Chapter 5: The First Line of the Couplet: “Edison Chen Enjoys Cecilia Cheung’s Juice, and Nicholas Tse Goes Mad!”
Across Tilines (2000-2018) – Dragon Nation, 749 Bureau
Inside the eting room of the 749 Bureau, everyone wore bewildered expressions after watching the latest videos on the massive sky screen.
A young researcher hesitated before speaking up.
“Professor, I don’t think these videos are ant to send us so grand ssage for Dragon Nation.”
“It feels more like… tabloid gossip.”
“And the content is downright scandalous!”
“What’s the point of any of this?!”
An older researcher quickly cut in.
“Xiao Liu, watch your words!”
“We’ve studied the sky screen for three years and still understand nothing about it!”
“There must be a deeper purpose here!”
The elderly professor sighed deeply before silencing the debate.
“Enough.”
“I admit, the content so far has been… frivolous.”
“Just dirty laundry from the entertainnt industry.”
“But in a way, it’s also a warning—revealing the rot beneath the glamour.”
“Perhaps we should use these leaks to clean up the industry!”
The team’s eyes lit up with realization.
“Brilliant!”
“The professor’s right—we can crack down on drugs, tax evasion, all of it!”
“With these leaks, we’ll have solid evidence!”
One researcher stood eagerly.
“Professor, let’s form a task force! What should we call it?”
The old man pondered, then nodded.
“Since the sky screen exposed these scandals…”
“We’ll na it the ‘Sky Screen Oversight Group.’”
Just then, an aide rushed in, breathless.
“Professor! The sky screen—it’s showing sothing new!”
“This ti… it’s a poetic couplet.”
The professor frowned.
“What does it say?”
The aide swallowed hard.
“Only the first line is shown: ‘Edison Chen enjoys Cecilia Cheung’s juice, Nicholas Tse goes mad!’”
2006 Tiline – A Luxury Mansion
Edison Chen held a cara, playfully “capturing monts” with Gillian Chung.
Both knew about the sky screen’s recent celebrity exposés, but neither cared.
Why bother with gossip when they had better gas to play?
They’d drawn the curtains tight, sealing themselves in their private world—until the sky screen’s voice bood through:
[Brothers, I’ve got a poetic challenge! Can anyone match this first line?].
[First line: “Edison Chen enjoys Cecilia Cheung’s juice, Nicholas Tse goes mad!”].
Edison froze mid-action.
“Did I… just hear my na?”
Gillian nodded, equally stunned.
“You did. And Cecilia Cheung’s. And Nicholas Tse’s.”
“It ca from outside!”
Edison lunged for the window, yanking the curtains open—
—and there he was, his own face plastered across the sky screen.
A cold dread settled in his gut.
Gillian, oblivious, giggled.
“Edison, you’re on the sky screen!”
“Guess you’re even more famous now!”
Edison said nothing. He just stared, his mind racing.
2006 Tiline – Concert Stadium
Nicholas Tse glared at the sky screen, his na flashing in damning context.
The suggestive phrasing made his blood boil.
What the hell had Cecilia and Edison done?!
The screen shifted to a talk show clip:
[Host: Nicholas, when Edison and Cecilia’s photos leaked nationwide, did you see them?].
[Nicholas: Pfft. I didn’t even blink.].
Nicholas’s confusion mirrored the murmuring crowd.
“Photos? What photos?”
“The couplet already hints at it… sothing wild enough to drive Nicholas mad!”
“Edison and Cecilia had rumors before… you think it’s… those kind of photos?!”
Then, the sky screen delivered.
Image after image appeared: Edison and Cecilia, entangled in ways that left nothing to the imagination.
Nicholas’s face turned ghostly pale as he watched Edison literally drinking from his wife’s—
His fists clenched. The stadium erupted.
