the island, its energy massively drained, could no longer withstand the pressure. With a thunderous crack, the ground split apart, its foundations collapsing. No matter how Lorelei tried, she could not stop the island from rapidly crumbling.
As the rumbling erupted from beneath the island, most people on Prison Island showed expressions of fear.
Seeing all this, Giovanni clenched his fists, unable to believe that he had let his anger cloud his judgnt and hastened the island’s destruction…
“Damn it—” Giovanni’s gaze turned icy as he looked at Agatha. He said coldly, “Congratulations. You won this round. But next ti will be different.”
“That would depend on Team Rocket’s capabilities,” Agatha cackled.
Terrance had given Agatha too many surprises, so many that she found it hard to believe this was the sa inexperienced Trainer she once knew only from battle broadcasts.
“All Team Rocket mbers, listen up, evacuate the island imdiately. Abort the mission.”
As the island continued to collapse, Giovanni quickly regained his composure and began directing Team Rocket’s retreat.
At that mont, neither Giovanni nor Agatha, neither Team Rocket nor the League, made any move to continue the battle. By now, everyone understood that unless a chance to reclaim the hostages appeared, the ga was over. Escalating the conflict any further would only lead to mutual annihilation, an outco neither leader, in their right mind, would allow.
Supported by Giovanni’s ground army and Lorelei’s ice/water army slowing the exhaustion of the island’s energy core, both sides retreated swiftly.
“Boss Giovanni!!” A high-ranking executive looked at him in confusion, unable to understand why they were abandoning the elite specialists they had fought so hard to capture.
“Board the helicopter,” Giovanni said calmly. He glanced back at the devastated Prison Island. “There’s no helping it. Since it’s co to this, minimizing Team Rocket casualties is the priority.”
“We just have to start over.”
After speaking, Giovanni cast another deep look toward the League’s side, hoping to spot that mysterious Trainer again, but found nothing.
Shortly after Team Rocket and the League evacuated the island, the energy core of Prison Island, continuously battered by the power of ice/water and earth, finally exploded. The island was swallowed by the raging seawater pouring in from all sides. The remnant power of ice/water and earth only accelerated the island’s destruction. When the last vestiges of its energy core were exhausted, the ecosystem collapsed so rapidly that a massive deep-sea whirlpool ford in its place.
The mont the whirlpool appeared, it churned the surrounding sea into chaos, and soon a storm ford as well. rging with the whirlpool, it turned the entire region into a deadly forbidden zone.
The disaster caused by the collapse of Prison Island’s energy core lasted a full week before finally subsiding.
