The weather had grown increasingly colder, but it was rare for the day to be so warm, with exceptionally bright sunshine.
Ji Anning lay on her side on the balcony reading a book, and without realizing it, she fell asleep; when she awoke, she turned and looked towards the large bed in the room, frowning.
Where had the child gone?
She had lulled Fenfen to sleep for a nap before coming over to read, but now the little girl was nowhere to be seen on the bed.
She quickly grabbed the book from her chest, placed it on the table next to her, and prepared to stand to look for Fenfen.
But she had forgotten about the injury on her waist, which caused her whole body to spasm in pain, so she quickly supported herself against the table, standing up slowly and wincing.
She cautiously entered the room, but there was no sign of Fenfen and she wasn’t in the bathroom either.
The door was half-open, undoubtedly, the little girl had gone out.
"Fenfen, what are you doing?"
No sooner had Ji Anning stepped out of her room than a cry of alarm ca from Ji Chicheng’s room, startling her; she had no idea what had happened and hurried over.
Reaching Ji Chicheng’s doorway, she heard the sound of splashing water coming from the bathroom.
Upon entering, she saw Fenfen sitting on the washbasin, her face covered in foam, the tap running, and in her plump little hand, she held Ji Chicheng’s... razor!
The aunt’s attempts to persuade her were futile; the little girl stubbornly held the razor to her face, which was covered in shaving cream, "shaving" herself.
Ji Anning’s mouth twitched, mostly speechless.
"Mommy!"
The little girl suddenly noticed Ji Anning and raised the razor in her hand, showing it off with a wave.
"Miss Anning, I just dozed off for a mont and didn’t watch over Fenfen," the aunt said apologetically to Ji Anning.
The old lady now lived there permanently, and she worked tirelessly from morning till night. Ji Anning smiled gently and shook her head, "It’s okay, go back to sleep for a while; I’ll watch over her."
Saying this, she held onto the doorfra, entered the bathroom, and walked over to Fenfen, frowning at her, "Co down now, or Dad will spank you if he finds out."
Fenfen, fearless as ever, continued to wield the razor, roaming it chaotically over her face.
Since Fenfen had arrived, Ji Chicheng had replaced all the household items with the safest possible options, including his own razor, so Fenfen playing this way wouldn’t hurt herself.
Ji Anning watched her with interest, not stopping her.
"Mommy."
Suddenly, the little girl aid the razor, covered in foam, at Ji Anning’s face, who quickly dodged, "Mommy doesn’t have a beard; wait for Daddy to co back, you can shave him."
"Daddy," Fenfen pouted cutely, fluttering her sparkling big eyes, and continued to ’shave’ herself.
Her voice was tender, making Ji Anning’s heart feel soft as she gently nodded, "Yes, Daddy."
"Daddy is handso."
Fenfen muttered quietly.
"Yes, Daddy is handso," Ji Anning leaned against the washbasin, tenderly watching Fenfen’s little face.
"Daddy is good."
"Yes, Daddy is good."
"Love Daddy."
"Yes, love Daddy."
It had been a long ti since such tenderness had graced their ti.
Ji Chicheng stood at the door, watching his wife and daughter; their mundane conversation lted his once ice-cold heart.
He shifted his gaze to Ji Anning’s waist, and from her posture, it was clear that she had indeed suffered a severe injury there.
He frowned slightly, unable to suppress his regret for his actions the night before.
