"Don't talk; wake up Hu Lu," Wu Hen imdiately signaled the others to stop the chatter.

Hu Lu was sleeping soundly; it was a mystery why, in such a terrifying environnt, people's vigilance could be so easily disard that they would fall into a deep sleep as soon as their eyes closed.

Groggily waking up, Hu Lu opened her eyes and almost scread in fright.

The bald-headed Evil Spirit was back, and this ti it was much closer, as if perching on the edge of the bed, holding a broken glass with milk turned to ash.

"Sweetie, slept well? You must be both hungry and thirsty," the bald-headed Evil Spirit inquired.

Hu Lu's eyes darted about, seeking help from the others while trying to figure out how to deal with the situation.

She attempted to call out the entity's na again.

But this ti, it did not leave.

Obviously, the Naming Technique could only be used once; if targeted by the sa Evil Spirit again, the trick was useless.

"You are silent; what's wrong?"

"My family is fast asleep; you don't have to be so careful. They sleep so deeply that any noise won't disturb us."

Hu Lu trembled at these words, vividly feeling the Evil Spirit's greed, while its falsely warm smile turned towards cold rage.

Wu Hen didn't dare to make a sound at this mont and could only point around the room.

Barely understanding, Hu Lu cautiously asked, "How... how did you quiet them down?"

"They always drink milk before sleeping. I put so of my sleeping pills, which I use when I can't sleep, in the milk carton. You know I suffer from insomnia every day, and since you always go to bed late, I can always see you in the living room without the lights on. You like to dance while making a midnight snack in the kitchen, listen to music in your bedroom, and sing in the shower...," the bald-headed Evil Spirit spoke.

These words sent chills down Hu Lu's spine.

She had lived alone before and dreaded the thought of such voyeurism, indicating that this bald-headed Evil Spirit must have been a sick pervert in life.

"I think you must have been paying attention to too, to have co up with such a clumsy excuse to sneak into my garage. Since we have a connection...," the bald-headed Evil Spirit licked its lips, its tongue as long as a swamp frog's!

Hu Lu didn't know what to do anymore as she felt the fiend's frog-like tongue about to plaster itself onto her cheek; she instinctively grabbed the iron stick next to her.

Just as she was about to retaliate, Wu Hen suddenly called out:

"Hey!"

The sleepwalking Evil Spirit suddenly ca to its senses, its body enveloped in a thick Ghost Fire, its eyes completely transford into those of a vindictive spirit staring at the person who suddenly appeared.

"Who are you! Why are you in my ho's garage!" the bald-headed Evil Spirit's hostility surged as if it wanted to devour all the living beings in one bite.

"I am the blacksmith Zhu Hui; the Mayor asked us to evacuate imdiately. Quick, wake your family; there's been a great disaster!" Wu Hen shouted with conviction.

"What great disaster?" the bald-headed Evil Spirit, You Xin, asked.

"I don't know; the Mayor told to call everyone to go to the shelter. You hurry up and wake your family too; if we're any later, we might all die," Wu Hen said.

"Oh, oh, but my family is all asleep," the bald-headed Evil Spirit was taken aback by Wu Hen's authoritarian deanor.

"If they are asleep, then wake them up. Is it that hard?" Wu Hen raised his voice again.

"But..." the bald-headed Evil Spirit was becoming flustered.

"Go on, use whatever ans necessary to wake them; otherwise, we'll all die!" Wu Hen commanded.

"Okay, okay!" the bald-headed Evil Spirit was bluffed and imdiately floated towards the house, rushing into the room where his wife and children were sleeping and frantically trying to wake them.

Wu Hen's words seed to have an effect; the bald-headed Evil Spirit no longer ran to the garage but was busily trying to rouse his family.

From the perspective of this Evil Ghost, this dilapidated ho was intact, and the family was sleeping peacefully in their beds...

...

The Evil Spirit was driven away once more.

Hu Lu breathed a huge sigh of relief and looked at Wu Hen with a trace of joy, asking, "How did you know that would work?"

"Because from his words, I guessed the cause of his family's death," Wu Hen said.

"Ah? How did his family die?" Hu Lu asked.

"I figured it out; it's the sleeping pills... This old lecher must have been sneaking around with the neighbor's wife late at night. To avoid being discovered by the lady of the house, he drugged the milk that she and the children drank every night with sleeping pills. Didn't the lady's diary reveal their illicit affair? She surely guarded her husband all night. His only way to put her to sleep was with sleeping pills, and a strong dosage at that!" Cheng Liang said.

"So, on the night before the mysterious disaster, he drugged his family with sleeping pills, but no matter what, he couldn't wake them up, and as a result, they all died serenely in the disaster without having evacuated in ti?" Wang Sheng added.

"But his family died before the disaster; after all, those who die in the disaster turn into Evil Spirits?" Hu Lu said.

"Not having enough information, I'm not clear on the specifics. I just tried it out; if it worked, it ant my guess was closer to the truth..." Wu Hen said.

"How did you know there was a blacksmith in town nad Zhu Hui?" Hu Lu continued to ask.

"Haven't we picked up so iron tools before, with the blacksmith's na engraved on them?" Wu Hen said.

