After returning, John didn’t bother going to the Tar’s Market in the city.

While Azelis went to grab maps for him, John went to the Logistic Hall and spent 3121 Silver Essence Coins on resources.

8 x Silver-rank tal-attributed resources.

5 x Silver-rank Blood-attributed resources.

’Hmm, I might as well take a little risk to increase Alfred’s Blood Mastery to level 2.’

John paid 34 Gold Essence Coins and bought a Gold-rank Blood-attributed resource.

Alfred’s Gene Potential had reached 100, so John planned to trigger-spend it after feeding this Gold-rank resource, which could either awaken a Talent or evolve a skill as well as increase Blood Mastery to level 2.

"Hey, brother John!"

Just as John was returning to the courtyard, he saw a familiar dark-green-haired fifteen-year-old kid, one of his well-wishers he had t on the airship when returning from the expedition.

"What’s up, Oliver?" John casually asked.

"How’s the training and progress going? I can see you’ve already entered the Silver-stage in stats," Oliver grinned.

"It’s going smoothly. I am going to so wilderness to train further and will likely depart in the evening," John said with a faint smile. "Once I return, I’m going to get to the top five and win a quota to enter that exotic dinsional island."

"Damn, wish I had your confidence." Oliver wryly chuckled. "But before you go, are you dropping by the Arena or not?"

"Actually, I am coming to the Arena soon. In just half an hour at most."

"Oh?! That’s aweso. I’ma go and gather my group now. I can’t wait to see you fight and your Pets!"

Oliver left like an excited kid who got a lollipop, while John returned to the courtyard.

Just a minute after that, Azelis also arrived, but her mood had shifted, appearing annoyed.

"Damn bastards..." Azelis muttered.

"What happened?" John blinked, curious about the cause of her bad mood.

"I was originally supposed to leave tonight, but now I have to go to the Nexus City in two hours. I feel like they did this deliberately to stop from dropping you off," Azelis said before she angrily snorted. "That old bastard Jason likely pulled a string after seeing getting the maps."

"No worries, I’ll be fine on my own," John said with a laugh. "Pymon is Silver-rank now, and he can fly pretty fast."

"Nope. I am coming to drop you off. Screw it," Azelis snorted.

John dryly chuckled, but also felt good. "Alright. But then we can depart earlier. I’ll just do so sparring in the Arena for an hour, and then we’ll depart at three o’clock in the noon."

It was already almost 1 p.m.

"If you are fine with that, sure. Here, take out your badge and let this one touch it," Azelis took out a tallic thumb-sized badge with carved patterns of different natural geographical things woven together.

John took out his Ouroboros Hall’s badge, which was the size of a five-year-old’s palm. Azelis touched it with the badge she brought, and both of them glimred a bit.

"Infuse a bit of soul energy in it, and you’ll see a different hologram now."

John infused a bit of soul energy, and his badge suddenly produced a hologram with details of the official na he used to register here, his age, rank, and an extra tab that wasn’t there before.

[ John Wicked ]

-Age: 16

-Rank: Silver

< Maps >

John touched the and the hologram changed, displaying a map of the entire Gratar Continent.

"Touch the places in the southeast, and it will zoom in. This is a complete map with all details of wilderness areas and kingdoms of all five regions."

John blinked and touched the map. He began surfing in the southeast area, and a few minutes later, he decided on a wilderness area of the Bladevow Region, which housed 36 kingdoms and four major wilderness areas.

"I want to go to this Starfall Mountain Range."

Azelis frowned a bit but eased up a mont later. "That one is a bit dangerous since there are King-rank Monsters there, but no worries. I planned to give you so protection anyway. You rember Lesly, right? She will be coming as your guardian."

"What?!" John involuntarily exclaid as this wasn’t sothing he wanted at all!

Azelis was surprised by the reaction.

John quickly coughed and said with a wry smile, "Teacher, I want to train solo, please."

’And I have a King-rank Spirit Armor! I’ll be fine. I can also escape easily into Monster Paradise.’ John wanted to say this, but obviously, he couldn’t.

Azelis frowned. "A silver-rank Tar going there alone is courting death."

"Pretty please...." John pleaded, expression puppy-eyes. "If you can provide so other kind of protection, I’ll take it, but I want to go alone. Alone is better for training."

Azelis rubbed her chin before nodding. Waving her hand, a mysterious palm-sized orb appeared in front of her, which had a full-body robe with a hood.

"This is King-rank Spirit Armor of robe-type."

She then snapped her finger as a talisman appeared in her hand. "And this is a teleport talisman imbued with a teleport-type skill of an Emperor-rank Monster. If a King-rank Monster went after you, the Spirit Armor can save you, but not forever if the monster decides to target you."

"In that case, use this talisman and return here. It will cost energy of 1000 Silver Essence Coins to activate, so here are the coins." Azelis took out a storage pouch next and gave it to him after putting the talisman inside."

"And this spirit armor will stay in your soul space. Bind with it so it can appear as equipped over your body with a thought. "Azelis then pushed the orb containing the Spirit Armor into his chest before glaring at him, her eyes firm. "Don’t be reckless there and don’t die."

"I won’t die. Never." John cheekily grinned as he took the storage pouch. "Thank you for the protection asures."

"Mhmm," Azelis eased up and nodded with a smile. "Now, let’s go and show off your combat in the Arena. Many people are interested in seeing the first glimpses of your combat prowess, especially the executives and hall master."

"Aye!"

As Azelis turned around and John followed, Azelis said, "You don’t need to fight in full combat form. It’s better to keep your Monsters’ skills hidden until the competition. That’ll give you an edge even if a little."

"So jsut pure martial combat, eh?" John grinned.

"Yep. Crush everyone who challenges you. The combat rings in the arena have a special field where it equals the stats of combatants inside, suppressing the one with more stats to be on the sa level as the opponent, so the fights are purely dependent on one’s martial prowess and combat sense.

"But don’t be arrogant," Azelis glanced at him. "There are so Silver-rank tars who are good and have trained in different martial arts and are proficient in their weapons as they’ve been training for years."

"Got it," John somberly replied. "But I don’t plan to lose any match. That’d suck big ti for ."

Azelis chuckled. "Well, that depends on you, so good luck."

...

While John went to the Arena, the Starfall Mountain Range wasn’t as quiet.

Unlike Ouroboros Hall, the other four ruling sects had branches all across the four regions, especially around major wilderness areas like Starfall Mountain Range, as they were rich with resources and Monsters.

Coincidentally, a Kingdom to the east of the mountain range—Haizek Kingdom—was having a fair bit of trouble from evil Tars, stealing the young prince and princess and escaping into the Starfall Mountain Range.

The Haizek Kingdom was powerful, as it had produced King-rank Tars and mbers of the ruling sects.

John going there could result in so kind of lucky fortune or cut his trip short. Only ti would tell.
