Arec’s POV:

I stayed in that mont a heartbeat longer, caught between the thrill of what I wanted to do and the uncertainty of how she might react. My pulse thundered in my ears as I watched her, the quiet intensity in her gaze making it impossible to look away. She didn’t pull her hand back, didn’t shift her gaze, and the warmth of her touch seeped into , pushing closer to the edge of my own hesitation.

I morized every detail of her expression, every hint of emotion in her eyes. This, whatever this was between us, felt like a new kind of challenge, one I wasn’t sure I knew how to handle.

But if tonight had taught anything, it was that I wanted to try. I’m not going to avoid it.

Then, with a small, almost shy smile, she finally looked down, letting out a breathy laugh that seed to cut through the tension. "Well, I didn’t know you had that side to you, Mr. Weston."

I chuckled, masking my relief with a grin. "I didn’t either," I admitted, releasing the napkin and straightening up. "But you know, it’s all Sam’s fault, really."

Her eyebrow arched. "Sam?"

"Yes, he’s my friend and the one who convinced to try... all of this," I said, gesturing vaguely toward the arcade behind us and the karaoke bar we’d just left. "I guess he figured I needed to loosen up a bit."

She laughed, nudging playfully. "So this whole night was thanks to him? I’ll have to thank him for such a fun plan, then."

"Oh, don’t. He’d never let live it down," I said, shaking my head. "He’ll say sothing ridiculous like... I’ve finally discovered how to live."

Her laughter was soft, the sound carrying in the quiet street. She took a sip of her drink, looking down at the cup with a thoughtful smile. "Well, whoever’s idea it was, I had a great ti," she murmured. "It was nice to just... be us for a while. No plans, no formalities. Just us."

The sincerity in her voice caught off guard. There was sothing in the way she said it, as though this night had ant as much to her as it had to . And as she looked up at , her expression open and earnest, I felt that tug again, the pull toward sothing I’d been trying to resist but was finding harder and harder to ignore.

"I’m glad," I said quietly, my voice barely above a whisper.

We walked on, the silence between us now carrying a comfortable warmth. I found myself glancing over at her more than once.

The night air was cool, the city lights casting a warm glow over Ella and as we walked. I tried to keep my focus forward, but my gaze kept drifting her way, watching the gentle way she sipped her drink, the way her eyes softened when they fell on sothing that caught her interest.

She looked so effortlessly beautiful under the city lights. A smile tugged at my lips as I realized I was noticing all these little details, feeling strangely grateful for this mont that had sohow fallen into my lap.

I’d been so focused on what we had to be, an arrangent, more like an alliance, that I hadn’t noticed what was right here, quietly unfolding. And now, walking beside her in comfortable silence, it felt like all the noise of that arrangent had disappeared. Here we were, just two people wandering the night, like all those barriers I’d built to protect myself were simply...gone.

Eventually, we reached where I’d parked my car. As I unlocked it and opened the door for her, I tried to ignore the way my heart sped up when she slipped in, brushing close enough for her perfu to catch . I shut the door, rounding the car to my side, hoping she couldn’t hear the steady thump of my pulse over the engine when I started it up.

The drive back to the penthouse was filled with a kind of quiet that wasn’t uncomfortable but thick with sothing I couldn’t quite na.

Every now and then, I’d steal a glance at her, catching her doing the sa. The way her lips parted slightly as she turned to look out the window, the way she tucked her hair behind her ear, all of it tugged at sothing deep within . I knew she felt it, too, the way the air grew heavier, almost charged.

Before I knew it, we were parked outside the building, and I could feel my grip tighten on the steering wheel, not wanting the night to end just yet. I wasn’t ready to let go of whatever this was, this delicate warmth that had ford between us.

She looked over at , and for a long mont, neither of us moved. Her gaze softened, and a small smile touched her lips, her hand lingering on the car door handle as if she, too, didn’t want to leave. "So...thank you," she said softly. "For tonight. I had a really good ti, Arec."

My throat felt tight as I cleared it, nodding. "Anyti," I managed, though my voice betrayed none of the whirlwind I felt inside. The words ca before I could second-guess them, a rush of honesty that felt more vulnerable than I was used to. "Actually...I was hoping we could do this again soti. You know, as a...regular thing."

She looked taken aback for a second, her eyes widening just a fraction, and I felt my pulse quicken in the silence that followed, bracing myself in case I’d overstepped. But then she smiled, a real, genuine smile that seed to light up her entire face. "I’d like that."

Relief washed over , mixed with a strange, thrilling excitent. "Great," I replied, sohow keeping my voice steady. Inside, though, I was anything but calm.

She hesitated for a mont as though gathering her thoughts, then glanced toward the building, looking back at almost shyly. "Would you...like to co up for so tea?"

I could feel my heartbeat skip. "Yeah," I said, the answer tumbling out almost too eagerly. "I’d like that."

In the elevator, the silence returned, but this ti it felt thick with sothing unspoken. I could feel her beside , and every stolen glance between us seed to add to the tension that had been building all night. I didn’t know what was going to happen, only that this mont felt charged, every inch between us suddenly filled with possibilities I hadn’t let myself consider before.

The elevator stopped with a soft ding, but neither of us moved, caught in the intensity of each other’s gaze. I wasn’t sure who made the first move, but before I knew it, her lips were on mine, and we were kissing with a hunger that surprised . It was like everything we’d been holding back finally burst free, spilling over as my hand cupped her face, pulling her closer, feeling her press against just as fiercely.

Even as the doors opened, we didn’t stop. We stumbled out, our movents hurried, as if afraid the mont might slip away if we paused. My spare key was already in my hand, and sohow, without breaking our kiss, I managed to unlock her door. Her fingers found their way into my hair, tugging down to her, and the warmth of her lips was the only thing that mattered as I stepped inside, carrying her over the threshold.

I lifted her, her legs wrapping around my waist with ease despite the gentle curve of her pregnancy bump. Her arms draped around my neck, and for a mont, I pulled back just enough to look at her, my breath catching at the way she looked up at , her eyes dark with desire.

She whispered my na, a sound that felt like it was ant for alone, and I captured her mouth with mine again, the passion between us as fierce and consuming as the first kiss. There was an intensity in the way she held onto , as if she was pouring all of her emotions into that mont, and I couldn’t help but respond with the sa fire.

We made our way to the living room, our movents a little clumsy, too lost in each other to care about anything else. The world outside seed to fade away, leaving only the warmth of her skin, the way her fingers traced gentle patterns along my back, each touch sending a thrill down my spine. My hands found her waist, holding her close as we kissed, our breaths mingling, our hearts racing in unison.

For a brief mont, I pulled back, resting my forehead against hers, needing to catch my breath. Her eyes were half-closed, a soft smile lingering on her lips, and the sight of her like this, her face flushed, her hair slightly tousled, stirred sothing deep within , a feeling I couldn’t ignore anymore.

"Ella..." I whispered, my voice rough with emotion. "I don’t know why it took this long, but...I can’t ignore what I feel for you anymore."

Her gaze softened, and she reached up, her fingers brushing along my jawline. "You don’t have to ignore it," she murmured, her voice barely audible, as if afraid speaking too loud would shatter the fragile intimacy between us.