"Oh, right, I'd forgotten about that. So that ans those wanderers who snatched our iron tools earlier might also survive since they knew the blacksmith's na and could use the Naming Technique," Hu Lu said.

"It's hard to say; they're a bunch of uneducated brutes who might not think of that, let alone realize that the nas of the townspeople are key to driving away Evil Spirits," Cheng Liang said disdainfully.

Wu Hen silently nodded in agreent.

The group of wanderers had chosen a workshop as their shelter, not too far from this garage. Wu Hen had heard screams from there in the first half of the night, fearing that many had died.

"Finally, we can rest assured until dawn."

"These little fireflies have also played an indispensable role, huh!"

"Heh heh, it's so wonderful to be alive to see the sun tomorrow."

"Don't say, after mixing with Bai Luobo and the Prison Director, it gives people the sense of a Prison Director's leadership quality, making one feel particularly at ease."

...

Dawn gradually broke.

The heads haunting Evil Spirit Town finally vanished, and the murky light, filtered by the dense clouds, shone over the swamp town. The town shifted from eerie, horrifying, and twisted back to dilapidated, lost, and ancient. Living people began to erge from nooks and crannies, most still terrified but anxious to find supplies to last until tomorrow.

"Prison Director!" Hu Lu, at the street corner, finally saw the familiar figure and called out excitedly.

"Hey, you guys are also still alive!" Levi, the Prison Director, also started to smile.

Those he led, the prison guards, were all unhard, just that their expressions were a bit dull, likely scared witless by the terrifying events of the night.

"This town has experienced so kind of disaster that killed all its people," Wu Hen said.

"We need to leave this place; this is Dead Town," Levi said.

"Ah? This place has a very strong energy, are we just giving up like this? And what do you an by Dead Town?" Wu Hen asked, puzzled.

"I've asked all the wanderers here, including so Lost Ones who can barely communicate, not one of them has lived here for more than three days!" Levi said.

Hearing this, Wu Hen's brow also furrowed.

Most Lost Towns have residents, especially the Lost Ones, who play the role of the new mbers of the town.

But if even the Lost Ones haven't lived in this town for more than three days, it ans that every so often, the town kills everyone who stays here!

That is the most terrifying thing.

Even in Evil City, ruled by Zai Wu, there is the Black Shirt Organization. They live in cities ruled by evil spirits, and so have survived for several years...

Moreover, evil spirits are not interested in Lost Ones.

It's possible for a small town not to have new people co in, but it's impossible for the resident Lost Ones not to exist.

"What you just ntioned, about a disaster that caused the death of all the people in the town, suggests that this calamity probably recurs in this town every so often," Levi said.

"But usually, when we want to leave, this weird atmosphere doesn't allow us to," Wu Hen said.

What people can think of, the bizarre law can also think of.

The power of the weird is just a ga of ghosts and gods; it often toils with human hearts to nourish its spirit.

"Fellows, haven't you noticed? The streets today have beco much stickier, like we are in a swampy water city," Cheng Liang said.

Levi lifted his boot and discovered that it was half sunk into the mire.

Wu Hen also looked towards the other streets of the town and realized that the streets had suddenly disappeared, turning into horizontal and vertical mud...

And, perhaps it was an illusion, but Wu Hen felt that the whole town was "shorter" when he ran out of the garage this morning!

"The whole town is sinking into the swamp!" Wu Hen imdiately realized sothing.

"Get out, quickly!" Levi also shouted.

"Find the highest place in the town!" Wu Hen said.

They were too lazy to even try.

Wu Hen was one hundred percent sure that even by daylight, none of the people who stepped into the town would be able to walk out.

As expected, the wanderers who had survived the first night discovered that the entire town was sinking. They all began running through the mud and swamp towards the outskirts of the town, but as they did, they found themselves back on so street within the town.

The sinking speed of the town was accelerating.

While these people struggled to find an exit, the streets, ground, small squares, market—all were swallowed up by the swamp. About half of all buildings in the town sank into the swampy waters, forcing everyone to take refuge in the higher terrain of the town.

Wu Hen and company were among the first to run to the town's higher ground.

However, many teams of wanderers were sucked in by the swamp, unable to stride forth.

They climbed onto the rooftops of so houses, using all ans to move, to prevent being subrged by the swamp waters. But the houses in the town were low; there were no real high-rise buildings, and they were distant from each other.

Most people could only lie on the worn eaves of the houses and then despairingly watch the town slowly sink into the vast Falling Flower Swamp, like a wooden boat on an abyss, utterly helpless!

"The highest place has a library and a Stone Temple; where do we hide?" Hu Lu asked.

"Sa old rule, don't put all your eggs in one basket. We'll head for the Stone Temple, you go to the library, to avoid completely wiping out!" Levi said.

It was then that everyone realized Levi had them split up not to give the Evil Spirit a chance but to divide the risk, to avoid being instantaneously massacred by the unstoppable bizarre power!

But as soon as Levi finished speaking, Wu Hen's eyes suddenly displayed a tint of purple and blue.

In an instant, the scene of the Death On appeared before his eyes!

"Listen to , everyone goes to the library!" Wu Hen commanded decisively.
