Ex and Robertina laid the snacks they got on the table and seriously contemplated what they should try first while Kisuke served them so hot tea.
"Thank you very much." Robertina gracefully showed her appreciation, "You didn't have to do this, though."
Kisuke also sat down with them and said sothing that caught even the normally calm Robertina off guard, "It's fine. It looks like you won't let off as long as I keep that underground space closed anyway."
Ex and Robertina were stunned, and the latter asked after a few seconds of silence, "...Was it that obvious?"
"Ex-san here kept searching around, and it's pretty obvious what he's looking for." Kisuke took a sip from his tea, "I didn't notice you guys' gazes for no reason, after all."
Robertina imdiately gave Ex a glare, and he could only smile awkwardly while trying to defend himself, "You told we need to look into it!"
'Don't say that!' Robertina shouted internally. But soon enough, she could only sigh in resignation. As Ex inherited their father's personality the most, making him very honest, he's the source of many of Robertina's frustrations. Even then, however, she respects him very much, only second to their father, as he's also very kind and brave, 'Though he's also headstrong and tends to beco reckless when soone important to him is hurt.'
The cat was out of the bag, so there's no point in denying things, and she didn't want her older brother to look bad, "I'll be upfront with you, Urahara-san. We can't really leave alone that expanded space until we can confirm that it won't pose a threat to us or the town. This is our duty, and we have no intention of shrinking from it." Robertina honestly explained this ti.
"In other words, you'll look away if there's nothing important in there?"
Robertina was glad that Kisuke seed to be more understanding than she thought and replied, "That's right. Only Ex nii-san and I would know about it, and we'll keep it away from official records as long as there's nothing dangerous in it, and we can check it from ti to ti."
Kisuke smiled softly, 'She's still a kid no matter what, huh?' Kisuke thought that she's like Sona, who carefully considers everything, but it turned out she's a bit more similar to Rias and Ravel at the sa age, 'Naivete aside, it's still a good proposal to maintain amiability, albeit a bit reckless. Don't they even consider that I could poison them now or trap them underground?'
Kisuke, nevertheless, could still understand Robertina's confidence. He couldn't accurately asure it, but he could feel Ex's abilities not too far from Airi or maybe even above her. Most of the tricks that so random person would pull off will be thwarted with just his strength alone, 'As expected of the so-called young ace of the United Armies.'
"Well, enjoy your snacks first. I'll bring you down later to take a look."
. . .
Ex and Robertina thoroughly enjoyed themselves with the snacks they bought. They still had a bunch of them in their bags but decided to save it for later, "That was great! We should bring the others here soti later." Ex was really thankful for the warm tea to wash his palate.
Robertina elegantly wiped her mouth and said, "Although there are so strange ones in the midst, it's indeed a good experience. Shirayuki nee-san and Kurobara nee-san are about to return from their trip. We can bring them here next ti."
She then turned to Kisuke before continuing, "It's really a sha that we can only buy a little bit of the selection. Do you really have no intention of allowing us to purchase more?"
"You guys are important custors, but you're not the only ones. I can't have empty shelves when they co, right?"
Hearing Kisuke's answer almost made Benihi laugh out loud, [What custors? The mont this spot gets a bit popular, you'll put a barrier to turn them away.] Since Kisuke's dagashiya is unique enough in this day and age, along with his criminally low prices, it's almost certain that this shop will beco popular. But she also knows Kisuke hates being too busy selling things, so she can predict what he'll do next to free himself.
[I intend to sell so special products, so I can't have this shop populated every ti special custors co in.]
"Shall we go down now?"
Ex and Robertina stared at Kisuke for a few monts, and that's when they finally rembered that they were supposed to check the underground space he has.
Ex and Robertina stood up and both said, "We're ready."
Kisuke also stood up and went towards the wall, putting his hand on a certain spot, "Benihi, we're going down for a bit."
Kisuke didn't receive a reply, but he knew she heard him, and it was just a show for Ex and Robertina.
The siblings thought that they'd be going through a passage to reach the underground space, but to their shock, the floor suddenly disappeared under their feet.
Kisuke, Ex, and Robertina, along with their belongings, dropped without any warning, but the latter two noticed that the furniture in the room remained still.
As the siblings are capable of flight, they didn't panic and just let themselves be dragged by gravity.
They went through a dark tunnel that's about 50 feet long before they exited to an absolutely vast space that even had its own cloud formations, "...What?" Robertina muttered loudly.
Kisuke continued dropping towards the ground, but the siblings spread their Dragon wings and stopped their descent, "Ex nii-san... Why didn't you tell it was this wide?"
"Please don't bla . I also didn't know."
The two of them flew down under the clouds to properly take a look, and once the whole view was revealed to them, the younger sister asked, "This isn't sothing like a Rating Ga Field, is it?"
Ex also looked down to see the land that's a mix between lush green and desolated brown, with a few lakes and mountains of various sizes spread out, "It doesn't seem like it. As far as I can tell, this is a permanent type, and it's properly reinforced too."
From the ceiling they ca down from to the ground below, the two of them estimated that there's at least 10 kiloters (6.2 miles) distance between them. As for the length and width of the space, it's hard to gauge, but their conservative estimate would be at least a hundred kiloters (62.1 miles) each, which already makes it on par with the larger Japanese prefectures.
"...We can't handle this on our own." Robertina instantly decided that she would be reporting this.
But before she could even move, Ex suddenly grabbed her shoulder and said, "...Say, aren't we in need of a wide private space for training?"
"Ex nii-san!?"
"Hear out first. Didn't he say that he's using this as a training ground?"
"That still doesn't justify this!"
"Let's confirm that there's nothing dangerous in here before we make any decision."
Kisuke, who's secretly listening to their conversation, couldn't help but chuckle and be proud of his achievent, "They probably haven't seen a pseudo world as permanent as this one, have they?"
[Stop the crap. What are you going to do if they really decide to report this? That defeats the purpose of you hiding for a while.] Benihi replied to his monologue, [And who told you to go this far?]
"What do you an? I need this much if I want to test my [Tiamat Form]."
[You can do it in the Dinsional Gap.]
"Then I wouldn't have a reason to dig an absolutely ginormous underground space!"
[...] Benihi forgot that he has a thing for hidden underground spaces.
