Chapter 65: Soul Technique
The elder who entered was unlike the others Seraph had seen. He had shoulder-length blonde hair, a porcelain face, and eyes narrow that a single glance from him could pierce the heart.
"Most of you might not know , but you may call
by the na, Elder Simone."
The disciples shifted subtly, their gazes concentrated on the attractive man before them. So female disciples even blushed, their gazes clouded as they stared at him in admiration.
Seraph was focused on another detail other than the man’s physical look.
’How strong do you think he is?’
From within, Halo replied solemnly. ["I can’t give you an exact asurent, but he is likely on the sa level, or stronger than that your Elder Song."]
’Hm? That strong? I guess the elders of the Soul Peak aren’t nobodies.’
Squinting his eyes and cleaning his ears, Seraph finally focused his attention on the man’s words.
"What I’m going to be briefing you today is a technique exclusive only to our Soul Peak disciples. It’s called the Soul Reinforcent Technique."
Walking about the stage, he continued.
"It isn’t like your regular martial technique that strengthens your body and gives you so fighting skills. The Soul Reinforcent Technique is rely to help you condense your soul and make your spiritual energy purer, making your elental skills more potent."
He paused, looking straight at Seraph.
"Here, we focus on quality rather than quantity."
Seraph’s eyes narrowed briefly. That gaze, although brief, was peculiar.
It was like he was searching for sothing on him.
Elder Simone looked away, continuing the lecture.
"The Soul Reinforcent Technique manual will be distributed to everyone after this session. I’m rely here to brief you about it, and make it easier for you all to cultivate it."
A ripple of excitent spread amongst the disciples, and they listened in anticipation. Seraph also decided to pay attention, warning Halo not to distract him.
"First of all, I will let you witness sothing different from spiritual pressure."
Elder Simone smiled, then stilled. The world around him seed to blur, and a sense of heaviness suddenly pressed down on the disciples—not physical, but crushing in a way that made breathing forced.
Seraph’s eyes sharpened, feeling the grim wright on his heart.
’What is this...? Soul pressure? It’s insane.’
He didn’t sweat, nore did his body shake. None of the other disciples showed any signs of physical stress too.
However, every single one of them was under the crushing pressure exerted by Elder Simone’s soul.
A mont later, the blonde man retracted his soul pressure, causing the disciples to exhale.
"Do you all see it now? That is Soul Pressure. It is the expression of your soul strength on the outside world around you."
"First, harnessing the soul itself is hard, but requires deep concentration."
Raising a hand, he condensed a ball of pure spiritual energy without any elent.
The ball beca translucent like an x-ray, displaying what was on the inside.
"Whenever you’re focused on cultivating, you’ll be greatly aware of your dantian and ridians, right? That’s because your spiritual energy is flowing through them."
"The soul is different. It doesn’t require spiritual energy, so it can only be contacted or felt when you’re in a deep, reflective cultivation."
"Banish thoughts from your mind. Instead, focus on being as empty as you can. You will feel it, like sothing inside your skin."
He slowly stepped forward.
"If you do that, then you have reached the requirent to master the Soul Reinforcent Technique."
He looked around, catching looks of anticipation on their youthful faces.
His eyes lingered on Seraph a second longer, watching.
Then, he continued. "Of course there will be a test to confirm this. After all, we can’t tolerate cheating in the Soul Peak."
"Without feeling your own soul, you’re not get the Soul Reinforcent Technique manual. Therefore, you all must work hard."
He paused, then said in a low but clear voice.
"We rely have 7 months to the Annual Sect Convergence. The Soul Peak consist of our best disciples. Do not disappoint."
"Good day."
He turned around, then left the hall through the sa door he ca from. Instantly, the disciples began dispersing, while so stayed behind to try it out.
Just as Seraph got up to leave, he was t by Sylvia and two other disciples who looked alike.
Inwardly, Seraph frowned. ’Why is it that twins are so common these days?’
He had the urge to roll his eyes.
Putting on a fant smile, he cupped his fist at the girl.
"Sister Sylvia. Is there anything you need?"
