In the end, Max and Hugo ended up having to carry all of Lily’s shopping bags since there was just too much for one person to do it.
"Why did she even buy so much if she can’t carry it herself?" Max grumbled, now walking back to the hotel where Ginnie and Lily were staying. He peeked over at the side of the shopping bags he was carrying, narrowing his eyes to see that neither Lily nor Ginnie were carrying anything.
"Heh. If you regret even volunteering, why did you volunteer?" Hugo mocked, making Max glare at him.
But alas, Max couldn’t even get angry anymore because Hugo had this improvised collar where he hooked so of the shopping bags.
"Tsk." Max clicked his tongue irritably, shaking his head. "You should’ve just gone with your sister or Slater."
"As if I’d let you win."
"This is not about winning or losing, idiot." The vein in Max’s forehead protruded. "The only reason I volunteered is because my accommodation is close to these girls. You had to catch the ferry to go to the other island. Well, you’re athletic. If you run, you could probably reach the last ferry."
Hugo’s steps halted, frozen in place. Noticing this, Max slowed down and looked back.
"There’s... a last ferry?" Hugo blurted out, his face full of dread.
Max’s face twitched as he asked, "Don’t tell you didn’t know that?" and Hugo’s expression gave him the answer.
Hugo had no idea there was a curfew to cross the island. Max shook his head and resud his steps.
"Why do I even bother arguing with an idiot like him?" Max wondered to himself. "Doesn’t that make the bigger fool?"
With that, Max didn’t care about Hugo anymore. He had no idea how Hugo recovered, but eventually, the latter caught up.

anwhile, Lily and Ginnie were walking a few ters away from the two. Ginnie couldn’t help but look back at Max and Hugo, her face contorting.
"Lily, aren’t we supposed to help them?" asked Ginnie, gazing at the lady walking beside her.
As usual, Lily giggled evilly. "Oh ho~ How could I do that? Both of them didn’t want us to carry anything. So, I can’t just hurt their feelings like that."
"They said that because you keep hitting their egos, though."
"Besides, this dress is too pretty to not show off. Hihihi~!"
Then why did you buy so much?
Ginnie shook her head and sighed a bit, shrugging. "Well, it seems they’re doing okay," she said, even though it was clear that the reason Hugo and Max were falling far behind was because of how many shopping bags they had to carry. "Lily, by the way, why did you buy so much? I don’t think you’d need all of those."
"I’m buying them for the kids."
"Huh?"
Lily grinned from ear to ear, her eyes squinting. "Didn’t I ntion that I stumbled upon this orphanage? The kids there are so cute and sweet. So, I always buy so souvenirs during my trips, making sure everyone has one. In that way, they’ll feel like they also went to the places I’ve been."
"Oh..." A look of surprise washed over Ginnie’s face briefly before a wide smile replaced it. "I guess that makes sense. Now that you said that, I don’t feel as bad as I thought toward those two."
"It’s their fault for having such huge and frail egos." Lily winked at her. "I don’t mind that, though, since I benefit from it. Most importantly, I’m not marrying them."
With that, the two of them laughed and moved on, chatting about sothing else as if there weren’t two n behind them carrying mountains of souvenirs.

"Third Brother, I didn’t know you liked the night market," Benjamin said in awe, walking beside Slater as they headed toward the night market. "I thought, since you’re a celebrity, you wouldn’t step foot in the night market."
Slater smirked. "The night market is the life of the trip. How could I miss it? Besides, international trips to places like this are the best. No paparazzi, no fans, and no annoying people who wouldn’t even let pee for a picture."
"Mr. Ben, Slater might be a superstar, but he lives up to his reputation!" Jas bragged, making Benjamin squint his eyes suspiciously.
"Mr. Jas, I think you just missed what your artist said just now," Benjamin mumbled. "He was basically calling everyone annoying."
The reputation Jas was talking about was that Slater was known to cherish his fans. Slater was said to be not just beautiful on the outside, but also on the inside. Yet, it seed Slater was just like every celebrity at the peak of their career—the sa as those who wanted so privacy after putting themselves out there.
"Hehe. Slater is not perfect, but he’s actually a good person," Jas remarked, laughing awkwardly.
Benjamin pouted and then glanced at Slater. It wasn’t that he was doubting what Jas had said. It was just that Slater was far more different than the dia portrayed him to be. By that, Benjamin ant that Slater was more human than what his fans and others thought.
"Ah, that shop!" Slater perked up and quickened his steps, almost skipping toward the stall not far away from him.
Benjamin and Jas didn’t rush, as they weren’t that interested in the stalls around here. Besides, the night market would lead them to the bars. So, they weren’t in a hurry.
"Sir Ben, why did you decide to co with us?" Jas asked out of pure curiosity.
"Huh? Well, you said everyone is welco to join you."
"Of course! I’m just asking because I thought you’d want to spend more ti with Penny and your boss."
Benjamin pouted. "I wanted to, but then, I have to go back here. It’s been a long day."
"Can’t you just stay where they’re staying?"
"I can’t. My cousin is here. I don’t want her barging into the rest house to drag back ho."
Jas’ face twitched. "Well, I think you did ntion staying at your cousin’s place. You should’ve asked her to co with us earlier."
"I did, but she had other plans for the day. Though, I told her we were going to the bar and invited her. She said she’ll co."
"Oh, nice!" Jas said, not realizing that this cousin Benjamin was talking about was actually a very familiar face.
"By the way, are we forgetting sothing?" Benjamin furrowed his brows, making Jas tilt his head.
"Eh, it’s probably nothing." Jas laughed until he thought about it and stopped. The color drained from his face, causing Benjamin to stop in his tracks to look back at him. "Oh no."
"What is it?"
"Ray. We left him. We forgot about him."
Benjamin’s mouth slowly opened as he gasped. "Right! OMG!"
