Chapter 56: Magic Carpet, Ran Into Bandits Along The Way
“70,000 gold coins?”
ng Lei gave a cold snort. “100,000 gold coins! Not a gold coin less!”
“10... 00,000?”
The handso boy went limp and almost collapsed onto the ground. His lips trembled as his face turned green. “Big... Big brother, I really can’t cough up 100,000 gold coins!”
Bang!
ng Lei’s leg flew out, instantly sending the handso boy up in the air. He then reached out and grabbed him!
“Listen! You are in no position to bargain!” said ng Lei with a cold expression. “You can either pay with gold coins... or your life!”
“Gold coins! I’ll pay!”
Upon sensing the killing intent in ng Lei’s eyes, the handso boy was so scared that he almost wet his pants. His thoughts spun quickly like a pellet drum. “Yes! I am willing to give 100,000 gold coins as compensation!”
“Very good!”
ng Lei nodded as he turned toward the other two!
“We are also willing to give 100,000 gold coins as compensation!”
The two had long been frightened by ng Lei. Their thoughts moved quickly, for fear that ng Lei would savagely thrash them if they were slow in answering!
“Transfer now!”
ng Lei threw over a magic crystal card!
The trembling trio had anguished expressions as they stuttered, “Big... Big brother, we are montarily unable to co up with so many gold coins!”
Although they were the offspring of aristocrats, they were still teenage students. How could they co up with so many gold coins?
“This is your problem. None of my business!” ng Lei waved his hand and said impatiently, “I will stay in your dormitory tonight. I want to see 300,000 gold coins tomorrow morning. Not a single coin less!”
“Yes... Yes!” They exclaid in unison with pained expressions.

“Brother!”
The mbers of the disciplinary team couldn’t stand it anymore. A burly man with a giant axe on his back whispered, “You shouldn’t be doing this. Extortion is prohibited in the academy...”
“Extortion?” ng Lei laughed. Then, his eyes fell on the burly man like a sharp blade. “You can be careless with what you eat, but you have to be careful with what you say. When did you see extorting money?”
“...”
The corners of the burly man’s mouth twitched. He was completely stunned, as though thousands of alpacas had galloped through his heart.
You just extorted money from the three of them! We were standing right before you the whole ti! And now you deny it!?
“Listen! This is not extortion, but... co-mpe-nsa-tion!”
ng Lei pointed at Joseph and said plainly, “For the past six months, they have been bullying my friend! They’ve been beating him, scolding him, and forcing him to kneel down, wash their clothes, and serve them water. Just like a servant!
“Their despicable actions have caused irreparable trauma to my friend. Is this little compensation too much to ask for!?”
“This...”
The burly man was rendered speechless. He was a sixth-year student and a commoner of the human race. How could he not know about the academy’s ugly side and internal strife?
Nobles bullying the commoners and Dragon People bullying the humans were very common happenstances!
Many commoners silently endured the mistreatnt because of their weak abilities and poor background. Thus, such a ‘compensation’ had been unheard of in the academy so far!
Nevertheless, since now soone had demanded it, it made perfect sense!
The reasoning was simple: Since you bully , I’ll ask for compensation! It all depends on whose fists are bigger! The academy? As long as no one dies, the academy will not care at all!
This had contributed to the aristocratic and powerful students’ arrogance. They bullied the weak without any hesitation and pulled no punches!
If one didn’t want to be bullied or would like to bully others, then they had to train hard and be stronger than the rest!
This... was the Great Axe Warrior Academy’s philosophy, which was sowhat similar to the practice of raising the most venomous insect[1] back on Earth. This was far more barbaric, reckless, and cruel than how Fire Dragon Magic Academy operated!
“If there is nothing else, you can leave!” ng Lei waved his hand and issued an expulsion order!
The disciplinary team’s mbers looked at each other. Although they felt aggrieved, they were unable to do anything. ng Lei was stronger than them, and remaining there would invite ridicule. Thus, it was better to leave!
The burly man of the human race took a long look at ng Lei before whispering a warning, “Brother, take it easy! Don’t kill anyone!” He then turned and left with the disciplinary team, taking away the unconscious Skyles with them!
The dormitory was only left with ng Lei and the rest within an instant.
“Joseph, close the door!”
“Ah... okay!”
After Joseph closed the door, ng Lei pulled over a chair and sat on it. He then said plainly. “You only have one night. What you have to do... I believe I don’t have to repeat myself, right?”
“Understood!”
“We know what we have to do!”
The handso boy and the other two nodded hurriedly and began to think of ways to raise money. 100,000 gold coins was not a small sum—it was enough to cause them a huge loss!
“Very good!”

A magic flying carpet crossed through the blue sky at high speed.
The scenery underneath—a green wheat field, a lush forest, and andering rivers—passed swiftly, like a series of images, forming a beautiful animation!
The southern lands were covered with fertile and lush greenery for thousands of miles!
“You didn’t get to witness that particular scene. Brother ng Lei incapacitated Larry swiftly with a grab, a punch, and a knee. It was so cool that I was stunned!”
“Wow!”
“And...”
Ear-pleasing cheers spilled across the sky, intertwining into a sweet-sounding lody!
This group of people had left the city and embarked on their journey back to the village. They were ng Lei, Joseph, Andrew, and Jonah, who were all on winter vacation.
“Brother ng Lei, you’re so aweso!”
“That’s right! Even Senior Skyles was not his match!”
“Brother ng Lei, aren’t you a Magician? Why is your physical body so strong? Unless you are a dual cultivator of magic and martial arts?”
“Brother ng Lei, did you buy this magic carpet?”

The three little fellows were usually irritable during traveling. But today, they were extrely excited, talking about their six months’ worth of stories and experiences along the way. How could there be any opportunity to get irritated?
The magic carpet flew at breakneck speed, very different from a worn-out bullock cart. After half a day, the Magical Beast Ridge was already in sight!
“Look! That’s the Magical Beast Ridge!”
“Yeah! Almost there! We are reaching ho soon!”
“Wow! This magic carpet is indeed fast!”
When looking at the lush greenery and the Magical Beast Ridge, which laid on the ground like a giant dragon, Jonah and the other two were excited. Their faces were flushed red as they sat on the magic carpet!
“Finally, we are reaching the Magical Beast Ridge!”
ng Lei was also overjoyed. The Magical Beast Village was the first place he had co to know in this world. It had a special aning for him. Thus, he felt at ease returning to this familiar place!
Whoosh!
Suddenly, a shrill air-piercing sound echoed. An arrow, which was more than three ters long and shrouded in lightning, pierced the sky, charging at lightning speed at the magic carpet!
“Look out!”
ng Lei’s ears twitched before his spiritual power erupted and detected the arrow. He imdiately forced the magic carpet to a stop as it hung in mid-air!
Splurt!
The lightning arrow went through the magic flying carpet’s front portion and grazed the back of Andrew, who was sitting in the front. It then shot itself high into the sky and exploded into a ball of fireworks!
“My god!”
Andrew instantly broke into a cold sweat. Fortunately, the carpet had stopped in ti. Otherwise, the arrow would have pierced his entire body like mutton skewers!
“Sh*t!”
ng Lei looked at the ground, and a cold glint appeared in his eyes!
[1] Legend has it that ancient Chinese would place all sorts of insects into a pot and allow them to kill each other. The one that is remaining would be the most venomous insect.
