"Peaceful, is it not..."
A voice like that echoes through the village. In a certain mountainous area, there was a village that was reasonably large at the ti.
Agriculture was flourishing at the ti, and there seed to be many landowners... well, there were also many wealthy people living there. Crossing the eras of Taisho, Showa, and Heisei, it's now the Reiwa era. People disappeared from the village, and there were no longer any visitors to the Inari Shrine in the village.
Then, who is the girl sipping tea within the shrine grounds?
She wore an old-fashioned shrine maiden outfit, had fox ears, and white hair. It was clear from her appearance that she was not human.
She had been at this shrine since ancient tis, and she still remained... that's right, she was the fox deity.
If you delve into the origins of Inari Ookami, you'll hear stories about it not being a fox or sothing about it being a divine ssenger.
But as if ignoring all the explanations given by such people... She, the fox deity, was here.
She doesn't rember when exactly she was 'there' but it's been quite a while... well, to be precise, she doesn't rember. It's just that she started manifesting herself recently.
The sll of the wind sohow changed. Sothing in the world shifted. And then there she stood, on the ground.
But well, just because she had a body, it didn't an anything would change... she still lived without any particular problems.
Was it because the world was filled with "power"? There was no need to eat or do anything.
If she felt bored, she could just brew tea with the grass around and the water from the still-flowing well.
"What, I wonder, hath beco of the world of n? The tee-vee stirreth not, and the radio's batteries died an age ago…"
That's the only thing she is sowhat curious about, but even if she worries, there's nothing she can do. It's been a long ti since the priest who protected the shrine disappeared. Since then, there's only been her here.
That's why she doesn't know. It's been about 20 years since there was a big change in the world.
The human world has changed drastically, and the carefree world she knew no longer exists anywhere.
She doesn't know because the only road leading to this village collapsed, and no one has co for a long ti.
"…Hm? Sothing seeketh to breach the barrier..."
So inexplicable force covers the sky enough to make it visible. With a cracking sound, it shatters the semi-circular transparent barrier that protects the village.
While watching the fragnts of the barrier scatter and disappear, she lets out a small sigh.
This place was still protected by the power from ancient tis. However, that protection was destroyed today.
The laws of another world have appeared in this land. Sothing called 'dungeon gate' swirls in the middle of the village. It connects to another world called 'dungeon' when you enter it, and if left alone, monsters inside will overflow. But she wouldn't know about that.
"My, my… What an ill-oned thing hath erged..."
Her... the fox deity's eyes were fixed on the dungeon, and she noticed that sothing seed dangerous. If left alone.
"That such a thing would break the barrier and appear… Hath the world returned to the days of ancient turmoil and divine strife?"
She sighs as she directs her hand towards the dungeon gate.
"Co forth, Kogetsu."
What appears in response to her call is a bow. As the bow, emitting a trendous divine energy, settles in her hand, she pulls the bowstring so strongly with arms so slender that one couldn't even imagine.
A shining arrow appears in her hand.
"Begone, unknown curse from whence thou cast."
She unleash it. The unleashed arrow, adorned with even more brilliance, turns into a single flash... and pierces the dungeon gate. With a light ringing sound, the dungeon gate dissipated.

"O-oh? What manner of madness is this?"
In front of her, windows appeared rapidly and in large numbers, and the fox deity was confused without understanding anything. Honestly, she couldn't understand what was being said at all.
[Na unknown... placeholder, Inari. Displaying status]
"Ugh, I comprehend it not! Not a whit of it! What art thou even saying!?"
A 'status' is displayed in front of Inari, who doesn't understand anything.

"It seeth, unbeknownst to , the world hath grown most strange indeed…"
