The atmosphere in the hospital room beca strange; no one dared to speak loudly, all afraid that the woman would turn her wrath on them.
An Yin listened to the insinuating remarks of others, feeling intensely stifled inside, yet she did not want to argue with them. So people beco more arrogant the more you try to reason with them.
She didn’t want to waste her ti on others, so An Yin turned her head, "Mom, you haven’t had breakfast yet, have you?"
"I can’t eat," An Ying said softly, looking at her daughter’s caring eyes.
"That’s not okay; you should get sothing to eat first."
Noticing the dark circles under An Ying’s eyes, An Yin felt a pang of guilt in her heart. Ms. An had always been inconvenienced physically, but she stayed here all night taking care of her and clearly hadn’t rested. Thinking about this made An Yin feel even more remorseful.
It’s all because of my greed!
"No need," An Ying gracefully declined.
While the two were chatting, An Yin’s phone rang again.
Seeing her daughter’s troubled expression, An Ying finally spoke up, "Answer it."
An Yin gave An Ying a weak glance, then turned slightly, answering the call with her back towards An Ying.
"Where are you?" The boy’s voice on the other end was cool and detached.
Montarily taken aback, An Yin blurted out, "Hospital..." As soon as she said it, she shut her mouth, looking regretful.
"Specific location," Bao Shaojin demanded gravely.
An Yin didn’t rush to answer him but instead asked nervously, "Do you know I didn’t go to class?" Otherwise, why would he start by asking where she was?
"Yes," Bao Shaojin humd faintly.
"How do you know?" An Yin looked wary, gripping the phone tightly.
The feeling was terrifying to her, as though her every move was under the man’s surveillance.
"An Yin, nothing is difficult for to find out," Bao Shaojin replied.
The man’s arrogant tone sent a chill down her spine.
An Yin was completely stunned, unable to process the man’s open display of control. She didn’t know what to say; her cheeks puffed up and her chest heaved, showing her anger.
"Where are you?" Bao Shaojin asked again.
In a huff, An Yin retorted, "Aren’t you so great? You know everything."
With that, An Yin, unusually resolute, hung up the phone. To prevent his call back, she quickly turned off her phone.
An Ying sat to the side, hearing her daughter’s angry tone, it seed she had had a spat with soone. An Ying couldn’t imagine her usually sweet daughter could be so tough.
A trace of delight flashed in An Ying’s heart. To young masters like Bao Shaojin, they probably hated quarrelso girls the most. Perhaps if they argued a few more tis, they would stop seeing each other, which would relieve her of a burden.
At nine o’clock, the doctor ca to do rounds.
By nine-thirty, a nurse pushed a dical cart into the room to prepare for the patient’s IV...
An Ying stood by, noticed that her daughter’s complexion was no longer as pale as it was last night, and felt a bit relieved.
An Yin didn’t have much IV solution, only two bottles, and around ten-thirty the nurse ca to remove the needle.
Just then, the neighboring patient’s family and friends ca to visit, about five or six of them. Standing in the hallway, An Yin looked up and saw a large crowd. What annoyed her more was that among them, two young n had their eyes fixed on her since they entered.
An Ying also noticed. With many people on their side, they couldn’t say much.
In embarrassnt, An Ying could only pull up her daughter’s quilt, covering her up to the chin.
The mother and daughter had frequently drawn the gaze of the n since they appeared in the room.
An Ying had a graceful figure, her face resembling a classic beauty, slightly charming, captivating anyone who laid eyes on her.
As for the girl lying in the bed, she resembled An Ying. Her clear, bright eyes were like a fairy untouched by worldly dust, exuding an innocent aura that was irresistible.
The presence of these two beauties in the hospital room was a rare sight for the usually rough-looking n.
The noisy hospital room felt like a bustling marketplace.
With so many people, even the air was filled with mixed slls, from sweat to fruit, to disinfectant...
An Ying, who hadn’t slept a wink all night, found every second in the room excruciating. Her limbs ached, and her head pounded; she was at her limit.
An Ying propped herself up on the bed with her hands, her face notably pale.
An Yin looked up just then and saw it.
"Mom, what’s wrong?" An Yin hurriedly sat up from the bed, holding An Ying’s arm with both hands.
"N-nothing," An Ying waved her hand weakly.
"That can’t be true..."
An Ying’s face looked terrible, and her tightly knit brows made it clear she was pushing herself.
Just then, everyone noticed that the half-open door was pushed wide by the leading doctor, followed closely by an imposing man.
An Yin instinctively turned her head, just to et the man’s cold, deep eyes.
Locked in a gaze, the man, initially inscrutable, exuded a chilling aura upon seeing the scene in the room.
Bao Shaojin looked at the girl on the bed, her expression anxious, clearly faced with a tricky situation, then he saw Ms. An nearby.
"Aunt An!" Bao Shaojin stepped forward gracefully, greeting her respectfully.
An Ying nodded, her pale face revealing her discomfort.
Aunt Zhang, who had been trailing at the rear, didn’t care about anything else. She hurried to An Ying’s side, seeing her haggard face, speaking tenderly, "Look at you, you’ve let yourself go in just a mont."
"Sister Zhang," An Ying felt a wave of warmth in her heart upon seeing Aunt Zhang.
Over the years, no matter what she faced, she dealt with it alone. Now, having soone to lean on allowed her feigned strength to waver slightly.
The narrow room suddenly beca crowded with so many people.
Bao Shaojin, seeing the situation, shot a glance at Assistant Lin.
Soon, Assistant Lin whispered a few words to the doctor.
From the mont An Yin saw Bao Shaojin, she was in a daze, and by the ti she ca to her senses, she had already been moved to a VIP room.
An Ying, assisted by Aunt Zhang, went to the rest room.
Compared to the previous chaotic hospital room, the spacious room now only had one bed, with complete living facilities—drastic improvent from the earlier ordinary ward.
As for why An Ying was persuaded to move here, it was probably the earlier experience in the room that put her on guard, and with her own body severely exhausted, she had to follow Bao Shaojin’s arrangents.
