Chapter 908: Let There Be Erald Light

Whilst Ioleznta was busy exploring the guts of a colossal dragon, Iliz and Liliazin were facing off against another of the disaster beasts, though, this one greatly differed from the rest of them on a simple point, it was an entire hive of malevolent insects, they varied in size and appearance, but the largest of the bunch were no bigger than the average humanoid child, so compared to the other beasts, eradicated it might seem like an easier job, but that was wrong, terribly so.

The disaster beast was far from simple, the nurous insects making up the great swarm were not real undeads, they were the manifestations of the real beast’s ability- The Erald Herald and Divine Dancing Priestess had no idea where the actual creature controlling everything was, it could be hiding amidst the swarm… It could be hiding underground, or inside of the nearby wood… Or it could have even remained safely hidden inside of the dark keep, it was nearly impossible to tell.

Moreover, the insects just kept on coming, it seed like the number of them could not grow past a certain point, but no matter how many were blasted to pieces in a single go, they would all nearly instantly return, the swarm was a whole was no less voluminous than the other disaster beasts, and considering the variety amongst the insects, it could attack in countless manners, mirroring its master in that regard.

“This is useless, undeads can’t get tired, it’ll just keep summoning them back until we are exhausted- We need to find the heart or core of this swarm!” Iliz shouted.

“What?” but the buzzing of the insects was just too loud for anyone’s voice to be heard, so instead, Liliazin established a connection with the priestess so that they could speak through the erald light.

“What were you saying?”

“That we should focus on tracking down the actual beast, it seems that as long as there is one of those left, that all of the others can be summoned back imdiately, so even with bomb the area several tis over, all it will take in a single insect that did not die instantly for this to continue… Moreover, I think it can send its minions much further away than it is letting on, there might be so hiding out of sight” Iliz was not very optimistic about their chances of obliterating the whole swarm head-on, if all of the other heralds and priestesses were here, and that there wasn’t a whole bunch of their people fighting all over the place, then they would totally be able to decimating the entire area to do the job, but that was far from being the case.

“I agree, but we have idea where to look… Can you sense the real beast amidst this ss?”

“Not at all, and I don’t know if it’s because it isn’t there to begin with, or if it is just evading detection…”

“There is no need to think so deeply, juniors, I’ll take care of this one” both Iliz’s and Liliazin’s gas flickered as a third person just appeared right beside them, the insects that were approaching suddenly marking a stop collectively.

“Ancestor Solzmimi!”

“Please don’t call ancestor, pretty boy, reminds that I am probably partly dust by now…” the greatest sun worshipper to ever live, chuckled as he grabbed both of their shoulders casually and set them aside, floating upward to et the dense mass of insects swirling above and forming a sort of sphere with their bodies.

With her arms crossed, she looked at the swarm with a slight smirk.

‘Such unique creatures… Hirzartanli must be having a great day surrounded by so many exotic beasts’ thinking to herself, her senses spreading through every bit of erald light over a wide radius, she could view in details, the many different kinds of beasts and monsters that were part of the undead ranks, so seed to simply be undead versions of unknown creatures, whilst others seed to have completely been changed by death.

Regardless, considering that she had heard that many of the creatures were referred to as ‘beasts of Loimos’, it seed like pure undead had a certain talent in the creation of unique things, Solzmimi however, was more skilled at destroying than creating, so good, that she could precisely choose what to destroy with her erald light.

Bringing her hands together, uncaring as the nurous insects that tried to reach were incinerated, turning into nothing more than small lines of black smoke, she casually gathered and condensed erald light in between her two palms, if any of the mage from outside the realm where to see this, they would likely recognise that Solzmimi was doing the equivalent of casting a transcend-level spell using erald light.

The disaster beast right in front of her also realised this, as suddenly, all of the hundreds of thousands of insects making up the swarm suddenly transford into a single kind bug, resembling a sort of mix in between a moth and a firefly, only that the light-producing organ was instead replaced by one that produced darkness, all of them acted in perfect unison, each the size of a person’s fist, they poured out darkness, trying to suppress the oncoming spell.

It looked as though a hole had been dug into the sky, giving sight into a void of eternal darkness…

The disaster beast controlling the swarm was often nicknad as End, for although capable of manifesting all types of undead insects as long as they did not get over a certain size, it was certainly the most flexible of the disaster beasts, but it’s na was due to its greatest proficiency, which was in the summoning of locusts that channeled the four aspects of the apocalypse, hence the nickna.

However, calling upon such locusts was far more difficult than all other insects, as such, it usually refrained from using them, the amount of locusts that could be called upon at a ti was far inferior to that of other insects, and the locusts being so unique-looking, the disaster beasts true body would be easy to take notice of.

As indeed, it needed to be amidst the swarm to control it, and amongst the disaster beasts, its durability was ridiculously low, to the point that if a regular living warrior below caught End, it could easily be destroyed without much effort.

So even when faced with one of the realm’s ancestors, it did not call out to the locusts, and instead insects that had been created by King Nitok inside of absolute darkness.

It soon found out that this was a mistake.
