Chapter 413: Life after catastrophe Chapter 413: Life after catastrophe It wasn’t long before soone knocked on the door.

“The person I was waiting for is here.” Arnold stood up to open the door.

“Mr. Johnson, here’s the item you ordered.” The person outside the door said politely.

Arnold said, “Thank you,”

then took out a tip and handed it to the person outside the door.

The person outside the door replied politely and eagerly: “Thank you, Mr. Johnson.”

Arnold closed the door and put the box he received in front of Victoria, “Open it and take a look.”

“Are you going to give another gift?” Victoria asked him.

Arnold looked into her eyes, responding to her smile, and said affectionately: “Of course celebrate life after catastrophe.”

For so reason, Victoria suddenly felt a sour feeling and couldn’t help but ask, “Do you often give gifts to others too?”

By “others,” both of them knew she was referring to won.

Victoria suddenly hated her own “babbling,” but just like that, she suddenly pictured him with his troops of maids and concubines in his other ho. He was so good at capturing won’s hearts, so had he ever treated others this way too?

As soon as she thought of this, she felt a bit uncomfortable.

“If I say I’ve only given gifts to you, would you believe ?”

“If you say so, I believe you!” Victoria answered him, sowhat indignantly.

Arnold grabbed her little hand and stuffed the gift into her palm, using his other hand to draw a heart on her other hand, and said with certainty: “I have not given gifts to anyone but you, and there are so things I will explain to you.”

Upon hearing his affirmation, Victoria felt inexplicably happy in her heart.

It was unlike her to be so moody, but recently, she often had this problem with Arnold.

Victoria opened the exquisite gift box to find a string of bracelets. The bracelet pattern was a series of small goldfish, carved very delicately and intricately. The curvature of the bracelet resembled the gentle ripples on a lake’s surface as the breeze blew over it.

Seeing these little fish, she understood Arnold’s reference to “life after a catastrophe.”

“Thank you! I love it!” Victoria laughed.

Arnold personally helped her fasten the bracelet, saying as he did so, “I give you gifts not just to please you, but because I hope that each of our experiences can be witnessed by our gifts.”

Before experiencing Arnold, Victoria equated n’s sweet talk with empty flattery. But now, she found Arnold’s sweet words to be genuinely sweet, and she loved to hear them.

Thinking of this, Victoria couldn’t help but blush, feeling unabashed.

“But I’ve never given you any gifts. It doesn’t seem very fair to you,” Victoria said unconsciously and playfully.

To Arnold’s ears, her playful tone was natural and comfortable.

“Your existence is already the best gift. Just by allowing to find you and live with you, my life has beco like a painting.”

“It seems that my gift is worth much more than yours then. In that case, you have to work harder to make my life as intoxicating as poetry and as beautiful as painting,” Victoria said, pushing her luck.

Arnold didn’t mind her pushing her luck at all and instead laughed, “Alright, I’ll listen to you and make sure I think about making your life like poetry and painting every day!”
