Evelyn Garcia responded with a hum and then fell silent.
Earl Carter looked at her long, soft, dense black hair spread out behind her white nightgown, her clean little face showing a clear and spirited beauty akin to a freshly blossoming lotus.

After speaking, Earl Carter stood up.
There were too many matters waiting for him to handle, and he had to hurry and clarify everything.
