Chapter 22: We won

Seraph blinked, suddenly finding the man right before his face. Before he could react, he was punched in the gut, making him double over as his spine threatened to break.

"Kuak!"

He was sent flying away, landing on the corpses of the Scota warriors. His hair and face got stained with their blood, but his smile remained present.

"That packed quite so strength."

He struggled to his feet, trampling upon the corpses on the ground.

"Co at !"

Discarding his gun, he channeled his spirit energy and held up his spear.

’Only by letting myself get extre pressure can my spear skills evolve.’

Nevak attacked him fiercely, throwing several water skills at him. Seraph blocked the elental attacks with a large water shield, then retaliated with several wind slashes.

Nevak effortlessly blocked them, zooming in to attach again. He rcilessly kicked at the boy’s head, his leg as fast as the wind itself.

Seraph raised his arm, blocking the attack. He regretted doing so.

It felt like soone had slamd a thin, heavy material into him, rattling his bones and making hand tremble.

"Seraphim Spear: Second Form—Piercer!"

Taking a deep breath, he took a stance and attack with his spear. Wary and cautious, Nevak moved back slowly, rely partying the powerful thrusts.

’How can a child have so much strength and skill?’

Grunting slightly, he noticed that several thin marks appeared on his arms, bleeding.

’I still got injured?’

He scowled, unsheathing his sword and attacking Seraph seriously. The boy could barely resist, like a boat in the midst of a seastorm. He was thrown around, beaten heavily until he could barely stand.

However, he kept improving his newly created spear skills, even injuring Nevak slightly.

Just as the man prepared to grab Seraph, he sensed a great energy approaching in the distance.

’Damn it! That Patriarch is coming already!’

He decided to let go of his plan to abduct the boy. Instead, he decided to kill him instead.

"Dangerous brat! Die!"

Screaming, he raised his sword and prepared to cut off Seraph’s head. However, the boy suddenly moved.

"Seraphim Spear: Third Form—Mirage Death."

His body rippled like an illusion, and he appeared very close to Nevak.

’Wha—t?’

Nevak froze, shocked. His gaze lowered to his chest, where Seraph’s spear was embedded deeply. His vision grew blurry, and he finally collapsed to the ground.

Patriarch Gon arrived seconds later, a panicked expression on his face.

"Seraph! Why did you rush to confront this man yourself?! You could have been killed!"

The man said angrily. Seraph was a treasured genius if his clan, and it would be devastating if he got killed.

Seraph stumbled forward with a pleased smile. "There’s no way I could die yet. I still have other things to do."

"Huh." Sighing in resignation, Patriarch Gon pulled Seraph close, examining his injuries.

Without the warning and help of this young boy with a mysterious backer, the clan would have been erased from the surface of the world at this mont.

’Perhaps his backer was his confidence when facing Nevak?’

He looked around, seeing his n clean up the battlefield. At the west, he could sense the Ban Clan warriors retreating.

Elder Cassius couldn’t give chase because he didn’t have enough warriors with him.

’Those explosives...’

Patriarch Gon looked at the charred bodies on the ground. These people had stepped onto the explosive lindmines Seraph had planted ahead of ti, and died miserably. So of them didn’t even have a full corpse, exploding into smithereens instead.

"Let’s return to the clan. We already won the war."

............

From that day, the Moonveil Clan’s reputation rose. They had been besieged by three different clans in the middle of the night, but successfully eradicated two of the clans and left the last one after they compensated the Moonveil for their loses.

Although rumor about so strange weapons used by the Moonveil warriors spread, no one could find any warrior holding it.

It was as if they strange weapons disappeared, making others think it was probably a fluke.

The curiosity of the larger clans imdiately lted, and they finally freed the Moonveil Clan from scrutiny.

In the Clan Manor, Patriarch Gon was having a eting with the elders, discussing a few matters.

"Patriarch, we have made enough light bulbs to power most of the houses in our territory. However, the other clans are starting to notice and get curious."

The Elder managing the light bulb production spoke, his tone calm but filled with subtle tension.

Patriarch Gon shifted slightly. "Ignore them for now. When we have the lights fully covering the clan, we can consider setting up prices for each light bulb later."

The Elder being addressed nodded, returning to his seat.

"Patriarch, we got an invitation to the wedding of the heir to the Umob Clan."

Eyes widened like saucers in shock. The Umob Clan wasn’t a small clan like theirs. It was a great clan that could easily trample on the smaller clans.

’Receiving such an invitation from them expresses their desire for us to et. I need to go.’

Nodding, he said. "I understand. Remind

once it is two days from the event."

The other elders also brought up several minor concerns, to which he calmly gave solutions.

"Patriarch. About your daughter, Ariana. Isn’t it ti she joined a sect? I’m sure that would improve our prestige as a clan. Also, that Seraph boy too. He should have joined a sect by now."

Hearing that, Patriarch Gon furrowed his brows. "Sigh... Ariana keeps insisting she wants to go to the sa school as Seraph. It seems she has grown very attached to him."

The other Elders all carried suggestive smiles on their faces as they heard the Patriarch’s lantations.

"Then perhaps you should send them to a sect together. Containing them within the clan will limit their growth."

Patriarch Gon nodded. "You’re right. I will do that after the eting. Any other notable thing?"

One silent Elder slowly raised her hand. "Patriarch. What is your stance on Seraph’s mysticism?"

Instantly, the room fell silent, a sense of heaviness hanging in the air.