The girl’s eyes narrowed, feeling strange when he didn’t address her as Senior Sister.
Perhaps it was because they were now in the Inner court together.
Folding her arms, Sylvia maintained a cold expression.
"These two are my friends and they said they wanted to know you."
Seraph paused, glancing at the two brothers. "Know ?"
Hearing this, the one on Sylvia’s left spoke.
"Yes. I pretty much heard how you humiliated that good-for-nothing guy in the cafeteria. Hmph, I’ve been wanting to do sothing about him..."
"Oh?"
Seraph cast an interested gaze at him, then turned to the other person.
"You too?"
Although they looked the sa, this one was calr.
"Call
Right. And it’s my brother that hated his guys, not ."
Seraph nodded, then turned back. "So you’ve got to be Left, right?"
The boy nodded, his features a reflection of his brother.
["Whoever nad them doesn’t have a naming sense. Left and Right? It sounds very weird."]
Halo comnted, and Seraph shared its thoughts.
Still, he was in no position to criticize. He hadn’t birthed them after all.
Perhaps realizing the silence was awkward, Sylvia turned around.
"I’ll be leaving. I have a mission to attend to."
The twins turned and followed her.
Seraph was about to nod when he rembered sothing.
"Wait!" He imdiately rushed and stopped Sylvia. "Is it possible to leave the Soul Peak and visit the other peaks to see other disciples?"
Right and Left looked at each other in confusion.
"Why would you want to go there? I’ve never thought about it." Right said calmly, his questioning gazes resting on Seraph.
Sylvia also looked interested in his answer.
"Well, I have an acquaintance on another Peak, and I’d like to visit."
"Oh." Sylvia nodded, then said to him.
"You should ask the elders at the Mission Hall. They’ll give you directions."
Seraph nodded, then walked away. Although he asked, he had no plans of leaving imdiately. That was sothing he could always do later.
Seraph returned to his dormitory, turned on the light bulbs by the stairs and went to his room.
The air here was quieter and more peaceful. Relaxing slightly, he changed into random clothes, then left the dormitory again.
This ti, he headed to the cafeteria to get a al set.
Surprisingly, he t the two twins Left and Right there.
"Hello, Brother Seraph."
Left greeted him, or was it Right? Seraph didn’t know. Their resemblance was too blinding. Just like Elder Mash’s bodies.
"Brother." He smiled back, choosing not to call a na.
They dished their food, then went to sit at a table together.
"Brother Seraph, you must be confused, right?"
One of them asked, a light, knowing smile on his face.
"You see, as long as we’re facing you, I, Left, will always be by your left. And my brother, Right, will always be by your right."
Seraph’s rainbow eyes lit up, surprised and amazed.
"Oh? That’s an ingenious idea. This will make it easier to recognize you. But..."
This ti, it was Right that cut him off with a knowing smile.
"Don’t worry, we’re always together. Nothing, not even a mission, can separate us. So you won’t have to be confused if you et only one person—because you won’t."
Seraph nodded slowly, taking a careful bite of his steak.
"By the way, what do you think about today’s lecture?"
Hearing this question, the twins looked at each other, then back at Seraph.
Left answered first. "Well, I can’t say. But it’s very interesting. The concept of the soul pressure really makes
excited about it. I can’t wait to learn that thing. I’ll even be trolling Advanced Stage cultivators like it’s nothing."
Beside him, Right shook his head and spoke. "You’re really sothing else, brother. Well, for , it’s nothing serious. As long as I can get strong, it’s fine."
Hearing this, Seraph paused and lowered his gaze. It was as if he were thinking sothing important.
’Halo, were you able to sense their cultivation levels?’
The system replied in its monotone voice. ["Of course. Both brothers have the sa cultivation level. Do you want to know?"]
Seraph rolled his eyes inwardly. ’Just answer
already!’
There was a hum, as if Halo had nodded.
["They’re both in the Peak Advanced Stage and one of them is carrying quite an injury."]
’Injury?’
Seraph’s brows furrowed faintly. ’What kind of injury?’
["Well, it’s a... soul injury."]
