316: Chapter 309: Reconciliation 316: Chapter 309: Reconciliation Tangmo took the water bottle given by Yalunte, then uncapped it.
Instantly, a strong alcohol scent wafted out.
She wrinkled her brows, took a sip to ensure that it was water and then handed it to Luo’er.
Luo’er took the water bottle, drank a mouthful and imdiately spat it out.
His mouth was filled with blood, so he had to rinse it first; otherwise, the strong tallic taste would have made him throw up.
Perhaps it was psychological, but after swallowing the capsule and drinking so water, Luo’er suddenly felt that his spirits were greatly lifted, and the strength in his limbs slowly returned.
He struggled to get up from Tangmo’s embrace and sat on the ground.
Presently, his whole body was in a ssy state, large swathes of blood stains had dyed almost all his clothes red, even his face and hair were covered in dried blood as well.
Although vomiting blood twice might not result in significant blood loss, the sight of so much blood was still incredibly alarming, causing Tangmo to feel deep guilt.
Off to the side, Yalunte was leaning against a tree trunk all this while and maintained a distance as he watched them, not because he didn’t trust Tangmo, but because he didn’t want to intrude on their mont.
It seed that for Tangmo, be it Momo or Moumou’s personality, only Luo’er could control them.
Just like the saying, “The one who tied the bell should be the one to untie it”, Momo was born out of Luo’er, so naturally, she should also be dispelled by him.
As for Tangmo, Luo’er’s tolerance of her was astonishingly high.
He was even willing to protect her at the cost of his own life.
Yalunte didn’t know how to describe him.
From his observations, Luo’er was definitely not ek and excessively kind-hearted.
The fact that he could beco the unanimously acknowledged Captain of the Advance Team showed that at the very least, his decision-making abilities were outstanding.
To put it bluntly, as long as Luo’er was around, there was no way the command authority over the team would be delegated to Cheng Ziang because Cheng Ziang wasn’t persuasive enough to lead.
After all, Cheng Ziang wasn’t interested in such power struggles.
He preferred to be soone who obediently carried out tasks rather than decision making.
After a short rest, Luo’er recovered a little, his complexion started to flush, and he beca more energetic.
Tangmo’s judgnt was correct; through minimal magical healing, they were able to minimize magical damage while also nding severely damaged parts of Luo’er’s body.
Although his body was now basically unable to use magic, it still had no problem drawing magic power from the surrounding air.
Poor Luo’er, despite being a mixed-blood Half-elf, found himself in a situation where he was unable to use magic.
“Luo’er, are you feeling better?” Tangmo looked at him, her face full of concern.
“Much better!” Luo’er nodded, then took a deep breath.
“Then you hit !” Tangmo took his hand and placed it on her face, signaling him to slap her.
“Why would I do that, why should I hit you?” Luo’er asked, looking at her with a wry smile.
“It’s who made you end up in this state.
Even though it was all Momo’s doing, it was still my fault.
I shouldn’t have let her take over initially.” Tangmo lowered her head guiltily as she spoke.
“Alright, I don’t bla you for anything.
Let’s talk about other things when we return!” Luo’er didn’t slap her as she had anticipated.
Instead, he gently caressed her face and tried to comb her hair, which resembled a nest.
Instead of receiving an anticipated slap, Tangmo got a gentle caress.
She was stunned for a mont, and then, her eyes filled with tears.
Feeling a prick in her nose, she burst into tears again.
Seeing her teary, Luo’er was at a loss on how to comfort her.
Yalunte, who was standing by the side, sighed deeply upon seeing this.
He had thought that Tangmo had taken his previous words to heart, but it turned out she still couldn’t help but lean on Luo’er.
But it didn’t matter.
After all, having Luo’er doting on her would still count as a small step towards maturity.
With a sigh, he stood up, sheathed the sword in front of him, and said, “There’s a lake less than fifty ters south from here.
You can wash yourselves there.
Stay here and don’t wander off, I will go look for the others!”
“Thank you, Mr.
Sword Saint,” Luo’er expressed sincerely.
Yalunte looked at him, suddenly smiled, then shook his head while walking away from the two.
“Alright, stop crying now!” Luo’er gently wiped the tear stains off Tangmo’s face.
His hand was not that clean either; a swipe painted her face with the mixture of blood and mud.
“Actually, when she took control, my consciousness was still intact, but I couldn’t control myself,” Tangmo cried even more bitterly as her voice grew louder.
