1002: Chapter 995: Uncertain Future 1002: Chapter 995: Uncertain Future “Don’t worry yet,” Luo’er, unable to bear it anymore, instinctively grabbed her hand to free himself from her embrace and then said earnestly, “Don’t forget that we still need to go to Xia Yue Island.

Personally, I feel that restricting Tana’s misbehavior is the urgent matter at hand, compared to the Otherworld Gate.”

“So how should we arrange this?

Are we going to keep carrying this thing to Xia Yue Island?” Not to be outdone, Tangmo wrapped her arms around his neck again, tilting her head to look at him as she asked.

“Hmm, let think.

If it really cos down to it, we’ll communicate with HQ, because we really can’t leave right now,” Luo’er said, his eyelids drooping in thought, completely oblivious to Tangmo taking advantage of their closeness.

“How about we split into two teams?

One team could take the materials back to our base, and the other team could head to Xia Yue Island,” Cheng Ziang suggested seriously to Luo’er as he vigorously pushed away Hu Daoke’s face that had leaned too close to him by the campfire.

“If we divide our forces…” Luo’er fell into hesitation.

“No, absolutely not!” Baiyue suddenly spoke up, expressing her strong opposition to the plan.

“Why not?” Luo’er asked.

“Yeah, the military argunt against splitting forces doesn’t apply to us; we’re just a small special task force,” Cheng Ziang added.

Baiyue pursed her lips, glanced at Cheng Ziang, then at Luo’er, and said seriously, “If we split up, our advance team’s strength will undoubtedly be severely weakened.

Let ask you, if we divide, who will Feng go with, and who will Fula accompany?

They are the main combat forces of our advance team.

If they escort the materials back to the base, then the squad going to Xia Yue Island will lack fighting power.

But if we send them to Xia Yue Island, there’s also the fear that the materials might be intercepted en route.

Don’t forget, the CIA has always been eyeing us closely.”

“That’s actually true.” After hearing Baiyue’s words, Luo’er and Cheng Ziang exchanged glances, nodding in admiration.

It must be said, at that mont, Baiyue’s opposition was like a beacon in the night, alerting them instantly.

The current advance team was not the sa as it initially was; although now more powerful, their weakness was very clear—they were extrely dependent on Feng, the main force, and Fula, the support.

Without one of them, they wouldn’t know how many tis they would have died in tombs.

Returning to the issue at hand, the materials were indeed incredibly important, as this was their mission’s goal.

However, the matters on Xia Yue Island couldn’t be ignored either, as they might affect the safety of the entire Otherworld.

If they couldn’t restrain Tana’s reckless actions, then soon, the Earthlings in the Otherworld would encounter difficulties.

Being a conservative, Tana was certainly not welcoming of Earthlings’ arrival.

Although there was no direct evidence, the advance team mbers increasingly felt that the original war in the Otherworld was instigated by Tana.

Apart from not directly engaging in killings, Tana’s hands were no cleaner than others.

They must reach Xia Yue Island before Tana could cause more trouble for the advance team, liberating the overseer Xiapei Kam and restraining Tana’s actions, or else it would be too late.

After several encounters, Luo’er had roughly figured out Tana’s tactics against them.

One thod was interference, but this was only effective against elves like Luo’er who had established links, and since acquiring the Soul Summoning Bell, this thod had almost lost its efficacy.

So, if interference didn’t work, then Tana would resort to her second thod: inciting her followers to tackle them.

This was what Luo’er feared the most, as it was akin to murder by proxy.

But actually, avoiding this was quite easy, just by actively moving and shaking off these followers’ pursuit.

Even if confronted, the advance team could still fight it out.

But just as Baiyue said, if they divided their forces, one side would undoubtedly face a crisis regardless of which side was prioritized.

The safest thod was still to move together, as more people ant more strength.

“It looks like we’ll have to ask HQ to send soone to et us,” Cheng Ziang nodded and said, looking at Luo’er.

