"Sun Yang, you finally made it, I thought you wouldn’t want to see !"

In a small tavern not far from ho, Ning Changfeng smiled as he watched Sun Yang walk in.

That obsequious smile made him very uncomfortable.

"What are you talking about? I’ve just been busy at the construction site."

Sun Yang could only offer a smile that didn’t match his true feelings.

After all, he and his father had moved back ho where his mother also lived.

As a son, he had no choice but to show so respect.

Even though it was to soone who had once betrayed him.

But everyone knew that a tiger doesn’t eat its cubs, and now that the two were staying at ho, who knew what the future held.

And owing the Ning family a favor, he naturally had to save face.

Everyone knew that even though his mother had married Mr. Ning, it wasn’t a formal wedding, which basically made him an outsider. To prevent his mother from suffering, he had to attend the banquet despite his reluctance.

"Mr. Sun is a man who gets things done, unlike , so useless and unable to clean up his own ss. I invited you tonight because I sincerely want to apologize for my past actions."

Ning Changfeng quickly ushered Sun Yang to sit down and grabbed a bottle of erguotou, filling their glasses.

He then took the initiative to raise his glass and said, "Mr. Sun, I know I went too far before. Because of a conflict I had with my cousin, I dragged you into it. I regret it deeply, so today I just want to apologize. I hope you can forgive and let bygones be bygones."

"Forget about it, I had forgotten that long ago."

Sun Yang, forced to lift his glass, could only offer a forced smile, still seething inside.

"That’s good, as long as you’ve forgiven , let’s finish this drink."

Ning Changfeng said, downing his glass in one go.

Sun Yang frowned, but seeing the other man’s empty glass, he clenched his teeth and downed his drink as well.

The strong liquor, over fifty percent alcohol, quickly flushed Sun Yang’s cheeks.

"Refreshing, refreshing."

Ning Changfeng quickly filled Sun Yang’s glass again.

Then he grabbed his glass, smiling, and said, "This second drink is to honor Ms. Li. Although she and my grandfather were not formally married, we are still a family. Technically, I should call you uncle, but just between us, from now on you are my big brother. Don’t worry, I won’t let Ms. Li suffer the slightest grievance in the Ning Family."

After these words, Sun Yang, who had not intended to continue drinking, ended up lifting his glass again.

After all, his mother had moved into the Ning Family, and as a son, he couldn’t help much, but he definitely couldn’t complicate matters further.

So another glass went down, and with no food to slow the alcohol, Sun Yang, who had a low tolerance, felt sowhat dazed.

"Co, co, we’ve been focusing on drinking, let’s have so dishes!"

Watching Sun Yang’s state, Ning Changfeng’s lips curled into a sly smile.

Now that the alcohol was affecting him, so matters could be slowly discussed.

So he began to ramble on and on.

And Sun Yang, with his inhibitions lowered by alcohol, gradually let down his guard.

"Ah, being forgiven by grandfather and returning to the Ning Family feels like a dream. No matter what, this is where I grew up. The only regret is my previous ignorance. I offended my cousin’s husband, and he still refuses to see even now. It really upsets !"

This conversation finally brought up Lin Fan.

Ning Changfeng reluctantly put down his chopsticks, his face filled with sadness.

"Ah, it’s not that he refuses to forgive you... it’s just... such a pity, such a good man."

Sun Yang, already drunk, couldn’t help but sigh deeply whenever Lin Fan was ntioned.

Last ti, it was Lin Fan who helped him out of trouble.

That’s why, after his mother ntioned Lin Fan, he couldn’t help but take up the case.

"Yes, how could such a good person end up in such a situation?"

Ning Changfeng didn’t ask further, fearing he would raise suspicion, and could only continue along with what he was saying.

But with his cunning mind, he had already sensed that sothing had happened to Lin Fan.

"Ah, it’s just like jealousy towards talented people... Soone so capable has turned into a vegetable, unable to even eat or drink. Living like this... if you ask , it would be better to just die!"

Indeed, Sun Yang didn’t notice anything amiss and blurted out the words directly.

On hearing this, Ning Changfeng’s eyes widened in shock.

Who knew the boy had beco a vegetative state, which was incredibly good news for him.

"Exactly, exactly..."

Overjoyed inside, Ning Changfeng lost all interest in drinking with Sun Yang.

he quickly got up and left the private room after just a few words.

Having obtained this information, he had to inform his father at once and then rush to report to the Gong Family.

But as he got up to leave, he paused, a smile crossing his lips.

Deciding quickly, he soon returned to the Ning Mansion.

After glancing at the East Cross Court, he headed towards the West Cross Court.

"You’re back, did you find out anything?"

Ning Bingcai, who had been pretending to be sick in bed all this ti, eagerly asked his son.

"I’ve asked around. Lin Fan seems to be in seclusion or sothing; Ms. Li isn’t very clear on it, and I’ve discussed it with the head of the Gong Family as well. He’s asked us to observe for a few more days; you’ll have to keep pretending. I’ll take another opportunity to check."

Ning Changfeng’s words made Ning Bingcai groan incessantly.

"Just lying here is really boring. Can’t you hurry it up? I don’t want to just lie here all day."

"Relax, relax, I promise to speed it up to get you out. But the head of the Gong Family has asked to co over; he might have so demands, so you just stay here honestly, and I’ll be right back."

After pacifying Ning Bingcai, Ning Changfeng walked out of the Ning Mansion with a mischievous smile.

As he stepped down the stairs, he couldn’t help but look back at the ancient, quaint gate.

"Dad, go ahead with Grandfather. Once you’re both gone, both the Ning Mansion and the Ning Group will be mine. I’ll surely pick a good location to bury you properly."

If sothing happened to the Ning Family, Ning Changfeng would be the sole heir to the family’s lineage and wealth.

Thinking of this, he couldn’t help but laugh wildly and quickly hailed a taxi, speeding toward the Gong Family’s location.

But shortly after he had left, a car pulled up at the entrance to the Ning Mansion.

Zhao Jiaqi stepped out of the car, dressed in a long gown.

Her eyebrows furrowed, she ca to the door and rang the bell; soon, Ning ngyao ran out to open the door in a hurry.

"Jiaqi, you’re finally back!"

Seeing Zhao Jiaqi, Ning ngyao was genuinely delighted.

But unexpectedly, she slightly bowed and said, "Hello, my na is Ni Chang!"
