Upon hearing the boy call the girl “wife” again, the emotions that he had managed to keep at bay throughout dinner finally began to creep up on him.

He took a deep breath, preparing to return to the restaurant.

Nanxi was standing under a dimly lit streetlight, in her usual white dress.

The Nanxi whom he loved no longer loved him back.
Nanxi had married his Uncle and beca his Auntie Nanxi!

The car’s horn sounded by his side, he startled, looked back and saw Bai Yuchuan looking at him through the car window, saying just two words coldly, “Get in!”
