904: Chapter 897: Safe Passage 904: Chapter 897: Safe Passage Before long, Fulajie’er’s figure reappeared at the bottom of the pit, her faint glow casting the Snow God’s huge and ferocious outline.

The crowd turned off the magic crystal flashlights on their shoulders and cautiously approached the edge of the pit.

Peering down, they were surprised and frightened by the Snow God’s massive body.

In its presence, they felt so insignificant and vulnerable.

The last ti they felt this way was at the Door of Annihilation.

Back then, Luo’er was almost swept away and eaten by Naptios.

It’s no exaggeration to say that Luo’er was nearly scared out of his wits.

Fortunately, Luo’er’s personality provided him the opportunity to stay calm, which allowed him the chance to make a lucky counterstrike and escape back to safety.

Even more luckily, at that ti, the Advance Team had Feng, such a powerful companion.

Her feat of slaying Naptios had fully demonstrated that in Otherworld, magic would always dominate; no matter how technology on Earth developed, the ho ground advantage in Otherworld would always be with magic.

Indeed, from the perspective of Earth’s scientists, whether it is the magic of Otherworld or the technology of Earth, they both essentially explore the laws of objective existence.

In other words, magic is the technology of Otherworld, and technology is the magic of Earth.

The nature of the two is the sa and won’t change with personal wishes.

Thus it can only be said that under the existing physical laws of Earth, technology will dominate, while under the physical laws of Otherworld, magic will take precedence.

They are inherently consistent, and only those who are adept at adapting can survive in both worlds.

Of course, these theories are just theories after all.

Earth and Otherworld still have objective and distinct differences, for instance, Earthlings can’t adapt to the magic power of Otherworld, and beings from Otherworld also struggle to adapt to the non-magical environnt of Earth and its complex electromagnetic waves.

Fulajie’er drifted back and forth at the bottom of the pit, and the crowd could clearly see that the bottom had frozen over, reflecting the faint glow of Fulajie’er.

As Fulajie’er moved, the Snow God shifted as well.

Its sharp claws glided across the icy surface, easily tearing it apart and producing a sound of shattering and tearing.

It emitted a series of low growls from its throat, sowhat similar to the sound of a cat’s purr.

The Snow God did not seem to mind Fulajie’er’s movents; its low growls were deep and rhythmic, with no hint of irritation.

About ten minutes later, Fulajie’er finally vanished from the bottom of the pit and instantly appeared before the group, excitedly saying to Luo’er, “It’s afraid of fire.

Don’t use fire to irritate it.

The light on your shoulders, it doesn’t particularly care about, as long as you don’t keep shining it directly on it.”

“Okay, I understand,” Luo’er nodded, then earnestly said to Fulajie’er, “Please thank it for us, and also, we’re sorry for disturbing it last ti.

Could you apologize to it for us?”

“Ah, the boss always takes things so seriously for so reason,” Hu Daoke couldn’t help but shake his head in amusent.

“Oh, I got it.” Fulajie’er said and vanished from the spot, then reappeared at the bottom of the pit.

Luo’er wanted Fulajie’er to convey the ssage because he was worried they wouldn’t be able to communicate with the Snow God properly and that a misunderstanding might cause trouble later on.

A while later, the Snow God at the bottom of the pit let out a nasal sound that echoed through the entire space.

This sound was sowhat like a cow’s moo, but deeper.

The sound was even and orderly, and the group could clearly hear that the Snow God was at ease.

Then Fulajie’er appeared before them again and said to Luo’er, “It has forgiven us.”

“That’s good,” Luo’er replied, relieved, and then he bowed slightly towards the bottom of the pit and called out loudly, “Sorry for the disturbance!”

“Hmm hmm hmm…” The Snow God from the bottom of the pit responded with a deep and lodious nasal sound, seemingly in reply to Luo’er’s words.

This discovery surprised the group as it indicated that the Snow God understood their language.

“Alright, let’s continue on our way.

Be mindful of where you shine your lights, so as not to disturb the Snow God’s rest,” Luo’er turned back and said to the group.

Axia watched Luo’er quietly, and to be honest, she did feel admiration for him at this mont.

This Wood Elf hybrid faced danger with composure and the unknown with humility.

In his company, Axia always felt extrely comfortable.

She finally understood why the two girls of the Advance Team, even including the demigoddess Fulajie’er, favored Luo’er so much; he truly had the qualities that attracted girls.

“Miss Axia, it’s ti for us to go,” Luo’er politely reminded the distracted Axia.

“Oh, right,” Axia blinked, then ca to her senses and smiled at Luo’er, “By the way, why are you always so polite to ?”

“Eh, shouldn’t I be polite?

After all, you are an elder, aren’t you?” Luo’er was taken aback and then replied as if it were a matter of course.

“Could we use a different na?

I always feel like such formalities are a bit distancing,” Axia continued, smiling warmly.

“Then, what should I call you?” Hesitating, Luo’er asked with so uncertainty.

“Call sister Axia,” Axia suggested, narrowing her eyes.

“Alright…”

Just as Luo’er was about to agree, Tangmo stepped forward and interrupted, “No, just call her Auntie.”

After saying this, she moved in front of Luo’er and Axia, staring at the latter with hostility.

“Moumou, that’s very impolite,” Luo’er scolded.

“Hey, did you hear that?

That’s very impolite,” Axia, not at all upset by the interruption, laughed and looked at Tangmo.

“Soone who’s hundreds of years old should not always be trying to take advantage of soone in their thirties.

It’s inappropriate,” Tangmo replied coldly.

At that mont, Luo’er strangely felt as if it was Momo speaking.

Of course, when it ca to magical knowledge, it was usually big sister Moumou who stepped in to deal with it.

It was only when she had free ti that the younger sister had the chance to spend ti with Luo’er.

“Sigh, whatever, Auntie it is,” Axia shook her head with an air of indifference, shrugged her shoulders, then glanced at Tangmo with a teasing smile, “Auntie knows a lot more.

You better watch out next ti.”

With that, she calmly walked away from the two, catching up with the advancing group.

Tangmo glared at her retreating figure, her breathing becoming rapid with anger.

“You’re not getting jealous again…” Luo’er began, frowning with hesitation.

But before he could finish, Tangmo suddenly turned and stared at him hard, silencing him instantly.

After about ten seconds of staring, Tangmo sighed deeply and said sowhat cryptically, “We’re both won, I understand her better than you, so I also know her intentions better than you do.”

Having said that, she walked away without looking back, leaving Luo’er standing there, dumbfounded and slow to recover.

Having dealt with the Snow God, the group was able to continue their journey.

They also benefitted from Fulajie’er’s earlier reconnaissance, so they directly avoided the remaining soldiers’ tombs and headed straight for the main chamber.

This was a corridor similar to the others, with hollowed-out soldiers’ tombs on both sides.

However, according to Fulajie’er’s description, at the end of the corridor was an even larger chamber, which, if unguessed, should be the main chamber—the general’s tomb of the entire legion.

As they set foot on this sloping corridor, they noticed that the tombs on the sides were different from the tomb chambers in other corridors.

The skeletons in these tombs were dressed in military gear, which seed to be armor from the Aud Empire and thus held so archeological value.

This also sowhat confird that at the end of this corridor, it is very likely the general’s tomb lay there.

Of course, using the term general might not be quite right, as in the Otherworld, such a title would typically translate to legion commander, the head of a legion.

But the term ‘legion commander’s tomb’ sounds odd, so it’s still preferable to call it the general’s tomb.
