The teenage boy and girl were both shocked that they were noticed. The girl with majestic drills was the one who first stepped forward and explained themselves, "Our apologies. We didn't intend to watch you in secret, but we noticed the weird aura that's coming off you."
Kisuke was not surprised because he had been releasing a tiny bit of Spiritual Power as aura that made him stand out against normal people but only a bit unique compared to the inhabitants of the supernatural world, "It's a bit tiring to suppress it all the ti. I just recently ca to this town, and I thought it's safe enough to let loose. Am I bothering you in any way?"
"No. Not at all," the boy with red hair imdiately denied, "Actually, we're also interested in the 'dagashiya.' We accidentally overheard it earlier, and we're curious what it looks like because we rembered dad talking about shops like those that are nowhere to be found anymore."
"Oh, is that so?" Kisuke thought about it for a mont before deciding his next set of actions, "Then do you want to co with ? We're open right now, and it'll be great to have so custors."
The boy and the girl's eyes shined, "We'd appreciate it if you could. By the way, I'm Gremory Ex, and this is my little sister, Hyoudou Robertina." The forr introduced themselves while extending his hand.
The girl nad Robertina slightly lowered her head with her hands in front of her, "Pleased to et you."
"Gremory-san and Hyoudou-san?" Kisuke lightly took his hand but tilted his head to the side.
Ex had this awkward expression on his face and said, "It's weird, right? But it's true that we're siblings. Please just call us by our given nas." The siblings, however, wondered if he really didn't know about their father. They used to be instantly recognized the mont they gave their nas, so soone like Kisuke is a bit rare.
"Complicated family matters? Well, it's not my place to say anything, but what's important is that you two are getting along well. Nice to et you too, Ex-san, Robertina-san. I'm Urahara Kisuke. Shall we go?"
Ex and Robertina happily nodded and began following Kisuke while offering their hands to help him carry so of his stuff.
'These two inherited their father's kindness, huh?' Kisuke thought to himself and rejected their offer, 'But I wonder who inherited his pervertedness? It'll be a sha if no one did.'
On the way to the shop, Ex and Robertina talked more about themselves, revealing that they are 3rd and 2nd-year high school students, respectively.
Ex is also the current President of the Occult Research Club, while Robertina is the Secretary of the Student Council.
Since Kisuke also told them that he's new to the town, they introduced various spots and places that might prove useful to him. Because of this, their walk didn't feel too long, and they soon reached a traditional building in the middle of quite a large empty land.
"Urahara Shouten?" Robertina muttered when she saw the signboard on top of the building, "And this is a pretty remote location. Did you want your shop to be here?"
"I like quiet places, you see? And although it looks far, children could still safely visit the place, and we close early to dissuade them from coming after sunset."
Ex, on the other hand, was staring at his feet, and after a few seconds of silence, he suddenly asked, "Why do you have a huge empty space under your shop?"
'He was able to detect that?' This ti, Kisuke was truly shocked and said without a change in his tone, "I asked a friend to set it up for , and I use it to train. I don't know the legalities surrounding it, though."
Ex imdiately realized his mistake and panicked, "I'm sorry! I didn't an to point that out!" Of course, it's illegal. Any space expansion of a certain volu should be reported and checked by authorities, not just for the safety of those around them but also to prevent them from hiding massive amounts of dangerous materials or items.
There are many people who can use personal dinsional storage, but most of them could only store a day's groceries in it. As for those who can hold as much as a small house and more, they are the extre minority, so an expanded space is a very big deal, and Ex just loudly pointed out this criminal activity.
"Calm down, Ex-nii-san." Robertina didn't know what Ex saw, but she was already aware of his extraordinary senses. She sighed and patted his shoulders to calm him down, "Please don't worry, Urahara-san. We're taught how to deal with grey-area matters, so as long as we don't see anything that warrants an imdiate and serious response, we won't say anything."
"...Just what sort of upbringing did you have?" Kisuke feigned ignorance.
Robertina just smiled at him gracefully and answered vaguely, "An upbringing that's necessitated by our position and responsibilities."
Kisuke looked into her eyes for a few monts before walking towards the entrance of the shop, "Co on in and choose what you want. I'm proud of our shop's collection. No bulk buying of the sa items, though."
Seeing that Kisuke ignored the previous topic, Ex turned to Robertina and whispered, "Thanks. I don't really know how to deal with those."
[He can hear you, nii-san,] Robertina sent a telepathic ssage without her expression changing, [And although I said that, we'll need to check what's in that space one way or another. We can't risk having a big unknown space within Kuoh Town, especially if the one in control of it is essentially an outsider.]
Robertina happily followed Kisuke while leaving her brother stunned. Nevertheless, it didn't take too long for him to join his sister, who had already started having fun choosing her sweets and so exotic candies.
"Once you're done paying up, co inside. I'll offer you so tea to match those snacks." Kisuke proceeded to enter the living space of the shop, leaving Benihi, who's on the cashier section, to deal with them.
[Are they perhaps that perverted brat's kids?] Benihi ntally asked Kisuke while carefully watching Ex and Robertina's movents.
[Yep. The red-haired guy's na is Ex.]
[...His firstborn?]
[In this world, apparently not.]
