The smoke from the gunfire had dissipated.

The sea surface once again beca calm.

There was no sound from Evil Island.

The waves continuously beat against the rocks.

A rustling sound carried through the air.

Before long, a head erged from beneath the water’s surface.

It was Lin Fan, who had previously jumped into the sea with Ning ngyao.

His right hand was clutching the now weak Ning ngyao.

Assuring that there were no people on the beach,

he finally dragged her onto the shore.

"What exactly happened? Did we encounter pirates?"

The soaking wet Ning ngyao,

lay powerless on the sand.

She hadn’t recovered from the shock even now.

This kind of scene, usually seen only in war movies,

had genuinely happened to her.

If it weren’t for Lin Fan’s quick reflexes, she might have been buried in a fire.

"I’m afraid it’s not as simple as pirates. The missile that hit our speedboat was a Javelin anti-tank missile. Such weapons aren’t sothing those poor pirates can afford, and the cost of one is probably more than that of the yacht. It’s overkill to use such a weapon for this."

Lin Fan crouched beside Ning ngyao.

His cold eyes scanned the dense jungle behind the beach.

As the leader of the Wolf Fang team, he still had this basic military knowledge.

From the trajectory and the explosive power,

he could tell that the enemy’s weapon was considerably advanced.

"Who could it be?"

The still terrified Ning ngyao tightly clutched Lin Fan’s clothes.

Only this could make her feel sowhat safe.

"Not sure. This area of international waters could host anyone, but at least one thing is certain: these people don’t want anybody approaching this island, so there must be so unspeakable secret hidden on it."

Using the rocks as cover, Lin Fan quickly surveyed the surroundings.

This sudden appearance of a mysterious ard force

had indeed put them in danger.

Especially since he had the frail Ning ngyao with him,

there was no chance of a direct confrontation.

They must proceed with caution.

"It’s over... our equipnt and supplies are still on the boat, and now we don’t even have a phone to contact ho, nor is this a shipping route where boats would approach."

The struggling Ning ngyao, annoyed, looked at the calm sea.

All the equipnt she had painstakingly prepared had sunk to the bottom of the sea.

The two didn’t even have lunch for the day.

Let alone a camping tent and a seawater filter.

"Don’t worry. If the yacht doesn’t contact the ho country for a long ti, the rental company will definitely report it, and naturally, soone will co looking for us. Equipnt is not important; what’s important is that we are both still alive."

Lin Fan ensured safety, then once again sat down.

This sudden event

had indeed caught him off guard.

"But... but without equipnt, without food, can we last until then?"

Ning ngyao nervously looked around.

Without the protection of the equipnt, she truly felt an unprecedented fear.

"Don’t worry. I wouldn’t use those equipnt anyway. It’s okay that we lost them. This ti, you’ll see how aweso the Divine Artifact is."

Lin Fan took out a square of aluminum foil from his pocket.

With such a Divine Artifact at hand, it surely saved a lot of trouble.

However, he earned a roll of the eyes from Ning ngyao.

"You... can’t you be serious for once? How can you still be thinking about random stuff at a ti like this?"

"You’ll soon know how useful it is."

Lin Fan didn’t need to explain too much.

Soon, she would understand the magic within.

"What should we do now?"

The confused Ning ngyao could only rely on Lin Fan at this mont.

"We urgently need to replenish our fresh water supply. The beach is too hot, and there’s no need to stay. We must enter the jungle to find a place to settle. Then, I’ll try to locate those guys. Without guns or cannons, the enemies have made life difficult for us, but as long as they have food, we won’t starve," he declared.

Lin Fan reached out his hand and pulled Ning ngyao to her feet.

After making sure once again that no one was around,

he hurried her across the beach.

And they delved into the dense forest.

Half an hour after the two of them disappeared,

a pair of soldiers dressed in combat uniforms and carrying firearms appeared on the shoreline.

They quickly pinpointed the footsteps of the two.

"Notify the Soul Envoy imdiately. Two birds have entered the cage," one soldier said.

......

Inside the dense forest,

Lin Fan led the way.

Ning ngyao followed him closely, weaving through the undergrowth.

Unfamiliar with the directions, she really couldn’t do anything now.

But Lin Fan seed to know the way as he kept turning and moving forward.

After a while, Ning ngyao couldn’t contain her curiosity and asked,

"Where are we going now?"

"We’re looking for a water source, of course," Lin Fan replied without turning his head.

"But do you know where there is a water source?"

"Of course I don’t know, but if we follow this path, we will definitely find water," Lin Fan said as he crossed a fallen large tree.

"Where is the path?"

Ning ngyao, who also climbed over, couldn’t help but complain.

The two of them had co so far without any actual path.

"You can’t see this path, but I can," Lin Fan said mysteriously as he helped Ning ngyao up.

"You...you have yin-yang eyes?"

Once she landed, Ning ngyao surveyed again.

But the dense waist-high grass showed no signs of any path.

"Don’t talk nonsense. I’m not leading you on the path to the underworld. See how the grass parts to the left and right? That’s actually the path. It’s just that it isn’t made by humans, but by animals that have passed through here," Lin Fan explained as he pulled Ning ngyao down to crouch.

He gently parted the grass: "The animals here are the real masters of the land, so they definitely know where there is a water source. On the way here, I saw rabbit droppings and quite a few footprints, probably heading to drink water. So if we follow these footprints, we will definitely find a water source."

Ning ngyao was skeptical about Lin Fan’s explanation.

After all, in her eyes, all the weeds looked the sa.

But she had no other choice but to continue following Lin Fan.

About ten minutes later,

a sound of running water made her cover her mouth involuntarily.

The murmuring sound of the stream now seed so pleasant to her ears.

When Lin Fan parted so bushes, a small stream suddenly appeared before them.

The clear, transparent stream flow was small, but it was definitely enough for two people to drink from.

Ning ngyao lay down directly on the ground,

drinking eagerly from the rare coolness of the water.

Only when her belly was full did she sit back contented on the ground.

"Wow, this feels so nice!" she exclaid

as she washed her face with the cool water,

the earlier heat vanishing instantly.

But as Ning ngyao was still enjoying the rare coolness,

she noticed that Lin Fan had taken out a square of foil right beside her.

And he ripped it open directly,

revealing the transparent rubber body inside.

This made Ning ngyao pause in surprise.

"Don’t rush... At least let have a bath first, this is too unhygienic!" she protested.
