One of the perks of coming clean and sharing Penny’s little secret with Zoren was that she could talk about her past life freely. Although they had discussed a lot of it while Penny was letting her other ego co out, this was sothing different.

anwhile, when she said she needed a brainstorming buddy, Zoren initially thought it was about sothing else. But when she started listing what had been on her mind, he understood why she needed another mind to think alongside her.

[Every day is a battle in this mind, so don’t be one of the battles I have to fight.]

What she said last night resonated in his mind as he listened to her worries. Although everything she was saying concerned him and stirred emotions that were enough to make one’s blood boil, he couldn’t help but admire how she expressed herself. The more she talked, the more she revealed just how complex and beautiful her mind was.

"Did you hear everything I said?" Penny turned her head to the side, blinking. "So, don’t punish them, okay?"

"..." Zoren remained quiet. "It’s already done."

Just now, Penny was talking about Zoren not punishing his n. After all, she was aware that the reason she wasn’t being watched by his n was due to her request. She felt bad if they were to be punished when they had only listened to her orders.

"Renren, when we exchanged guards, that also ant they had to listen to ," she mumbled, sounding like she was complaining. "I don’t ddle with Angel, even if he sses up. It’s unfair. We need a new rule about this."

"..."

"But first, don’t look at . Keep staring at the ceiling. I don’t want my beauty distracting you." She waved a hand, signaling him to look ahead.

Zoren blinked, but he reluctantly peeled his gaze from her. He set his eyes on the wall and up at the ceiling, catching a glimpse of their feet resting on the wall. Earlier, Penny and Zoren had been seated on the beanbags, but now he didn’t know how they ended up lying on the beanbags with their feet resting on the wall.

Their position seed so relaxed, but in a way, he understood that Penny needed to be at ease.

"Since Angel is already handling your security and I’m not ddling with it, let your n do their job too!" she remarked sternly. "If they deserve punishnt, then I’m the one to decide that."

Zoren didn’t answer imdiately as he thought about it. "Okay, but promise one thing."

"Hmm?"

"Wherever you go or whatever you do, keep them around. At least, Mark." He looked back at her again. "Please."

"Uh... right. I will." Penny smiled. "It’s just that yesterday, I was... my brain was a little foggy, and it was full of uncertainty. I wasn’t comfortable knowing soone was witnessing how I slowly went crazy."

"I understand."

"So, that’s settled?"

"Mhm."

"Then don’t punish them anymore, alright?"

"Okay." Zoren nodded slowly before he added, "About the damage that has been done... I’m sorry about that."

Penny’s face twitched as she stared at her husband. Initially, she had thought that Zoren made his n run laps until they were crawling. But now that he said that, she guessed the punishnts weren’t as simple as that.

"Just... whatever they were doing, tell them to stop and relax," she blurted out. "We’re staying here anyway, so they can use the ti to recover."

Zoren smiled in satisfaction. "Okay."

’Why would he smile like that?’she wondered, wrinkling her nose. But to save herself from more stressful thoughts, she put that idea aside and set her eyes on the ceiling.

"So, you went to the psychiatric clinic yesterday?" he repeated for clarification, and she nodded. "And your drunk self... doesn’t want to co out anymore?"

"Uh-huh."

"Does that an if you drink, she’s still going to wake up?"

Penny humd a long tune before she shrugged. "I don’t know," she said. "All I know is that she’s going to be there." Her lips then curled up as she added, "But it’s not going to be as problematic as before. Think of it as just being normally drunk."

"I see." Zoren nodded again. "Going to a psychiatric clinic isn’t sothing to be ashad of."

"I know." She snapped her eyes at him, smirking. "Though I don’t think you should be the one to say that, having visited all types of clinics throughout your life."

"..." Zoren opened his mouth but closed it as he cast her a look. But Penny already looked away, a mischievous smile plastered on her face.

"Anyway, that’s not the point. I only ntioned it because I was worried about Mark."

"I see." Again, Zoren set his eyes upward, catching her toes casually clipping his pants as if to kill ti. "So, during the hypnosis, you saw this Jonathan Pierson? Should we hire a forensic sketch artist to get a clear visual of Jonathan Pierson?"

Penny’s face twitched a little as she cast Zoren a look. Before she could say anything, Zoren spoke again.

"I’m not going to look at it, just the people around us," he clarified, looking back at her. "Particularly my bodyguards and yours."

"Ah, right? Haha! I knew it. My husband is smart," Penny laughed, raising her brows as she felt disgusted at herself for what she almost told him. "Don’t worry about that. I’ll call soone who can do the sketch."

"I can recomnd one as well, in case you need it."

"Thanks."

After that, silence ensued as the two of them pondered everything Penny had told him. She shared everything she discovered during the hypnosis and how so of her cloudy mories from her first life suddenly beca clearer.

"Nathaniel." Penny blinked as a thought crossed her mind briefly, turning her head to look at her husband’s side profile. "Didn’t he go by the na Jonathan Pierson while scheming with Patricia?"

Zoren nodded. "However, when he confessed, he said it was William Pierson."

"Your cousin?"

"Mhm."

"Do you think your cousin knows Jonathan Pierson?" she asked. "Renren, in my first life, Jonathan Pierson was a legal part of the Pierson family. Otherwise, Nina wouldn’t have had such a grand engagent."

"I’ll double-check," he said, even though he was sure there was no Jonathan Pierson in the family registry. "Grandma might know, so I’ll ask her."

Penny nodded, sighing in relief as the saying "two heads are better than one" proved to be true. Her relief, however, didn’t last long when Zoren spoke his mind.

"Finn Davis..." Zoren humd. "Now this bothers ."

"I know, right?"

Zoren slowly cast her a side-eye. "He’s one of my soldiers."