“I could even sense her thoughts, but I couldn’t do anything about it.
I really wanted to stop her when I saw her attempting to harm others.
However, I couldn’t control my body no matter what.
Even when I saw her hurting you….
it really, really hurt …
If I could control my body even for a second, I would rather kill myself than hurt you, but, but I…”
“Alright, alright, this isn’t your fault,” Luo’er pulled her into his arms and gently reassured, “The main mistake you made was giving up control of your body and letting her take over.
As for the other mistakes, like assaulting others for no reason, kidnapping to run away, those are Momo’s faults, not yours.
I can see clearly on this matter.”
“I really didn’t want to hurt you, but I couldn’t control myself, I regret it so much…” Luo’er’s consolation seed to have no effect, and Tangmo cried even harder.
Luo’er didn’t continue to console her, knowing that Tangmo needed to vent in order to calm down or she would continue to be in a state of unease.
“That’s enough.
Take responsibility for your own faults, but don’t bear the bla for things that aren’t your fault.
Since that creature is a part of your personality, I’m not interested in questioning her faults any longer.
When we get back to the headquarters, you should see a psychiatrist and make sure that creature never wakes up again.”
“Rest assured, Luo’er.
If she wakes up again, I will imdiately end my own life with a knife, and I will not let her continue to hurt you and everyone else!” Tangmo sniffled, then said with a determined expression.
“What nonsense are you talking about,” Luo’er angrily pushed her away, then said seriously, “if she controls you again, you should let us know right away, instead of foolishly ending your life.
Have you ever thought about how everyone else would feel if you just died like that out of the blue?”
“Anyway, I don’t want to hurt anyone again, or hurt you.” Tangmo lowered her head, not retreating in the face of Luo’er’s anger.
“Listen carefully, after going through this ordeal, we’ll always be on guard,” Luo’er held her face gently, looking at her seriously, “If Momo shows up again, we can sense it, you share a body but your temperants are completely different.
As one of us, we can feel when your temperant changes.”
“Also,” Luo’er said softly, looking into her eyes, “Haven’t you always said you like ?
If you were dead, how could I like you then?”
“Luo’er…” Tangmo looked at him blankly, feeling a sudden heat in her head and her cheeks turning red, spreading to her ears.
She lunged into Luo’er’s arms, hugging him tightly, saying excitedly, “When we get back, let’s get married!”
“You’re not even of age yet, what marriage are you talking about.” Luo’er found the topic too awkward.
“I am already twenty-two this year!” Tangmo lifted her head, teary-eyed.
“That’s true, but you’re a half-dwarf, your age of majority is later.” Luo’er spoke a bit embarrassedly.
“I don’t care, the law states that n at twenty-two, won at twenty can get married.
Luo’er, you are already in your thirties, not young anymore.” Tangmo pouted.
“I could live for hundreds of years…” Luo’er said.
“So can I!” Tangmo said, thinking of sothing, and then smiled, “If that’s the case, that ans we can be husband and wife for hundreds of years!”
“Let’s hold that thought, we still have more important tasks to do!” Luo’er dismissed the topic, rembering their mission.
“Oh!” Tangmo was taken aback, then thought of their mission, hurriedly leaving Luo’er’s arms to find pen and paper to send a ssage to Headquarters.
“What should I write?” Tangmo found a paper stained with blood and looked at Luo’er with a pen in hand.
“Tell the headquarters that the Church Court may have known about the dispatch plan and are intending to attack.
Recomnd delaying or cancelling the plan, all Earth ard forces should not establish a base in Yazhi City!” Luo’er said succinctly.
Tangmo nodded, and wrote the ssage on the paper.
Then, she left Luo’er’s side to cast the transmission spell in an open area.
The reason she distanced herself from Luo’er before casting her spell was out of fear that the magical disruption from the transmission could negatively affect him.
Despite physically appearing well, Luo’er’s actual condition was dire.
Her healing attempts were rely band-aids on a wound, and ultimately, Luo’er needed to return to their base and possibly Earth for more comprehensive treatnt, should his condition decline.
After transmitting the ssage, Tangmo returned to Luo’er’s side and helped him to the lake ntioned earlier by Yalunte to clean themselves up.
Otherwise, seeing their current state might frighten their comrades.
On the way to the lake, Tangmo snuggled up to Luo’er.
Although she was supporting him, it seed more like they were a newlywed couple helping each other.
Even though Luo’er had never openly admitted his feelings for Tangmo, she had already sensed his affection from his behavior.
