“Don’t overthink it,” he reassured her.
Victoria Garcia felt that Arnold had sothing on his mind, and it was related to her.
“Are you really not mad at ?”
“Really.” He rubbed the tip of her nose, his eyes full of adoration.
At this mont, Victoria sowhat whimsically said, “Then will you sleep with ?”
“Yes,” he agreed without hesitation.
He agreed with his body and his heart, but not his reason, because he knew how his body would react to being in bed with her. However, no matter how unbearable it was, it couldn’t withstand her soft invitation, especially since this was the first ti they would share a bed.
This must be her sweet repaynt for feeling guilty! Arnold thought, feeling his heart soften. Perhaps his importance in her heart had increased.
“I’ll go turn off the lights.”
“Alright, I’ll wait for you,” Victoria sweetly replied.
In the spacious bed, Victoria snuggled against Arnold, and after tossing and turning a few tis, she fell into a deep sleep. She felt more tired tonight than any other night.
Compared to Victoria, Arnold nearly had insomnia the entire night.
With her sweet scent in his arms, he couldn’t bear not being able to touch her. It was maddening.
He took four showers throughout the night, finally drifting off to sleep just before dawn.
When Victoria woke up, Arnold wasn’t by her side.
She got up and walked to the living room but didn’t see him there either.
Just as she thought Arnold had gone to the office, she heard the sizzling sounds from the kitchen. Her heart leaped, and she quickly headed that way.
Pushing open the door, there was Arnold wearing a white tank top and light gray pajama pants, holding a flat-bottod frying pan in his left hand and flipping fried eggs with a spatula in his right hand.
“I gave Aunt Taylor the day off, so try the breakfast I made.”
Victoria jokingly replied, “I guess I’ll force myself to try it.”
“Then force yourself to go wash up.”
“Fine, I’ll do that!” she said and quickly went to the bathroom.
Watching her light and lively steps, Arnold put the fried eggs onto a plate, full of happiness.
Once everything was ready, Victoria sat at the dining table, looking at the breakfast and feeling utterly satisfied.
Milk, fried eggs, and butter-fried toast – the crispy and delicious taste fully entered her heart and stomach.
“This taste is just too good,” Victoria couldn’t help but praise. “I must say, this is the most special and delicious butter toast I’ve ever had!”
“In appreciation of your complints, tell a gift you want.”
Victoria laughed and asked, “Wouldn’t that be double dipping?”
“In that case, I don’t mind changing it to you giving a gift,” Arnold replied while taking a bite of toast and smiling.
Victoria, however, would not relent. “You’re truly the one double dipping.”
The two of them joked and laughed, finding happiness and satisfaction in their simple al.
After breakfast, Victoria went to the office to confirm the list of people who would accompany her to Green City and make so arrangents for Wyatt Lee.
Arnold was even busier, as he had to fly to three countries in the coming days. Countless etings and acquisitions would likely wear him out.
This separation might last for a while, and Victoria suddenly felt more reluctant to part. However, work swiftly occupied her mind, leaving no ti to think about these things.
