Both of them arrived before the group.
The King-ranked Tar, a dark pink-haired girl who looked around the sa age as Azelis, greeted her.
Afterward, Azelis promptly introduced John. "He is a new Tar I’ve brought from one of the four regions. He’ll be joining you on this expedition."
John smiled and waved his hand lightly once. "Hi, I am John Wicked."
"Wicked?"
"Pff..."
Azelis snorted, and the kids turned silent.
The Silver-rank Tars in this group were mostly around John’s age—sixteen or seventeen at most.
John cracked his fingers with his hands behind his back as he looked at them boringly. Public opinion about him was sothing he never took heed of—not in his past life, not in this one—unless they decided to make their opinions personal and physical.
’You all better stay in your lane, kiddos. My na’s not the only thing that’s wicked.’
"Lesly, explain to him about this expedition. I’ll get going as I have to be at Nexus City soon," Azelis said to the long, dark-pink-haired King-ranked Tar.
’John, try to make friends, as there are so good kids here. And if soone sses with you... well, tell Lesly first.’
As Azelis left, Lesly first told the students to get on the airship’s deck while she stayed at the end, approaching John with a smile. "Hello, John. I’m Lesly."
"Nice to et you."
"Co, let’s get on the ship. I’ll tell you what we’re going to do."
As they walked, Lesly told John about the activity.
It was simple. They were going to a small island belonging to the Ouroboros Hall’s territory where there were Silver-rank Monsters and resources.
These 50 Silver-rank Tars of the first year would explore and compete to gather resources.
On top of everyone being able to take what they found, the top three who found the most valuable resources would be awarded 5000, 3000, and 1000 Silver Essence Coins for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rank, respectively.
100 Bronze Essence = 1 Silver Essence
100 Silver Essence = 1 Gold Essence
However, exchanging 1 Gold Essence for 100 Silver Essence was considered a lower value. If a vendor was selling sothing for 5 Gold Essence Coins, he would accept 500 Silver Essence Coins, but if another person offered 5 Gold Essence Coins, the latter would be prioritized by the seller.
After all, the higher-ranked the Essence Coins, the rarer they were in the market—and Essence Coins of each rank had additional uses in monster training, so higher-ranked ones would always be more in demand and priority, which also created an exchange boundary that King Essence Coins or higher cannot be exchanged with Gold or lower Essence Coins.
One reason was the quality, and another was the clear disparity in value and power. In a sense, it was easy to beco a Gold-rank Tar, but after that, only 20% to 10% of Tars would be able to beco King-ranked Tars due to a tough requirent and dire consequences of failing, unlike Monsters, who got no such blocks as long as they managed to evolve to a higher potential form.
...
The ship departed and traveled about 200 kiloters into the sea before arriving at the island.
All students were given a wristband to use in case they encountered life-threatening danger, as infusing a tiny bit of soul energy into it would teleport the Tar back to the ship’s deck.
John saw four pillars at the corners of the deck, with strange patterns carved into them and spirit crystals stored below each of them, indicating that this formation enabled the teleport function.
"Alright, kids. Get ready to jump down at your desired location."
As the ship flew across the island at a low altitude, the kids began jumping down—so using skills of their pets or soul techniques, others displaying physical dexterity as they used trees and jumps as leverage to land safely.
John jumped down at the end, when the airship had crossed over 70% of the island.
As he dived straight down, he grabbed the branches, swinging his hips to rotate twice before flinging himself several ters forward and then grabbing another branch to support another swing, landing beside a pond.
Summoning Alfred and Pymon, John stretched his arms and legs, then cracked his fingers. "Alright, ti to rumble, guys."
"Howl!" Alfred howled, alerting John to a target.
"Oho? That chap looks good."
A monster was perched on a tree branch forty ters away, its two predatory eyes gleaming red.

"A talentless chap, but quite an experienced and trained one," John muttered as he looked at the status.
Alfred growled, eyes locked.
"Yeah, you two go and beat him up a bit. I’m going to store him in the Monster Paradise," John grinned.
With nobody watching him here, he could use his powers freely.
Swoosh!
Pymon and Alfred made their moves—one speeding with flapping wings and wind, the other turning into a dark streak of light.
The Tigerfiend knew it was screwed, so it promptly tried to flee.
Alas, it wasn’t as fast as Alfred, and Pymon, with Wind Mastery Level 1, was nearly as fast as Silver-rank monsters.
By the ti John arrived, the tiger was already beaten and suppressed by Alfred and Pymon.
John sent it into Monster Paradise, joining the others as everyone gathered near the Vermillion Trees Canopy.
"Chichi..."
The Draconite Bloodlight Worm landed right on John’s head, swinging across ten ters with a web from a tree branch.
The little guy couldn’t speak as it was still Bronze-rank and in its adolescent stage, but it was attracted to John and his soul—just like how newborn Pymon had gone toward John instead of Yuna.
"Yeah, it’s ti for you to grow as well, little guy." John smiled as he rubbed the worm a bit.
On the other hand, Alfred and Pymon were already speaking with the Tigerfiend, which looked around in confusion, wondering how they suddenly arrived here from that beautiful island.
John had already freed Barkhide Beetle from contract, and he was searching for an opportunity to grow the Draconite Bloodlight Worm.
Since he was here on this island, it was the perfect ti to train his official third pet monster.
John infused Soul Energy into the worm and communicated, though there wasn’t any trouble—the worm readily accepted the contract.
"Your na is... Rexion. Do you like it?"
The worm nodded, its big eyes shining.
John laughed and rubbed its head.
He then walked to the Tigerfiend and stared at it. The Tigerfiend shrank its neck. "Hello, Lord John. I will be in your care."
John smiled and waved his hand, creating a rocky area with tallic ore growing, rocks, and so tal-attributed trees.
"Here, your new ho. But for now..." John looked at the Shardstone Crocodile and Glimrlune Snake before grinning.
"You all will co out and adventure with . This island has lots of monsters and resources, so it’s ti for work and fun."
Hearing that they were going out, the monsters’ eyes lit up.
And so, John erged from Monster Paradise with his whole gang.
"Starry, Pymon, Roby, Toby, and Coby—you five will fly up and give information to Pymon, who will then relay it to . If you find any resources, snatch them. If there are Silver-rank monsters protecting it, inform ."
"Alfred, you take Shimr, Crocky, and Tigerfiend to hunt monsters around as I travel. But priority is finding resources and beating down monsters so I can send them into Monster Paradise."
The monsters nodded.
"And I will train this little guy," John said.
"Peee!" Rexion cried out excitedly.
...
In the blink of an eye, five hours passed by, and John had a wonderful haul of both monsters and resources from this island with everyone’s help!