“That seems to be the only option,” Luo’er nodded in agreent, then turned to Baiyue and said, “Yue’er, take out the map, and let’s figure out our next steps.”

“Oh!” Baiyue responded and began searching her bag for the map, though her glances kept straying towards Luo’er.

Realizing sothing was off, Luo’er looked down and realized he was still entangled with a little nesis.

As he looked down, he narrowly missed a kiss with Tangmo.

“Get down, get down, what are you doing in such a public place?” Luo’er’s face flushed red, and he hurriedly pulled Tangmo’s arm, dragging her down from his neck.

“Humph, humph, humph!” Tangmo didn’t say a word, but tilted his head, pouted his lips, and let out unsatisfied snorts.

“You’re being too reckless, next ti you do this, I’ll really get angry,” Luo’er said seriously.

“Are you going to get angry?” Hearing Luo’er’s words, Tangmo’s face changed, and then he put on a pitiful look, widened his eyes, and asked in panic.

Although Luo’er could tell she was acting, her pitiable look genuinely made it hard for him to stay firm, so he could only sigh deeply, shaking his head in resignation.

“Luo’er, the map is ready,” Baiyue interrupted Luo’er’s thoughts at that mont.

He left Tangmo and ca to the campfire, squatting down and observing the map of the Otherworld Continent with a frown.

This map of the Otherworld was drawn by Earth scientists on the basis of existing maps, using various historical records and geographical surveys to get the closest approximation to the true proportions of the Otherworld Continent.

The Otherworld Continent, also known as Aels Continent, is roughly parallelogram in shape, with many islands in the south and a rugged coastline in the north, due to past glacial erosion.

Islands are mostly situated in the southern part of the Continent, the largest of which is Xia Yue Island, ho to the Night Elves.

Of course, most islands depicted on the map are shallow water islands.

Due to the existence of Leviathans in the deep sea, it is unknown whether there are other islands beyond the Continent.

Luo’er stared at the map in silence for a long ti, then pointed at the map and said, “We should first notify headquarters to prepare, and then we’ll depart from Luscaque Port, travel along the coastline to reach Winter Harbor…

no, Blue Bay, and have them wait for us there in advance.”

“Eh, why do we have to go to Blue Bay?” Cheng Ziang blinked and asked knowingly.

“I have my reasons, don’t speculate wildly,” Luo’er glared at him and gestured dismissively.

“Going to Blue Bay…” Baiyue muttered, looking excitedly at Luo’er with a grateful look in her eyes.

She would naturally be thrilled, for from Blue Bay, it was only a few days’ journey to a place they had visited before—the village of the Sub-beast Race, ila Village.

It was very likely that this was Baiyue’s hotown.

“Mmm-hmm.” Noticing Baiyue’s fervent gaze, Luo’er coughed awkwardly, urging everyone to focus their attention on the map.

“Hey, boss, after we et with the headquarters’ people in Blue Bay, are we going to continue sailing southward directly to Xia Yue Island?” Hu Daoke leaned in and asked.

“Yes, that’s what I’m thinking,” Luo’er nodded and said.

“Wait, you guys are taking a ship south from Blue Bay?” At this mont, Talis stepped forward and looked at them confusedly.

“Yes, what’s the matter?” Luo’er nodded again and then looked at her.

“How do you plan to get around the Kabarguru Peninsula?” Talis asked.

“Eh, didn’t you guys just sail directly north from Xia Yue Island to Snow Domain?” Luo’er paused and then asked.

“Of course not,” Talis shook her head, saying it as a matter of fact, “We sailed directly into Lene territory, then crossed the Namijiya Mountain Range, passed through Bisana, and reached Oudallo’s Blue Bay, finally taking a ship northward to reach Snow Domain.”

“This…” Luo’er froze and exchanged glances with Cheng Ziang.

“Oh, I just rembered, it seems the Beastn on Kabarguru Peninsula are still in a civil war, probably still up to their raiding shenanigans on passing ships, right?” Cheng Ziang slapped his head and said as he suddenly realized.
