Xin Xiaoxiao often went to the hospital out of boredom, and since Qiu Yang and Xiang Yiqing were in the sa clinic, they eventually beca sowhat familiar with each other.

But usually, it was Xin Xiaoxiao who greeted first.

After greeting Qiu Yang, Xin Xiaoxiao looked at Xiang Yiqing. Seeing that he still kept his head down, not looking at her, she reached out and gave him a light push, "Mrs. Zhou is in a bad condition, do you want to go see her?"

"Oh." Xiang Yiqing responded, lowering the hand that was supporting his forehead and tidying up the stuff on the table.

Xin Xiaoxiao frowned, puzzled and dissatisfied with his response, "What do you an ’oh’? Are you going or not? If you’re not going, then have lunch with first; I’ll go see her in the afternoon."

Coming to find him for lunch again... Xiang Yiqing looked up at Xin Xiaoxiao and asked in confusion, "Aren’t you getting engaged? Have you finished all the trivial tasks?"

Xin Xiaoxiao rolled her eyes, "Engagent is just an engagent, I just need to be there."

Speaking with a nonchalant tone, as if the engagent had nothing to do with her.

Then she pouted, looking aggrieved, "I don’t want to marry him, but the old man in my family has already promised."

This topic left Xiang Yiqing unsure of how to respond.

Watching Xin Xiaoxiao’s slightly upturned lips and unwilling appearance, he felt helpless, but his heart couldn’t help softening as he asked her, "What do you want for lunch?"

Having known her for such a long ti, he had learned a bit about her background. To put it simply, her mother passed away when she was young, and her father only provided material comfort without giving her anything else.

He figured this out through his interactions with her. She never talked about these things, expressing no negativity, staying always positive.

It felt like in her world, nothing was a big deal except death.

It was only once during a chat, when she inadvertently ntioned it, that he found out her father attended only two of her school parent-teacher etings from elentary to high school, one of which was just a brief appearance.

This fiancé was also chosen by her father, reportedly for family business reasons.

"The pickled fish place across the street."

Xin Xiaoxiao answered promptly and loudly.

It seed she was certain Xiang Yiqing would have lunch with her and had already decided what to eat.

Xiang Yiqing nodded, "Then wait for for a bit."

As he spoke, he grasped the mouse and shut down the computer.

He thodically tidied up the papers and pens on the table, glancing at the mousse cake on the left side of the computer, hesitating for a mont.

Just as he was about to reach for and take it, Xin Xiaoxiao suddenly stretched out her hand first and picked up the mousse, "Cake, and it’s a delicious mousse."

She exclaid in delight, then asked Xiang Yiqing, "Can I eat it?"

Xiang Yiqing instinctively nodded but then rembered that Qiu Yang had bought the cake for him, and Qiu Yang was still sitting across from him. Giving away the cake just like that seed a bit inappropriate.

So he imdiately reached out, took the mousse cake back from Xin Xiaoxiao’s hand, and with a slight smile told her, "This is for my afternoon tea. I’ll buy you one at the entrance in a bit."

Saying this, he stood up, placed the mousse cake back in the bag, carried it, and walked ahead of Xin Xiaoxiao.

Xin Xiaoxiao looked at his tall back, snorted coldly, "It’s just a piece of cake, stingy."

She looked a hundred thousand tis displeased with him, yet still happily followed along.
