He massaged his temples, refusing to let himself think further, and started working, imrsing himself in busyness all morning.
"Boss, the people from H.G have arrived, we can set off now."
It happened to be lunchti when Beige ca knocking on the door, indicating that the business partners they were eting today had already arrived in City N.
Ji Chicheng nodded, quickly finished the work at hand, closed his laptop, grabbed his coat, and stood up.
It was alti, and the hotel was bustling with people coming and going.
In the western restaurant on the second floor, there weren’t many tables, but each one offered a view of the outside from different angles.
At a central position by the row of windows, a beautiful mixed-race woman dressed in a black business suit noticed Ji Chicheng and Beige approaching, stood up with a smile, and greeted them, "Hello, Mr. Ji."
As she reached Ji Chicheng, she politely extended her right hand, "I’m Korea, the new CEO of H.G. I’m pleased to et you."
Ji Chicheng’s lips curved slightly, and he extended his hand gentlemanly to shake hers.
"Please sit."
The woman seed quite young but gave off a very capable impression; even Beige standing next to her felt sowhat overshadowed.
Sitting across from Ji Chicheng, facing his always cool and distant expression, she did not show the slightest discomfort, and with a smile, she shared so amusing anecdotes from her trip to City N, lightening the atmosphere.
Ji Chicheng occasionally nodded or offered a shallow smile, but mostly it was Beige who carried the conversation.
The al concluded with more than just signatures on the contract, although work-related topics weren’t discussed much.
As the three of them left the private room together, Korea unabashedly stared at Ji Chicheng’s handso face for a while, then candidly laughed, "I believe my boss sent here just to get a glimpse of Mr. Ji’s handso face."
Such direct praise did not offend Ji Chicheng in the slightest, he nodded slightly, in a gentlemanly manner, to Korea’s straightforward personality.
"Get out of the way, bitch."
Suddenly, a coarse curse from a man ca from behind. Before Ji Chicheng and his group could react, a staggeringly sexy woman from M country bumped into Korea, who was standing beside Ji Chicheng.
Korea, wearing high heels, twisted her foot slightly from the forceful collision, lost her balance, and began to fall backward.
Ji Chicheng reacted instinctively, reaching out to grasp Korea’s arm, catching her before she could fall to the ground.
Korea, too, reacted swiftly, grabbing Ji Chicheng’s wrist and using his support to stand up; as she straightened, her head brushed against Ji Chicheng’s chin.
This was the first ti that Beige, after so many years of working with Ji Chicheng, had seen a woman, other than Ji Anning, get this close to him while he was sober.
She was sowhat surprised, looking at Ji Chicheng’s handso face, which still bore its characteristic cool detachnt.
The foreign man who had yelled rushed over, grabbed the woman he had shoved down, hauled her up, and pushed her against the wall with force, dispersing a strong sll of alcohol into the air.
’Uncle!’
’Get out!’
The stench of alcohol on the drunk man triggered Ji Chicheng to rember his drunken mories from the night before, causing his heart to tighten.
"Beige, please continue looking after Miss Korea."
With a nod to Beige, Ji Chicheng released Korea’s arm, took long strides, and walked rapidly toward the elevator.
