296: Chapter 289: Unexpected Danger 296: Chapter 289: Unexpected Danger lia emanated a faint, enchanting fragrance, which Luo’er could keenly sll—an aroma unique to Earth’s chemical shampoos.
Since collaborating with headquarters, she had gained a lot of support from Earth’s industrial products.
“You should co back!” lia murmured, her eyes closed in pleasure as she enjoyed Luo’er’s embrace.
She didn’t quite know how she felt about Luo’er, just that in his presence, she could break free from the princess’s dignity and duty and be more like a girl her age.
“Mm!” Luo’er nodded, reveling in the warmth of lia’s embrace.
His heart pounded unusually hard—clearly, it was the first ti he had developed feelings for a girl.
In the past, though he was surrounded by two girls who had feelings for him, he put his heart into finding his mother and remained emotionally unattached.
Just as Cheng Ziang claid, Luo’er only wanted to find his mother.
Once he did, he would open his heart to love.
Only then would he genuinely fall for soone.
But lia’s presence shook Luo’er’s resolve.
It was hard for him to imagine thoughts of giving up on finding his mother and spending the rest of his life with lia creeping into his mind.
Still, Luo’er knew that lia might like him, but she would never give up her rightful power.
For power, she would steadily strive, building armies, expanding territory.
Who could imagine that being behind such actions was a girl not yet twenty?
So, even if Luo’er chose to abandon his pursuit of his mother to live a pastoral life with lia, she would not give up all she had for such a life.
To her, the thirst for power outweighed any hope for love.
Therefore, lia knew that even if their relationship was ambiguous for now, they were destined to never completely align—intersecting, but never running parallel.
At that mont, there were hurried footsteps outside the door.
Lost in lia’s embrace, Luo’er didn’t notice, but lia did.
No matter who it was, she did not plan to let go imdiately.
Anyone who could reach her office unhindered was no ordinary person.
Besides, her crush on Luo’er had long been an open secret among the top brass.
The door was swung open hastily, and to their surprise, the figure at the door was Tangmo.
Between heaving breaths, Tangmo peered into the room, her eyes widening as she took in the sight of the two in an embrace.
lia, facing the door, noticed Tangmo.
A sly smile playing on her lips, she rested her chin on Luo’er’s shoulder, her affectionate eyes challenging Tangmo.
Tangmo stood gaping, dumbfounded by the scene in front of her.
Then, her face began to contort, her angry glare glaringly evident, her teeth grinding.
Almost unnoticed by lia, Tangmo pulled the magic crystal pistol from her waist, aid at lia’s head, and was about to squeeze the trigger.
In the nick of ti, her pistol-wielding hand was shoved aside.
A barrage of ice spears erupted from the muzzle, shattering the floor-to-ceiling window next to them, scattering pieces of broken glass.
Startled by the sound of shattering glass, Luo’er quickly regained his senses and instinctively shielded lia within his arms.
When he turned around and saw Tangmo with the gun pointed at him, his face bore an expression of disbelief.
The one who deflected Tangmo was none other than Cheng Ziang.
He and Hu Daoke had trailed after Tangmo all the way to lia’s office.
Still, they were utterly unprepared for Tangmo’s attempt to shoot lia.
Considering the scatter mode that she had set, Luo’er would have been the first victim, even before lia, had it gone off.
Although his clothes could withstand such scatter ice spears, his head was not made of steel and would have been instantly wrecked.
Of all the people present, only Cheng Ziang remained calm.
Instead of faltering in the face of a sudden crisis, he quickly knocked the magic crystal pistol from Tangmo’s grasp, leaving her no chance to attack again.
But at this point, heart in mouth, Tangmo didn’t care about any of that.
Once the magic crystal pistol was knocked away, she imdiately perford a judo flip on Cheng Ziang, throwing him aside.
She then continued to pull out her basic Magic Wand from her waist and was about to cast a spell on lia and Luo’er.
It is known that Tangmo, a magical genius, can cast spells much faster than others her age.
Spells below level three can be almost instantly cast.
Once she starts chanting a spell, it would essentially be the end for them.
Just when everyone thought that Luo’er and lia were done for, a large hand reached out, heavily gripping her tiny wrist.
The grip was so strong that she cried out in pain, dropping her Magic Wand.
