Julian Lawson almost couldn’t resist telling Seraphina his identity, but in the end, he held back.

Today he ca here to clear things up with Serena Sterling regarding Jasper Ford.

He didn’t want any additional complications.

Seeing Seraphina looking around with big eyes, seemingly about to run away, Julian hurriedly said, "Don’t be afraid, Uncle isn’t a bad person."

But it was obvious that Seraphina no longer wanted to stay here.

"Uncle once had a child..." Julian said, once again envisioning the scene of Serena bloodied and crying in his arms.

"But it disappeared later on. Seeing you makes think of it."

"I’m sorry if I frightened you," he said. "I wanted you to draw because you reminded of it."

Perhaps sensing his genuine emotion, Seraphina looked at him earnestly and decided not to run off.

She lightly patted the back of his hand in a comforting manner.

Julian found it amusing.

Such a small hand, patting his large hand, so lightly and softly.

Yet he truly felt comforted.

He, Julian Lawson, comforted by a little girl?

But... he quite enjoyed it.

"But I still can’t draw you." Just as he was feeling comforted, Seraphina’s voice ca through, "I’m a person with principles."

So young and already talking about principles?

Julian grew increasingly curious about this child.

"Is this sothing she taught you?" Julian couldn’t help but ask.

Seraphina placed her drawing on the table, coloring thodically.

She casually said, "My mom taught many things."

"But didn’t you just et her not long ago?" Julian continued to ask.

Seraphina didn’t think much, answering, "But Mom is nice to everyone, not just , also Uncle Jasper and Aunt Joy, everyone."

"However..." Seraphina said happily, "Mom is even nicer to those close to her. Like she’s very good to . Even though I can’t call her that in front of her, she understands and still takes to see a doctor, buys things, and lets go to school."

Thinking about it, Seraphina’s face suddenly frowned. She said, "But she’s not good to herself."

"The wounds on her body haven’t fully healed yet."

"But I’ll blow on them for her."

"Mom says when I blow on them, they won’t hurt anymore."

Serena’s injuries...

Julian again recalled the scene he saw earlier at the hospital.

She had bandages on her head.

And she had fallen down the stairs... he didn’t know how serious her injuries were.

The last ti at Moonlight Manor, he hadn’t been able to check her injuries closely.

The wind gently blew, and Julian watched Seraphina color the picture with great care.

It was evident that even though she was just a little girl, Seraphina’s focus was quite impressive.

Suddenly, he felt that this was quite nice.

There was a sense of tranquility.

Ti passed slowly, and from a distance, Julian saw Serena walking towards the kindergarten.

For so reason, he instinctively hid in the shadows.

As soon as Serena walked into the kindergarten, she saw Seraphina sitting on a stone stool drawing.

Just the sight of her involuntarily made the corners of Serena’s mouth lift.

Serena quickly walked over, glanced at what Seraphina was drawing, and didn’t disturb her.

Eventually, it was Seraphina who noticed her.

"Aunt Winters!" Seraphina called out cheerfully, jumping into Serena’s arms.

Serena caught her stably.

"I drew a picture!" Seraphina imdiately handed the picture she had just colored to Serena, looking at her with anticipation, "Does Aunt Winters think it’s pretty?"

Serena took the picture and spared no effort in praising, "It’s wonderful, Seraphina, it’s beautifully drawn!"

She even kissed Seraphina on the cheek, making Seraphina giggle.

Serena carefully rolled up the picture and put it away, then picked up Seraphina and sat her back on the stone stool, touching her small hands and forehead.

She took out a wet wipe to clean Seraphina’s face and hands, then fetched the thermos she carried around to pour Seraphina so warm water to drink.

Very ticulous.

"Thank you, Aunt Winters." Seraphina obediently finished the warm water and handed the cup lid back to Serena.

Serena took it: "No need to be so polite. Want more?"

Seraphina nodded, and Serena poured her another cup.

After Seraphina finished drinking, Serena tightened her slightly loose hair and tied her shoes, all the while asking Seraphina about her day at kindergarten.

Seraphina shared many things with her, and they both seed very happy.

Julian watched quietly from the side.

If they had a child, would she also pick up and drop off their child like this?

Or maybe they would pick up and drop off their child together.

Their family of three, would it also be this warm?

Julian suddenly wondered if he was getting old because he started longing for family life.

"...By the way, Aunt Winters, there was a strange uncle who said he wanted to buy ice cream just now."

Over there, Seraphina said to Serena.

Serena frowned slightly. Who was it?

Seraphina looked around and then pointed in a direction: "Over there."

Serena looked in the direction Seraphina was pointing, and then she saw Julian Lawson standing not far away.

Their gazes t, and Serena slowly stood up.

Julian didn’t hide any longer and walked over, looking down at her.

"I think we need to talk." Julian said.

Serena withdrew her gaze and looked at Seraphina sitting on the stone stool, watching the two of them.

"Seraphina has to go to the hospital for a check-up today." Serena said, the implication clear, she was refusing.

"I’ll go with you." Julian didn’t give her a chance to refuse, "Serena, I think you wouldn’t want coming here every day to block you."

Serena pressed her lips together slightly.

She glanced at Seraphina again, and finally, she nodded.

Indeed, she didn’t want Julian coming over all the ti.

This forced her to agree.

Seraphina kept watching them.

With eyes full of curiosity.

But Serena didn’t know how to explain to Seraphina.

She didn’t want Seraphina to call Julian dad.

Even though they were still legally married for now.

But soon they wouldn’t be anymore.

So Serena chose silence, simply holding Seraphina as she sat in the back seat of the Maybach.

The scenery swiftly receded.

The car steadily drove towards Aeston First Hospital.

The car was silent.

A suffocating silence.

Julian watched Serena in the rearview mirror.

When did they beco so estranged?

Before, she always greeted him with a smile, but now...

Julian thought again about the empty wedding chamber.

So he asked, "When did you move out of the villa? Why didn’t you tell ?"

Serena didn’t look at Julian.

"You don’t need to know." she responded calmly.

Julian felt slightly annoyed by Serena’s perfunctory attitude, but he managed to suppress it.

"Where are you living now?" Julian continued to inquire.

But Serena still didn’t look at him, only whispered to comfort Seraphina.

After a long while, she answered, "We’ll talk later, let’s go to the hospital first."

"Serena!" Julian could no longer bear it, angrily shouting.

"Wah!"

Seraphina was startled into crying, her tears falling in big drops.

"Aunt Winters, that uncle is so scary."

Serena’s patience had reached its limit.

"Stop the car!" she said coldly.
