Chapter 1952: Chapter 1945: Revisiting Old Haunts
“So, is it possible or not?” Cheng Ziang asked with a smile.
“This, we need to consult the Pope.”
Carter couldn’t make a quick decision.
“We’ve already contacted your Pope, your army only needs to cooperate with our operation.” Cheng Ziang said.
“Contacted already? In that case…”
Carter still seed hesitant.
“Once successful, the war will imdiately end, the leaderless Aud Army will collapse without fighting. It’s better than continuing to fight and lose lives, isn’t it?” Cheng Ziang said.
“Alright,” Carter nodded solemnly, looking at him, “I will verify with the Pope. If the situation is indeed true, we will do our utmost to support your actions.”
“Thank you, everyone.”
Cheng Ziang extended his hand.
“You’re welco, we’re all working towards a common goal,” Carter shook his hand and couldn’t help but praise, “Your battle at Lipei was brilliant, managing to defeat 300,000 strong Aud armies with just over ten thousand n.”
“I’m ashad, I only made a small contribution; the main credit still belongs to our Commander.”
Cheng Ziang smiled subtly, not forgetting to complint Luo’er.
“Is the Commander also on the ship?” Carter asked instinctively.
“I am fully responsible for this operation.”
Cheng Ziang seed to dodge the question, actually reminding him not to ask rashly.
“Oh, alright then.”
Carter seed to realize his mistake, nodded continuously and did not continue to inquire.
After gaining Carter’s approval, Cheng Ziang returned to the ship satisfied, and reported the situation to Luo’er.
“Very good,” upon hearing the news, Luo’er nodded with satisfaction, “Now we just wait for good news from Holy Heart City, once everything is set, we will launch the Crown Removal Operation!”
Luo’er had already mobilized various spies within Holy Heart City, requesting them to provide military information from within, including anti-aircraft positions, ammo depots, and barracks, which are the primary targets of the airstrike.
At the start of the operation, they would first destroy most of the anti-aircraft positions, crippling the Aud Army’s anti-air defense network.
Next, the second wave of airstrikes would directly attack key military units like barracks and ammo depots.
The third round of airstrikes would target palace guard forces, then cover the landing of the Marines to enter the palace and find the target.
The key to all the actions was to determine Gudelv’s position and movents. Only with full confirmation of this information could the operation officially comnce.
After disengaging from Carter, the Xuanwu Ship continued its voyage and arrived hovering over Holy Heart City two days later, standing by.
Just as Luo’er was becoming anxious over the slow intelligence departnt, Yalunte appeared tily, offering to help them infiltrate the palace and control King Gudelv.
Only then did everyone realize that Yalunte once was the Chief Guard of the court, naturally he was most familiar with the palace of Holy Heart City.
Moreover, for him, this operation carried a personal sentint. He wanted to return to the palace, face Gudelv, and ask why he forced his sister to death.
Even though he already knew the answer, he still wanted to hear the response from Gudelv.
Facing Yalunte’s request, Luo’er, after careful consideration, still agreed to his proposal. The reason was nothing, but Yalunte was wearing Liseya’s pendant around his neck, which was his proof of invincibility.
“Dad, be safe.”
Cheng Ziang rarely called out to him, expressing his concern with a serious expression.
“Don’t worry, I will be careful.”
Yalunte was sowhat emotional, his lips trembling slightly, tears glistening at the corners of his eyes.
“I can finally go back…” he lanted with a hint of nostalgia.
“Don’t act impulsively when you see him, wait for us.” Cheng Ziang continued to instruct.
“I’ll try…”
“It’s not about trying, it’s a must. Dad, stay principled.”
“Principle,” Yalunte uttered a sob, saying, “He never talks about principles!”
“Mr. Yalunte, if you can’t control your emotions, I’ll have to find soone else.” Luo’er coldly reminded beside him.
“I will be careful.”
Yalunte sniffed and slightly restrained his emotions.
“Be cautious in everything, don’t act recklessly.” Luo’er instructed again.
Under the cover of night, the Transport Plane carried Yalunte and dozens of Special Forces officers, descending to the outskirts of Holy Heart City, beginning infiltration inside.
Yalunte didn’t act with the other Marines, but moved as soon as he landed based on his mory.
Relying on his familiarity with Holy Heart City, he easily infiltrated the city and found a military officer’s uniform, changed into it and walked towards the palace with swagger.
By then, full armored warriors were rare to see in Holy Heart City, more common were soldiers in long gown uniforms carrying guns.
Yet, they still maintained the sword-holding style; Yalunte’s left hand held the sword hilt, briskly walking on the street. Occasionally encountering patrolling soldiers, he easily bluffed past them.
However, he didn’t enter the palace imdiately, after all, going in the middle of the night was unrealistic. Passing through complex alleys, he turned left and right, unexpectedly arriving at the residence area for upper class and quickly climbed through a window, entering a luxurious apartnt’s second floor.
The house owner was a fifty-plus-year-old Chief Guard of the court, a martial artist for years, he quickly sensed sothing amiss, pulled a handgun from under the pillow, pointed at the dark, and yelled sternly, “Who’s there?”
“Long ti no see, old friend.”
Yalunte erged from the shadow, looking ominous.
“Yalunte, you’re still alive!”
The Chief Guard was both surprised and delighted.
“Seems you still rember , not in vain for my nurturing back then.” Yalunte said dispassionately.
“You left with the Princess, where did the Princess go, how dare you co back?”
“The Princess was forced to death by him, so you should understand why I’m back.”
“You’re crazy!”
The Chief Guard widened his eyes.
“Heh…”
Yalunte said no more, suddenly lunged with his waist-hung sword drawn, slamming it onto the Chief Guard’s hand, which hurt so much that he instinctively loosened the gun.
“You’ve regressed, can’t even match with a gun.” Yalunte taunted mildly.
“You are a sword saint, how could I possibly reach your level.” The Chief Guard frowned, looking at the clear red mark on his hand, said nervously.
“Enough chit-chat, I want to enter the palace, either you help or I help you.”
“Do you know what you’re saying? I could lose my head.”
“Whether anyone loses their head is hard to say…”
“You’re crazy, wanting to assassinate the king.”
“Stay on topic, lend your outfit, I’ll return it after using.” Yalunte said again.
“What a joke, I don’t want to be implicated.” The Chief Guard refused without thinking.
“You owe your life, don’t forget! ”
“…”
Hearing his words, the Chief Guard bowed his head in silence.
“Besides, you may not necessarily die, soon this country will undergo great change, and no one will pursue your liabilities.”
Yalunte tried to console him.
“Do you know what that ans, you’re Aud too, how can you bear to see your country in that state?” The Chief Guard chastised him sternly.
“Whose country is it, the Aud people’s country?”
Yalunte wore a mocking expression.
“The Majesty sacrificed even his own sister for the Empire…”
The Chief Guard hadn’t finished speaking when he felt a killing intent, a sharp sword deeply pierced the wall beside his ear; he could almost feel the blade’s murderous intent.
“I told you, the Princess was forced to death by him!!”
Yalunte pressed forward, grinding his teeth saying.
“A man who even won’t spare his own sister is worthy of so many followers, utterly ridiculous.” Yalunte continued.
“I can’t agree.”
Facing threat, the Chief Guard still mustered courage to shake his head.
“Is that so…”
Upon hearing, Yalunte suddenly stepped back and drew his sword, staring at him with amusent.
Then, he snapped his fingers, under the Chief Guard’s terrified gaze, a glowing human head slowly appeared on his shoulder.