“Sister Moumou, have you lost your mind!” Hu Daoke appeared next to Tangmo, holding her hand high and preventing her from launching another attack while shouting in shock.
“Let go!” Tangmo yelled hoarsely, her features twisted into a monstrous expression.
She glared furiously at Luo’er and lia, her eyes wild with fervor—hardly resembling her ordinarily sweet, lovely self.
“Old Cheng!” Hu Daoke, for the first ti, ignored her orders and yelled at Cheng Ziang.
Cheng Ziang nodded and then grabbed her other hand, not giving her a chance to continue attacking.
He had always ignored Tangmo’s physical training, so he was taken aback when he was put down by her, feeling sowhat embarrassed.
Tangmo was incapable of breaking free from the grip of two large n, could only struggle futilely, attempting to kick forward, hoping to attack the two of them.
“Sister Moumou, don’t!” Hu Daoke took a step forward, hugged her waist, and stopped her from continuing to struggle.
The two n restrained Tangmo and moved back.
Shortly thereafter, Baiyue hurriedly appeared in the doorway.
She ca straight to Tangmo without any emotion on her face, raised her hand and slapped her crisply, then asked coldly, “Have you cald down, Sister Moumou?”
After being slapped by Baiyue, Tangmo finally stopped struggling.
At this mont, her hair was loose around her face, and she had a clear handprint on it.
With her hand covering her reddening cheek, she began to cry pitifully.
Noticing that Tangmo had cald down, Baiyue turned around.
When she saw Luo’er holding lia, she couldn’t help but feel a pang of bitterness, but she still said respectfully, “I’m genuinely sorry for the trouble our people have caused, Princess.
I hope you can forgive us.”
“Are you okay?” Luo’er released lia and asked her with concern.
“I’m fine, just a bit scared.” lia said with a slight smile.
She originally just wanted to provoke Tangmo, but she never expected her to show such a strong desire to attack.
This was not the Tangmo she knew.
The Tangmo in her mory was like a child, who would just throw a tantrum in such a situation, and not be this irrational and aggressively attacking.
At that mont, the frantic and noisy footsteps ca down the corridor again.
The captain of the knights and a few guards rushed into the room.
Seeing the shattered scene, he asked anxiously, “Are you okay, Princess?”
“I’m fine, you all may leave.
I can handle this.” lia waved them away.
“But…your…” The captain looked at the broken glass shards and the manic Tangmo, before he asked her hesitantly.
“I said leave, did you not hear ?
I can handle this, there’s no need for you to worry.” lia said indifferently, her tone leaving no room for argunt.
“Then we’ll leave for the ti being.
If you need us, just call us and we’ll co imdiately!” The captain had nothing to say since lia was so adamant.
He gave the mbers of the advance team a warning glance, then left the room with the guards.
Luo’er left lia’s side and ca straight to Tangmo.
He stared emotionlessly at her disheveled face, then asked coldly, “Have you had enough?”
Luo’er has felt that he owed Tangmo all this while, and so he tolerated her exaggerated behavior as much as possible.
But now, she seed to beco even more excessive, even daring to attack lia.
lia represented the Masya force cultivated by the headquarters, and her importance was self-evident.
The headquarters always hoped that lia would achieve good results and did everything they could to et all her demands.
Now, Tangmo almost killed an important partner of the headquarters.
If this is passed on to headquarters, it would not be simply a warning and punishnt.
The entire advance team might be sent back to Earth, and then it’ll definitely be the end.
Ever since Luo’er found Tangmo in the forest that day, he felt there was sothing off about her.
He leniently believed it was her stress response to his concealnt of her injuries, so he did his best to et her demands, tolerating her willful behavior ti and ti again.
But now it seems that unreserved concessions didn’t lead to her satisfaction, but rather an uncontrolled desire to possess him.
Luo’er admits that he does have a trace of feelings for lia, but if he can’t even interact normally with her because of Tangmo’s disapproval, wouldn’t she just kill all females who have ever interacted with him?
Now, Tangmo is no longer jealous just because Luo’er is getting cozy with other girls.
She has evolved into an absolute desire to control Luo’er, she obsessively interferes with his interpersonal interactions, worried that he will et other girls.
She doesn’t want to see him interacting with any other girl now.
She fears that these people will take Luo’er away, that they will rob him from her.
In her eyes, Luo’er is her exclusive treasure, in which no one is allowed to interfere.
